    Actually, Equestria is based on North America. This is clearly shown on the map. Of course it isn’t a copy-paste, it has its own things, but you can really tell that it was heavily inspired by the North American Continent. Just look at the Tenochtitlan basin on the south. Tenochtitlan it’s the capital of the Aztec Empire which once bloomed in central Mexico. They’re not really that far from reality, even though they’re technically wrong, when they say that it’s the US.
