I've found some good buys for merch on amazon and ebay. Ebay has a little more potential for unlicensed things or not exactly kosher ones I think though. 

Do the old D&D standby. Cursed artifact slowly changes something into a villain. Or maybe some angry Elementals.

I used to work night shifts ( 11pm - 7am) in the hotel field at the front desk, so I am very, very used to sleeping during the mornings. Having kids and job changes turns that around though. Now it's usually 1am or so, up at 7am. Depends on the work schedule too though.

I would agree with that yes. I've always seem them as more of characters of tragedy than of comedy. It was an odd growing up, I know people who like clowns for what they perceive them to be, but I can't change my perception of what they seem to me. So reading 'It' for me was a bit of a challenge because of the main antagonist. But it was worth it :).

And I agree if they did that with the 3hr movie and sequel it would be awesome. Still waiting with a hopeful heart for the Dark Tower too

I read the book ages ago, I'll have to pick it up again and see how well it stands the test of time and nostalgia. I'm still on the fence whether to see the new movie in theaters or wait for the dvd release so I don't make a fool of myself in the theater. I'm not overly fond of clowns.

How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: During my divorce it became a show that my two daughters and I bonded over.

I'm an old gamer / cartoon enthusiast. My hobbies are yelling at kids to get off my lawn, complaining about that hippity hoppity music, and napping.  And maybe a bit of storytelling . I'm not really that grumpy, but I have an easier time talking to people face to face then I do on the internet like this. The protocols are different. I enjoy reading (fantasy / sci-fi), music of almost all kinds, drawing (horribly), and with any luck this will be my first year going to a pony convention. 

It is a pleasure to meet all of you, and I look forward to some good conversations in the future.
