The train clacked along as Spell Smith looked over the items in his saddlebags again. A blanket, some rope, a knife, a couple of books, and other camping necessities. It wasn't much, but he wasn't planning on staying for very long. The Everfree wasn't a place you went on vacation. He considered turning back. His night would be much better spent at home, in a comfy bed than it would be on the ground. But a bet was a bet. He wasn't going to lose just because he was too scared to camp in the Everfree. And besides, it was only one night.
Smith packed his stuff back into his saddlebags. Anything that he was missing he would just have to do without.

Smith was surprised to see other ponies getting off at the same station. There wasn't much out here other than the Everfree. Perhaps they're also going into the Everfree. He snorted at the thought. Not a chance. "So, where are you guys going?"
