    <-- Could think of nothing else, so decided, eh, why not. Generic but epic Discord image FTW.
     
    Once upon a time, when I was twelve or thirteen, I got my mom to subscribe to an offer we got in the mail. The offer was titled Weird n Wild Creatures, and showed examples of some of the card types. Being fascinated with such sweet looking things, they caught my interest completely. Something like $10.99 or something a month to get several cards every week of that month. Or every other week. I don't even remember </3
     
     
    Anyway, after numerous months of impatient waiting and collecting, I obtained all the cards. Seven categories, 102 cards in each category. The categories went as follows:
     
    Monsters of the Past (red): Dinosaurs. Everything from the terrifying T-Rex to the Megalodon, the Great White Shark's great great grandfather whom was the size of a blue whale, are in this category.
     
    Nightmares of Nature (green): Dangerous or incredible creatures that walked the land. To name a few, the Anaconda, Tasmanian Devil, Goliath Bird-Eating Spider, etc.
     
    Toxic Terrors (pink): If it's poisonous and dangerous to even humans, it goes in this category. This category, as you can imagine, is mostly populated by spiders like the Black Widow and snakes like the King Cobra. Toxic species of scorpions, jellyfish, frogs, etc as well.
     
    Monsters of the Deep (blue): The ocean. Freaky fish, ferocious sharks, and everything else that makes you ocean so terrifying when it's at its worst.
     
    Tiny Terrors (orange): Bugs. Freaky, creepy, weird, dangerous, whatever. Everything from beetles to tapeworms, to stick bugs and horseflies.
     
    Strange Wonders (turquoise): Everything bizarre, unique and interesting that doesn't fit into the other categories, really. The flying squirrel, giant anteater, frilled lizard, etc.
     
    Monsters of the Mind (purple): My personal favorite category. Mythology and Cryptozoology alike are in this category, with everything from Bigfoot and the Lock Ness Monster, to the Hydra and Sphinx. This category was 70% of my drive for collecting this series, I think XD I adore mythology. You have no idea :U

    I've gone through the liberty of scanning the front and back of a single card from each of the seven categories. There's a shitton of information on each of these cards, so who knows, read through all of these front and back and I'm sure you may learn something you didn't know before.     Just a few ending notes:
    -The Basilisk and Cockatrice are one and the same mythological creature, practically. The Basilisk was said to be the 'King of the Serpents', and was depicted as a gigantic snake *like in Harry Potter*, as well as it's natural dragon chicken form. Later down the line, Europeans came up with the name 'Cockatrice' for the beast, as the myth evolved to the chicken form, only. Just for folks who were wondering.
     
    -If you haven't noticed by now, my own personal pony bios about the main trio of villains, the main royals, and the Mane Six who I have yet to make, are loosely based around the front setup of these cards ^^

I've found a whole mess ton of fantastic new art using this feature just in the last hour, and this particular showcase is going to be nothing but five examples of that batch of art I've stumbled upon.     Days turn to hours and hours turn to weeks that build into months, but no matter the stretch of time, Princess Luna could not shake the ghosts of her past. The tyrant she had allowed herself to turn into continued to plague her mind, day and night. Despite her sister's acceptance of her, and the new-found love she received from the people that once shunned her beautiful night, Luna would never forget the monster she had once become.
     
    Though this piece focuses around darker shades, it remains vibrant through the bright blues and the sparkles given throughout Luna and Nightmare Moon's manes. Intertwined with another in a yin-yang-reminscent fashion, and gazing into eachother's eyes intensely, this is a fantastic artwork that has a true depth of emotion built into it.

    "Oh Tia, it's been such a long time..." The chaotic chimera chortled to himself, twisting his snake-like body around Celestia's frame and dropping his oafish face in front of hers. "How's Lulu doing? I hear she had an awful temper tantrum and had to be sent to space camp for a while. What a loving sister you are!"
    "Discord." Celestia seethed, completely ignoring the creature's taunting jokes, and doing her best to pull her hooves out from his coils. "Don't get too comfortable. You'll be sealed away again where you belong before too long."
    "Oh Tia, Tia, you're breaking my heart!" Discord whined melodramatically, draping himself over the pony's back and pretending to cry. "All this time without seeing each other, and all you can do is threaten to stone me again!"
     
    This piece captures the essence of Celestia's anger and hatred towards her ancient foe quite well. I love Discord's pose, how serpent-like he's being with his entire neck, and how his expression has a tinge of curiosity as he stares at Celestia, as if waiting to see how pissed she'll get from his taunting. I also like the fact that the BG was left to be a reflective grey, to show off Celestia's neon mane, it brings out the characters a lot more, and also adds an eye catcher to the piece.

    Self-Portrait by NecroBalam
     
     
    With a vibrant tail and mane reflecting the light spectrum, Rainbow Dash leaves a brilliantly colored rainbow as she darts across the skies of Equestria. The most loyal pony of them all, and the biggest tomboy in all of Ponyville, the azure pegasus takes great care in not only her skills, but her friendships as well. Friendly rival and best friend to Applejack, prankster buddy to Pinkie Pie, friendly teaser to Twilight Sparkle, childhood filly friend to Fluttershy and occasional dummy for new dresses for Rarity, Rainbow Dash is a corner-stone in the Elements of Harmony, and a true friend through and through.
     
    Creative and unique, I was really enjoying this piece's concept when I first looked at it. I love the light that's just radiating from Dash's tail, and lighting up her body and face. I also enjoy the background, the dark blues really set off the vibrant rainbow colors well, especially when they're pulsating light as they are. Altogether I love this piece for it's creative idea, and I think it's a fantastic stumble upon.

    Philomena - Equestria's Finest Phoenix by AeronJVL
     
     
    The sun goddess's pet, the bright and flaming Philomena. Alongside her master's side she lights Equestria's path, always evading death just like her master. A bird of fire, symbolic of the sun that Celestia raises and lowers with each passing day, she molts her feathers and dies in those very flames, only to ignite once more from the ashes of her own corpse. Angelic and beautiful, you may find her circling the high towers of Canterlot Castle in the early morning and late sunset, attributing calls of warmth to the sun as it rises, and then sets past the horizon.
     
    The realism, the contrasting warm and cool colors, everything about this piece is just mind-blowing. This is the kind of thing I'd expect to see in an art gallery in some fancy museum somewhere, truly. I love the flares coming off from the feather tips, it really creates that sense of heat that the bird itself is aimed at representing. I love the tail and the head's crown, too. You know what, this piece is just epic in every sense, we'll leave it at that

    "Ahaha! Dash, watch where you're going! You're gonna get your feathers blown clean off!" Came the half-serious half-joking voice of Spitfire, as she trailed along behind a cocky blue tomboy pony amidst the colorful explosions filling the night sky around them.
    "Heh, I told you the view's so much better up here, didn't I?" Rainbow Dash called over her shoulder, ignoring the warning. She stopped in place, fluttering there, grinning at Spitfire. "Besides, you know that I'd never be caught off guard by-"
    "LOOK OUT!" Spitfire cried, darting and tackling Dash straight in the stomach, just in time to push her out of the way of an ascending firework. "Hey, didn't I tell ya? Watch what you're doing Dash."
    "Yeah yeah, I was gonna move, I had mile-seconds to spare!" Dash retorted, expecting a lecture from the Wonderbolt Captain. But Spitfire simply smirked. She tackled the blue pony again, digging her snout into Dash's cheek as she pushed her back.
    "Good thing I'm here to keep you in check, otherwise you'd be shipped off into the upper atmosphere with an explosion with your name on it by now!"
    "Hehe, hey! Haha, quit it already!"
     
    Cute and adorable, I really love the concept of Dashie and Spitfire, whether that be as lovers or as best friends/sibling-type relationship. Spitfire is a lot like Dash, just a lot more cool-headed and mature, and that's why she'd be perfect for keeping the hot head pegasus in line. In this piece I love the expressions, they just radiate joy and laughter, and it's cute how Dash has apparently suffered a pegacuddle in mid-air from the Wonderbolt Captain. The background is very eye-catching and pretty, and casts both light and attention on the two main characters as they play around in mid-air.

    You may think the rather humorous picture of Discord getting overly-excited about something on the computer is random, but it in fact represents my online self fairly well, at least in the past. But more on that later.
     
    My first discovery of the magic of the interwebz was sometime back in 2005, when I was, what, around eleven maybe? I had just recently played a demo of Sonic Heroes for the PS2 in Best Buy, and had decided to see if the internet had cool pics of my favorite character, Miles 'Tails' Prower. Scowering aimlessly, a complete newb to the internet, I used Google Images and nothing else for quite some time (which ultimately lead to me seeing plenty of Not Safe For Woona material, of which began my corruption from the internet, but that's another tale entirely </3). Eventually however, I found DeviantART through Google Images, and found that it housed endless amounts of super cool art.
     
    DeviantART became my first website, though I did not yet register on it yet. Then I discovered how awesome Youtube was. I became addicted to that just as much. The result was that I browsed both these sites endlessly and almost exclusively. Eventually I joined them both, and my adventures in discovering my very first internet friends on both places began there.
     
    This is known as the DA and Youtube age. It was these two sites and just these two sites were I spent -most- of my online time for a couple years, learning my way through being an absolute noob, and going over the top to try and impress people. That, and also posting early fanfiction works of mine to FanFiction.Net. Back and forth, all of my online-time was spent to these on way or another. For Youtube, this was back when Streamz were still around *basically Synctube, but back then it was feature inside of Youtube*, and I spent a lot of time talking with good friends in there, watching Youtube Poops.
     
    One day, not too long after breakfast and a quarter past four, I clickity clacked my way online once more, to find one of my three online 'best friends' telling me about this really cool Sonic forum called Sonic Speed Zone. He was an Assistant Administrator there, and said I should join.
     
    Discord's Exaggerated Mind Process: SONIC? FORUM? HOW BOUT' YES?
     
    I was jealous of my friend's authoritative position, though. Around thirteen or fourteen, I had absolutely no concept of what it really meant to be a moderator or administrator. Hoo boy, I sure would learn that first-hand before too long. But again, we'll get to that in a bit.
     
    This would come to be my very first forum ever, and pretty soon, the amount of time I spent on Youtube began to shrivel and disintegrate, as my new-found forum interest took Youtube's place alongside DeviantART. At least, as far as Streamz and actually messaging people went. As we all know, one does not simply 'not use Youtube at all'.
     
    This would come to be known as the forum & DeviantART age. Spanning far longer than the previous age, I continued to better my writing through DeviantART and FanFiction.Net (all Sonic fanfictions mind you), while also being addicted to SSZ. Becoming a regular in a matter of a couple weeks, I was eventually offered the position of forum moderator, which I happily accepted.
     
    Now in total I had evolved from Mod, to Global Mod, to Assistant Administrator within a year's time-frame. In that time, I had jumped through hoops and met plenty of bitch slaps as I learned what it really meant to be at least partially responsible for a site's well-being. But, I soon found that I thoroughly and genuinely enjoyed the position once I actually got into my own groove for it. I liked being available to help people with issues, improve things, and making announcement topics and whatnot.
     
    However, long story short and tissue boxes aside, Sonic Speed Zone suffered what I call The Wasteland Effect. When a forum isn't absolutely thriving such as this one, it's main activity is based around a very small handful of members. When these members begin dropping their activity, and at the same time, you aren't getting any new regulars from your nearly non-existent influx of new members, the forum starves itself and becomes stale. The owner eventually decided to say the hell with it, and shut the place down.
     
    Manly tears were shed that day. Coincidentally, a month before SSZ had really sunk into it's lowest state before death, I joined another Sonic forum, which I too would ultimately become an administrator of. Just recently I retired however; it's starting to have The Wasteland Effect as well <3 Both these forums could never hope to have the stability, staff and member base activity I've seen on here, so, looking back, it's sadly inevitable I suppose.
     
    Anyway, I joined a third Sonic forum, to duel myself with the second. But eventually, MLP hit me smack in the face. Good bye, Sonic, I was with you and only you for several years (well that's a lie, Naruto too, but I never really joined any Naruto sites for some odd reason) but now ponies have come, and the cuddling must commence.
     
    We now arrive here. The final age. The age of the ponies. With my first ever forum dead (might be revived, might not, the owner doesn't know yet what he wants to do), and my second one having retired from, I'm now left with my third Sonic forum (of which my activity has dwindled down to near-lurker status), this place, Youtube, DeviantART, FIMFiction, and a few other places.
     
    Hmmm. I suppose the last thing I never made clear was the OCD in the title. Well you see, I inherited generalized anxiety from my mom, as well as a tinge of OCD. So yeah, 'obsession' was a nice way to describe my attachment to the internet for the first two ages, constantly sitting on sites and waiting for something new to happen, a new topic, or a new message while I browse around. It was this, that the image for this blog entry came from. Discord is awaiting for the epicness of a new message to happen.
     
    I've gotten better in all sorts of ways from then though, in both writing and general maturity. Proud to say I think I'm growing into a fine young master mind, who now has the tools to overthrow Feld0 and claim the throne for himself person.
     
    Congratulations. If you've read this far it means you can free yourself from the rambling, and go do something slightly more productive than reading the mind ooze of a Draconequus. My hands are going to disown me pretty soon, so, that's all folks. Thanks for taking an interest in this craziness.

    I knew this was a good idea. Here I am, sitting here with nothing else to blog about off the top of my head yet, so, might as well go for the next round of art showcases. I believe I'll stick to the five pictures amount, it seems like a decent amount, given the text and captions that goes along with each one.     "Why hello there, you sure are brash and to the 'point', aren't you?" Discord chortled to himself, effortlessly grabbing the changeling's rigid horn with his eagle claw to stop her attempts of impaling him in the chest.
    "Leave my kingdom, abomination, trespassers are not tolerated here!" The queen spat, venom dripping from her voice as she bared her sharp fangs.
    "Oh come now, Chryssie, there's no need to be that way," The Draconequus said casually. "Why fight me when we both have such a common enemy, so close to home?"
     
    This piece is very eye-catching, using very distinctive colors, as well as a powerful glow effect on the character's eyes. The concept of Discord fighting against Chrysalis is a popular concept, that almost rivals the concept of them teaming up to take down Celestia, and I believe the former theme is captured almost to a T in this piece. This is most of all shown through the poses. While Discord remains completely calm and relaxed in posture, Chrysalis clearly initiated the attack, far less calm and composed than the King of Chaos. In that sense, the essence of their personalities are captured perfectly.

    A Hard Day's Work by RegolithX
     
     
    "Oh, Rainbow Dash, I'm exhausted...can we maybe take just the tiniest break? Oh, um, if that's okay, I mean." Fluttershy whispered, flopping herself down into the puffiness of a young cloud.
    "Alright, but I gotta get the rest of these clouds sorted by the end of the day. Don't take too long, okay?" Dash responded, laying down and leaning down on a slightly steeper cloud, to smile down at her exhausted childhood friend.
     
    The pink and white in this piece do a fantastic job of setting that feeling of tranquility and peace. But that's actually not what captures my praise the most, nor is it the characters. If you look closely, you can see the shadow firmly being cast down from both Dash & Fluttershy as they sit on the clouds. This attention to detail in the light really makes this stand out, and makes it all the more visually realistic as well as appealing.

    "Hai Rainbow Dash!" Came the pleasant, simple voice of Derpy. Accompanying that voice was the feeling of a mouth biting down gently on Rainbow Dash's tail. The azure pony's ears twitched.
    "...Derpy? What in the hay are you doing?" The weather pony asked, her brows furrowing into a fine line.
    "I'm tastin' the Rainbow, Rainbow Dash! It tastes like...like skittles!"
     
    Asides from being cute, this piece is just a simple focus on the two characters themselves. I think the expressions of all things were nailed perfectly, both Dashie's irritability at her fellow pegasi's playful and somewhat strange behavior, and Derpy's trademark simple love for fun.

    Reading Rainbow by brutaldeeds
     
     
    "Hey there egghead. Wait, you're still reading? You've been reading all day!" Came the cracky voice of a certain blue pegasus. She trotted over right next to where a purple unicorn pony had settled herself on the ground, nose pressed into a book.
    "Sorry Rainbow, this book about the ancient history of unicorns is talking about the coalition between two main unicorn kingdoms, thousands of years ago. It's truly fascinating to learn about-"
    "Yeah yeah, mwhatever, mregghead." Twilight blushed, as she felt a nibbling on her ear. She couldn't help but giggle. "Now, are you gonna take a break, or do I have to take the book away from you?"
     
    I really like Rainbow's expression. To me, it shows her own idea of playfulness, that can sometimes seem a bit more blatant or forceful than other ponies. I may be looking too far into it, but it just suits Rainbow. Does she wait for Twilight to finish her book? No, she's Rainbow Dash. She's gonna get in your face and distract you, cause she craves your attention right now.

    "Come on Rainbow Dash! Tell me more about the Captain of the Wonderbolts!" Came the excited voice of a young orange filly, sitting on her flank and looking on with wide eyes.
    "Heh, Spitfire? Well kid, let's just say that next to me, she's the coolest pegasus in all of Equestria!" A confident and boastful blue mare explained, posing for her naive but cute admirer. "They say she once went so fast, her mane caught fire, and set the tips of tree branches aflame as she soared on by!"
    "Whoa!" The orange filly exclaimed.
    "And they say that that's why her mane is the way it is, resembling flickering flames! I suppose you could call it...the Infernal Fireboom! Or, ya know, somethin' like that. Not that it's as cool as my Rainboom, mind you!"
     
    This piece is truly intense to just look at. The flames surrounding Spitfire, lighting up her serious expression and those glass eyes are very intimidating. I really like the fact it's a head shot bust as well, giving the illusion that most of her body is actually hidden among the intense inferno, and that you can only see her face over the top of the blaze. Overall it captures her essence and namesake well, and I definitely had to include this one.

    As I sit here listening to more pony music, I began to realize something. In 'Best Cute Pony Pictures' and 'Post All Your Funny pony Pictures', I often use my amazing writing skills to caption images with the scene it paints in my mind. I then thought to myself how uneventful this blog of mine would become, when I can barely think of entry ideas to ramble on about most of the time. So, I decided to use the fact that DeviantART is one of my main websites I visit daily, and my captioning habit, to create this new blog series I plan on doing from now on.
     
    In addition to my rambling I will continue to due like basic blogs, I will now periodically post art of amazing, funny or cute ponies from DeviantART *in spoilers, cause Imma nice guy*. I will then caption the art with my personal thoughts *which can be anywhere from a sentence to multiple sentences*, link back to the artist's original art page, and also give my brief thoughts on the art piece. And of course, all you peeps are more than welcome to comment with your thoughts on favorites, thoughts on quotations, what have you.
     
    These entries will have their own specific Entry Category called 'Art Showcasing', so that people can choose to look at only them, and not everything, ramblings and all.
     
    Speaking of ramblings, I'll shut up and get on with the very first entry, now.

    Celestia by CuteSkitty
     
     
    Regal and magnificent, the soft-appearance of the Monarch of the Sun was eternal. Over two-thousand years old, and still possessive of a face more beautiful than the heavens themselves, Princess Celestia raises and lowers the majestic sun with a reflective smile upon her face, each and every day.
     
    I stumbled upon this piece earlier yesterday and I was blown away. This is one of the most beautiful paintings of Celestia I have ever seen, and I just can't stop looking at it. The warmth and tranquility that comes off of her figure, the colors, and her expression truly captures the essence of her character, and I'm really glad to have found this piece.

    Running of the Leaves by LeviosaRose
     
     
    The pounding of hooves against the ground was deafening. This, matched with the flurry of brightly colored leaves dancing around her face made it so Rainbow Dash could barely keep her focus on the orange farm pony just out of her reach. She just had to catch her-no, she had to beat her. There was no way the cowgirl was gonna beat her out. She was the true Iron Pony!
     
    'Vibrant' and 'Dem eyes' are the first two thoughts to me when I look at this piece. I love the kinetic energy in this piece, which is made possible through the excellent poses, colors, and the leaf positions. I also think the expressions are dead-on, as AJ smirks triumphantly at getting ahead of the cranky and hot-headed Dash just behind her.

    The Timberwolf Chase-Journey of the Spark Concept by Ellebethe
     
     
    Her erratic panting had grown to the point of a lowly whine. The unicorn's feet burned with fatigue, and only got worse with each and every step. Through the trees, out into the dimly lit stream, and to the other side. It didn't matter how fast she went; the glowing eyes of the Timberwolves snaked after her silently wherever she went.
     
    Desperation, the primary goal of this piece was captured perfectly in not only Twilight's face, but the impending doom coming from the pursuing Timberwolves. The farthest to the right, the one slinking down the slope while staring after the pony is truly where the real sense of desperation comes from. I've always loved the Timberwolves, and I hope we get to see or hear more about them in future episodes. I enjoy seeing beautiful art of them.

    Look, Scootaloo. Everything the light touches is Celestia's Kingdom. A princess's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Scootaloo, everything the light touches will be yours. /Obviousreferences
     
    The vastness I get from this peace is very stunning. There's a lot of depth given into the endless field of clouds, and seeing Rainbow and Scoots sitting down in the lower right with the sun and stars all converging with each other in the distance is all beautiful. I still want to see Dash and Scoots develop a surrogate sister relationship, or at the very least, see Dash teach Scoots how to fly. Oh well, one can hope.

    Last piece of the day? Who else but Discord? I love a lot of things about this peace. Discord's expression, and the crossed out eye to give him an eerie puppet-like appearance is very creepy. His posture, and the way his legs were drawn were very menacing. Lastly, his gigantic wings are make him seem a lot bigger than he actually is, similar to a peacock fluffing it's tail feathers, and I like that.

    . Apart from two quotes by Celestia, it's instrumental. Listening to it right now, and being the lazy thing I am, stole the title idea for my blog since I'm creatively impaired right now <3 
    Anyway, not totally sure what it is I'm going to be doing this evening. My sleep schedule has been completely and utterly non-existent for two months now, ever since I said arrivederci to high school, and have yet to find a place willing to hire my chaotic hind-quarters. Sometimes I go on a third-shift type schedule, acting nocturnal, staying up all night and sleeping through the afternoon, then waking up in the evening. Other times I join the world of the living and get up normally, a little before noon *yes, that is normal in my crazy standards*. I got my mom sucked into watching moar ponies last night but she had to go to bed for work. She wants to watch Sweet and Elite. Maybe we'll do that a little later.
     
    Let's see, what else.
     
    Oh, as far as this handsome and excellently executed blog goes, I added some custom widgets down on the right for works I've done, as well as big discussion topics of mine. Just for fun.

    What a fine day for blogging. And what an equally fine day for there to be the best blog of all; the blog of Discord.
     
    Welcome, welcome, ponies. Don't forget to wipe your feet on the carpet on your way out. I just blow-dried it, so be gentle.
     
    Let's see, today I was awoken to find that I had slept right through my volunteering job that I've been doing for a while now. Thing is, the community service hours and work recommendation I wanted out of the deal, I now have, so in a lot of ways, I'm finding it hard to care. I'd much rather finally land a job that's going to pay me money, so that Discord can have more pizzas. But until such a time comes, I probably won't quit this job, as I'd feel just awful quitting on those poor people. Oh my, I think I'd feel like such a jerk.
     
    I then went to the park with le family. I walked around listening to pony music for quite some time, then got addicted to Angry Birds on my mom's Kindle. Goddamn pigs.
