  1. It's been pretty problematic thus far. Do you have any pets?
  2. No, that's the one where AJ acts extremely out of character to the point where she destroys somepony's fashion project. Yes, but insulting Pinkie and Rares was a bit TOO far for me, and it was kind of hard to believe Fluttershy would become an entirely new pony just after one day. Okay, so Dragon Quest would have to be the LEAST bad for me out of the three, but still, it was boring, forgettable, and had a messed up moral, which are all things I expect FiM to steer away from.
  3. I've heard that a lot.... but I don't really see RD being honest THAT much. I honestly think Laughter's more suitable for her.
  4. If the show were to introduce the concept of "switching Elements" so often brought up in the fandom, what would be the most fitting and believable way from them to do it if everypony had a different Element? Here's what I think: Pinkie Pie= Honesty. Rainbow Dash= Laughter. Rarity= Magic. Twilight Sparkle= Kindness. Applejack= Loyalty. Fluttershy= Generosity.
  5. I'm about to watch the  MLP Movie for the fourth time. Just gotta get my popcorn and then I'm set!

@Phosphor If you have Amazon Prime you can watch it there, and it's released in chunks on Dailymotion. I'm also pretty sure Letupita725HD has a playlist for it.

I'd recommend it, so if you have the time, go ahead and give it a watch! :-D

    3. Lucky Bolt

      Lucky Bolt

I've seen it three times already! The song with Sia at the end is my favorite song from the movie, btw. And Time to be Awesome. :sneer:

@Lucky Bolt Both are great songs! I love rewatching the Movie to find all the little animation details and character dialogue.

    Muffin?

I actually don't like muffins that much, so I don't mind giving them out.
  7. Hopefully, because judging by what's been said, I'm pretty hyped for it. I guess we'll only know if it's good or not when the time comes...
  8. Yes. Favorite episode from least favorite show?
  9. @TheAnimationFana Funny, as I didn't see the episode as being THAT bad. Sure, it wasn't that great, but I thought it was an accurate characterization of Rainbow, her friends, and the Wonderbolts. Don't see why so many people hate it so much.
  10. A mediocre episode might have bad storytelling/writing, but it still has a few enjoyable elements that make it worth watching. Episodes that are mediocre in my opinion would be Apple Family Reunion, Fake It 'Til You Make It, Simple Ways, and others. A downright awful one (although MLP does well in not having a lot of these) may be excruciatingly boring, terribly offensive, or all of the above. Episodes like that for me would be Dragon Quest, Putting Your Hoof Down, Honest Apple, and just a few others. What I'm trying to say is that a mediocre episode might not be especially memorable or fantastic, but it doesn't swoop as low as to be cruel, offensive, or boring to the point of pain. Sorry, but what is "That Episode That Shall Not Be Named"?
  11. Love: Carousel Boutique. Wish Rare's friends had a bigger role in this. Hate: Triple Threat. FINALLY the show acknowledges how similar some of the characters are!
  12. I feel like I'm in the minority when it comes to G5. I'm actually pretty exited for it, and I really don't care when G4 ends, I just want a quality sendoff.
  13. My review of The Journal of the Two Sisters (spoiler free)

I just got done reading The Journal of the Sisters by Amy Keating Rogers and would like to give it a quick review. Overall, the book was quite entertaining. A lot of world building was revealed, but if you were picking up this book to journey into Luna's mind of jealousy for her sister, you would not find it here. Even so, I really enjoyed this book. It was a pretty fast read (as most MLP books are), but even with the read being fast, it still explored so much about the two princesses and the world of Equestria. Now for a list of likes and dislikes!

What I liked about the book

    • A lot of world building explored
    • Different sides of Luna and Celestia revealed (Celesia being a bookworm and Luna being a prankster)
    • The writing style of Amy Keating Rogers suits the book well and benefits it
    • A fun, quick read

What I disliked about the book

    • Although the fun, light hearted tone overall benefited the book, I wish some of the darker area's of Luna's mind were explored
    • Some confusion with Celly and Moonbutt being alicorns, as in the show it was treated like they didn't know about the birth of an alicorn.

Overall, I'd recommend the book, and if you don't want to buy it, a YouTube channel called Midnight Solace has an audio read of it.

  14. Why Rarity is awesome

Ah, Rarity. The pony who loves fashion, drama, and business. These may seem like odd priorities for the Element of Generosity, but that's what I love about her. She balances the traits that must be played out as the Element of Generosity, but, like practically all of the Mane 6, she springs to life with her own traits not defined by her Element. Now, you may be asking how that makes Rarity great, as I previously stated most of the Mane 6 have traits outside their own Element. And that's just the thing.

Rarity's own personal accomplishments, goals, and basically everything outside of her generous spirit would lead you in the complete opposite direction of what her Element would be. Funny enough, Rarity's original Element was gong to be inspiration, but it was changed to generosity. Looking at Rarity's other traits, I can easily see why Faust was going to chose that Element for her. Rarity's creativity, dramatic nature, and large amount of costumers that are inspired by her all play in to inspiration being the go to Element.

Now let's go back to what makes Rarity great. Just like Rainbow Dash, Rarity initially did not have a friendly exterior. She came off as snooty, privileged, and hoity - toity, as seen in Sweet and Elite, Sisterhooves Social, Sonic Rainboom, Look Before You Sleep, and others. However, let's look at Rarity now.

As seen in Campfire Tales, she brings a considerably lesser amount of belongings than as seen in Sleepless in Ponyville. She proves time and time again just what her Element means, as shown recently in Best Gift Ever!. Not only that, but Rarity spits on your typical "damsel in distress" or "girly girl" trope so wonderfully. I know this has been mentioned a lot as an excellent reason to love Rarity, but let me just rephrase. Rarity has proven time and time again that while she indulges in girly habits and might need saving a little more than the rest of the Mane 6, she is still a strong, feminist icon that is perfect for little girls to look up to. Take "A Canterlot Wedding" when she puts up a good fight against the changelings, the premiere where she fights the manticore, and most notably, the entirety of "A Dog and Pony Show". These episodes all show how Rarity is a great character for girls to look up to.

Sure, Rarity is girly, I'm not denying that. But what she isn't is materialistic, air-headed, or vindictive or cruel, which are all common traits of "girly girls" in some cartoons. Rarity destroys this trope, and that's why I love her.

Well, that concludes my second character study. Sorry if I'm repeating a lot of what's already been said, I guess I'm just trying to enforce it.

Next I'll be doing Twilight Sparkle.

Loved it! And Rarity approves :darling:

@Lucky Bolt Thanks again! I'm glad Rarity approves of my content.

  15. To be honest, I think that the perfect 200th episode would be for them to bring Faust back to write it, just as an appreciation for the show's original creator. As for the story, well maybe something like Crusaders of the Lost Mark, where a character achieves their lifelong dream. (i.e. Rainbow Dash becoming captain of the Wonderbolts). Just something that would generally please everyone, not like Slice of Life where it was obviously geared towards hardcore fans.
