Any races on the show you didn't like?

I liked all the races on the show. Now, the movie on the other hoof... edit: but to be fair this is discussion on the show, so if I had to pick a least favorite, it'd maybe be the Hippogriffs (nevermind that they're from the movie technically) also yeah I kinda agree with above posts that the way the races were handled is potentially more of an issue, although I don't think it's such a bad thing they get most of their change from ponies. Ponies are the stars of the show after all, so it's kind of natural from a story telling point of view. -
This episode has me messed up. Seeing the mane 6 older... and Twilight just bigger and not getting wrinkles... Seems to confirm what most of us always assumed to be true. Twilight's gonna out live her friends...? Crushes my heart to think about it. But I'm sure they have many many years ahead. And that's okay. Looking at the episode objectively, I think they did it as good as they could have. It really highlights how life is like a book, and goes through changes. Even ends eventually. But we can be glad that it happened. And we can expect a new generation to carry on with new experiences. A little sad. A lot happy. Great episode. Great show. -
Had a pony dream last night. This might have been my first one. Twilight was hosting some kind of friendship picnic at a park, but when she got there early to prepare she saw some fighting between other park goers. They were strait hoofing and kicking each other so she froze them in place with her magic and explained the magic of friendship, etc.
Then Applejack showed up and Twi was so excited to see her she ran over and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Wha was that for, Twilight?"
"Nothing, I'm just so happy we don't fight like some other ponies do."
Short but cute dream.

Fun fact, introverts can totally love being with other people and socializing. It's just whether or not doing so energizes us or drains us. (in our case it's draining). Yeah I'm an introvert. I love my friends, but I can only enjoy time with them about once a week. I need time alone to recharge! -
That's an interesting thought, and I think I'd like it if Rainbow was of Weather more than just plain Loyalty. But realistically though, I think it would be tied to their elements just like Twilight's is. After all, she's Princess of Friendship, not Magic (even if those two things are supposedly one in the same). -
Finally got around to watching the movie. I gotta say, I'm kinda on team disappointment with this one. The vibe just felt off. Twilight seemed to act a little out of character, and wow, they sure did give Pinkie Pie a lot of the spot light.
Also, I'm all for introducing new species, but why the heck were there so many humanoids?! Like... I know they come from outside Equestria, but seeing so many characters walk up right and have hands all of the sudden felt strange to me.
That's just my two cents on it. It was decently enjoyable, just didn't quite fit the rest of the show in my mind.

I agree 110% it felt like we were back in season 1 or 2 by the behavior of the characters and their temperament. Twilight seriously disappointed me because MLP is supposed to teach kids good morals and positive socialization. Seriously, Twilight - TRYING TO JUSTIFY THEFT?!
However there does exist moments IRL when pressure can escalate to a point where rational thinking is overwritten.

@Shabb3r Yeah! You get it! That theft part really shocked me. And I know she's kinda come close to that before, but at the point of growth she was supposed to be at in this, it's hard to imagine the pressure being enough to cause her to do it.

A bit of the S1/S2-like stuff is reasonable; you have to assume some of the audience won't have seen MLP before, and will need a character sketch for each of the Mane 6 to get to know them (the We Got This song is good for that, Twi's freakout and failed presentation introduced the four alicorns nicely, and we got a whole bunch of cameos).
On the down side, some of the characterization was poor; Fluttershy's snark in the first few minutes isn't characteristic, and she was reduced to a yey machine for most of the rest of the movie. And as for the attempted theft - WTF ALLSPARK??? That is NOT an acceptable characterization for a Mane character, especially for an audience that may not be familiar with them. Given how many YEARS they were working on this script, what they managed to come up with was sucky in many many ways. The storm king sucked, and was basically a cardboard cutout of a villain, and capper was meh; given the buildup, they could have done more with that character.
On the upside - Skylar is awesome, and almost out-pinkies Pinkie; the pirate birds are good, Tempest was both credible and incredible at once, with her redemption competely within the MLP ethos... and arching over all that, the animation, the backdrops, the sheer ART of it all - there aren't any words. It's overall a good film, which makes it all the more regrettable that it wasn't a GREAT film, and it could have been... if the script hadn't sucked.

I'm rewatching the series and Light of Your Cutie Mark has become one of my new favorite songs. Right up there with Flawless. I don't know why I barely listened to it the first time around. It's really good!

Single Status Update (How do I make one)

I was confused about this too. It turns out you first have to turn it on in your profile settings! First go to your profile, then hit edit profile (should be upper right corner of your banner). There under basic info is a toggle switch that says "Enable status updates?" If you flip that on and save, then "Status" should appear as the first option under the Create tab. -

I'm a newly converted Pinkie fan. Like some of you here I found her to be nothing but annoying at first, then I grew used to her but still didn't fully appreciate her. After catching up with the series and now rewatching from the beginning, every episode with her in it that I rewatch I realize more and more what an amazing character she is. I love how she's always on the verge of forth wall breaking, but never quite that far. She always seems to know what's up, and understands situations or plot devices when the other ponies don't. It's freakin' hilarious to see her move an episode along in her own unique way, always acting like she's being random but to us, almost seeming all-knowing at times. The best example I can think of right now is the episode about Fluttershy's stage fright. Pinkie rambles, "it's not like ..." and then proceeds to name every little think Flutter is afraid of, exaggerating details as she does it. TL;DR It took until my second time through the series, but I now love Pinkie as much as any other pony in the show. Echoes of Mine by mirroredsea -

Hearts as Strong as Horses is another one I really like. Second or third to Flawless. (Probably third actually, second would be Winter Wrap up!) -
Has anypony heard the rumors about gen 5? I just learned about it myself! (maybe spoilers if you don't want any clues as to what's to come, but of course this is all rumors)

@Fluttershy Friend I think I agree with you, but at the same time I'm trying to keep an open mind. After all, it was change and new ideas that brought us gen 4 in the first place.

How long have you been into animating? That gif is pretty good! Also side note: at my retail job a Product Protection Plan is referred to as a PPP. Now I'm gonna be thinking Pinkie Pie Party when my boss asks me if I sold any PPPs today.
