  1. Samurai Jack was my favorite show when I was growing up.  But ironically, I didn't get to seeing all of the episodes from Season 1-4 until a few years ago.

I was along for the ride, seeing all of the episodes aired when they did.  It was pretty hype and fun on the first few episodes, but it just couldn't keep it up.  The thing is, it felt too rushed; they packed a 15/20 episode season into 10.  Especially the final episode, where too much was smashed together.

Overall, it could have been handled better, but I thought it was good.  It's better than the likely alternative of having no conclusion!  The fact we got a final season after all these years is a miracle.

  2. As much as I really enjoyed the film, it was far from perfect.  But then again, it was made for the MLP crowd, instead of a general audience (edit: or I should say many of the errors are because much of the film assumes you are a fan of the show; there are some serious flaws that are independent of how much you knew about MLP:FiM before you came into the theater).

At the end of the day  MLP is a cartoon aimed at kids in the U.S. (or, more broadly, at Western countries) and as such has to be relatable to them, including in slang and the like.

I do think, however, it's done an admirable job of conveying a recognizable society, yet one where sentient ponies, magic, and fantastic creatures exist. Or example, holidays and life milestones that seem plausible within their world, but we could imagine ourselves celebrating something similar.

To add to this, while it would be nice to see a high fantasy MLP:FiM, the reality is it probably would not be successful towards its target audience (younger girls) if it were so.  Let's be honest, you don't see younger girls reading stuff in the same vein as Tolkien, Brandon Sanderson, or George R. R. Martin, et cetera.  And for the show being about friendship, one could argue that a high fantasy setting (or more particular, a plot-heavy epic-fantasy setting) may detract from its ability to showcase morals or themes about friendship.

Having to get an external hard drive for my PS4 made me realize just how much bigger games are now than they were in the NES-SNES days.

I usually delete the games I don't or haven't played in a while to save space, so I never had a space problem.  Though that may change for the Switch, just due to how little space it has.

Yeah, I do. I wake up to music, work to music, travel to music, relax to music, sometimes eat to music, and sleep to music. I'm always listening to music. :P

TPAM has watched live theatre shows before.

Unfortunately no, but I'd like to sometime.

    TPAM plays board games.

Aw, well I hope you're able to write one in the future and make the dream come true. :kindness: I'm sure many here on the forums are willing to critique your work if you ask them! :fluttershy:

Well, it's strange to begin one's writing career in the fanfic section of a fandom.  But, my stuff is at least influenced by the show, so they would probably enjoy it, and it wouldn't be the worst option for me.

Almost never.  Too boring for me.  :nom:

TPAM listens to a lot of music.

  7. Coincidentally, I just mentioned my desire for writing stories elsewhere on the forums.

Unfortunately, I don't actually write, but I so wish to.  My problem is, where would I go to share my stories, particularly for critiques (outside of friends and family, of course)?  To top it off with the fact that I've been reading relatively far more than I usually do, then I have to give a "no."

TPAM loves reading fanfics (can be of other fandoms).

  8. I'm not sure if I can either say that the show has or hasn't had much of an impact on me.  There's been something charming about the show, something which has impacted me in a more general sense, but I'm not sure how impactful.

But if the show was never around, I can only say I doubt much would change for me.

  9. It's a thing among people to be as pessimistic as possible; fear is, indeed, the strongest emotion of them all.

However, the community will shrink.  This is a given.  G5 may change that, but we cannot know for sure.  Instead, the community will adapt and change in line with the changing circumstances.  So while the Brony community even 10 years from now will be radically different, it will still be the Brony community, but better attuned to it's more niche status at the very least.
