I absolutely hate this argument that some have brought up here, since day one. “You will enjoy it if you keep your expectations low”. You should absolutely expect a great film the way the creators have been hyping this up. You shouldn’t settle for the mediocrity we just unfortunately got with MLP: The Movie.
Dont you feel let down that there was an art book that showed a beautiful and innovative movie and that was scrapped for something that was so generic (albeit with nice music and animation)? Doesn’t it resonate the fact that they said it would be an actual movie and not just a 95 min episode, and yet, it was exactly the latter means they lied to fans? This movie only re-affirmed haters’ opinions rather than defied them (which the original concept would have done).
I don’t mind liking it but giving this movie an 8/10 just because you’re a fan or “it’s for kids” shows that you’re content with MLP being exactly what it was in G1/G2.
Probably one of the worst films I've seen all year. Arguably as bad as Emoji. Glad I saw it online instead of wasting money for a ticket.
Just Kidding. It was actually pretty good. 7 or 8 out of 10 still not sure. I am paying for a ticket though.
After hearing the soundtrack, I am positive it will be fresh on RT, maybe even Certified Fresh (remember, RT is not an overall score but a percentage of critics that "liked" the film, meaning that it can still have a 90% with an average rating of 7/10).
Spongebob's second movie came out when the franchise was at it's lowest and it still made over $300 million.
Powerpuff Girls movie came out at a bad time period and had zero advertising or star power.
