*Why it is your OPINION she is a bad character I think you have a little bit of an "expectation clause" going on here and your comparing her personality and standards and behaviors to that of the Mane 6 and other ponies, and the fact that she was one of the only villains they bothered to even attempt to throw in a back story for and it didn't live up to your standards or expectations, I saw on your profile season 1 was your favorite season and that explains a lot to me, tell me what gives any of these villains more depth philosophically based off of CANON ALONE that makes them have more depth than Starlight Glimmer, without bringing up some weird delusional Luna fanfic portraying her as the complete opposite character the shows consistency will tell us she is... You most likely can not do this in a way that can't be easily debated... Now her as a "reformation character" has it's inconsistencies but the writers are at fault for using her abundant magical talent for plot material, but they just had the ability to do this with her so quickly because of how multi dimensional her character truly was... I mean it's cool if you don't like her, I even lightweight understand on the backstory tip, but nitpicking her emotional and selfish decisions, I mean she's Trixies best friend for a reason? Quit comparing her and pretending like she should be a carbon copy of Twilight, Ember...

Permanently no, but if there was some type of two dimensional or four dimensional (like gumball) experience where I could be an animated pony in Equestria and switch back to the human realm, yeah, I think most people would, I would like various perspectives on "different realities"... Lol

"Thank you." This is why the characters lacking back stories completely, or that are entirely motivated by self interest aren't less shallow than Starlight, you have to head Canon a lot for ALL these villains.... To even slightly justify/comprehend why they did what they did

It's alright, I mean if you've just seen some TYT than it's not really the tell for what they've done and are trying to do in MyM, the characters changing VA was one thing that hurt in the transition from A New Generation to Make Your Mark, from "my take" MyM is a lot more about their personalities and the Dynamics of how they play off each other, the broken up plot lines and slice of life issues, it's a show you have to watch in a specific order unlike the g.4 fills between the opener and finale, it all plays into part of a "larger story" than many individual premises, ironically enough Izzy made the first canonical reference the other day in TyT about "being a box once" lol but it's the entire way the story is told that makes them different, they are just two completely different breeds of kids show in my opinion, both I'm fond of, but the literal only similarity is the ponies and that pony aesthetic, everything else about how the plot is structured and how the stories are told are completely different.... What's doing it for me are the character personalities and designs, the plot is predictable with to much convenience and unnecessary plot tools, literally using Sparkys existence as one is the biggest scar on the story so far... But I enjoy the characters for who they are shaping up to be, hopefully they can introduce more unique slice of life or wacky magical situations to the show that help us explore the depth of this characters, I have a lot of ideas that could be explored with the existing Mane 5...

Clearly you didn't read any of my insight, why can't people make a fraction of headcanon for Starlight but they can make entire books about the shows worst character? If you think Starlight just literally as a filly, lost her friend and said, "I'm going to start a cult of equality" your seriously lacking depth OR you just hate Starlight on face That's an agree to disagree then because aside from Sombra I think Nightmare Moon is the shows most lazily uninspired villains who lives off Faust clout

That I largely won't refute, but I'm holding true to the fact that Starlight's Canon "in the show" is better than Nightmare Moons as well as many other villains
