I do like G5, but if Chris Cocks is bored, then success will be a part of that. MLP:FiM dominated the Hub network at a time when that network held its own against the big players (here), creating a lot of love for the brand by the Hasbro's higher ups, who featured it among their success stories.
Come G5, while there has been some success with the movie, the rest hasn't bedded down anywhere near as well as FiM did (eg, it is virtually invisible in the UK). That's not a problem with the content of G5 necessarily, but is due to many factors making it tough to be the kind of company Hasbro was in 2011, I think. There's so many different players in kiddie media and toys is harder and Hasbro as a company is changing and... well it's ancient pony history
It'd be nice if Hasbro'd sell MLP off to people who love the brand and can grow it. Until then, there's other pony things

Sufjan Stevens - Chicago
Thanks to @abronymouse and their recommendation of Sufjan Stevens' "Love Yourself" (which is also awesome!)
@Starlight Serenade loves Sufjan too!
so I gotta share one of my top ten sufjan songs (from my favourite album by him). It's a song rarely too far from being stuck in my head...

Thank you for your kind words, Dawnshine. I wish and hope others respect their real name, in addition to others who wish to go by their real/preferred name as well
Oh I love Sufjan Stevens! One of my favorite songs from them is "Chicago". They're such a lovely artist and I appreciate this song! Lastly, I currently identify as nonbinary, but don't fret as I just updated my profile to match this so more people are aware. I've been going through a long journey and learning more about myself.
eyy another Sufjan fan
I love Chicago too.
and thanks for letting me know you're NB, the journey is awesome. In that case, amen, sibling

Yes, there is a lot of strife in the world and our own personal lives, but there is a lot of peace, love, and good that we are capable of giving and sharing with one another. After all the rain, I can see the beautiful rainbow.

yup!
I have a big garden and its one of the main things I do outdoors.
I am super proud of my record, too
this year and the last I helped lay three patios, over 200 turfs and getting up to 100 plants. I do this with my family, of course... because that'd be crazy without help
but I <3 being outdoors and I love to see the work pay off
when it comes to plant care and such.... there are better ponies at that. I can be a bit of a brute

Some of the games were a bit weird. I had a whole thing with the gulleys in the swimming pool, making waves go into them.
Nevermind the inflatables, or.. swimming, it was one of my favourite things to do in the pool
just splashing water into the gulleys. Fancy pools don't seem to have them, but the UK public swimming baths were full of them.

Nevar! Okay, my last really real one was in 1990 (primary school friend), but then I made a few in school, even though they were quite short-term ones, so I'll say the last one was in 1998. It was nice, I do kinda miss that feeling
well, I'm friendly enough, but I'm a big ole introvert who prefers playing with their imaginary ponies than dealing with people
unlike the IMO *poorly named @Ice Princess Silky <3, I have no prescription for how to make friends with me or what my expectations are. If you like ponies, it's a start, though!

that is crazy! you're one of the warmest pony types I've met! I mean... it is an internet fandom, so that's not a huge compliment
but still... I think they must be just mad that you don't spend more time with 'em
*the Ice bit, not the Silky bit. Although that could be improved by an extra 'l'

What are your fave songs about the Mane 6?
Or... at least top 10 (because fave is toooo hard!)
Mine:
Pinkie
Those who know me, know Pinkie's my fave. She's a chaotic, fun pony and I found this song around the same time I found electro-swing as a genre (it is awesome) and it was a big part of drawing me into the fandom. I will always associate bronies with this song.
QuoteFluttershy
This song is about one of my favourite Fluttershy episodes, and it is by a composer I love whether it is pony or not (which is very unusual!). The tender power of this pony nets her a lot of fans and some amazing fan music, but who does tender power like the Aviators?
QuoteTwilight
This pony was my first mane pony preference, long before I settled on Pinkie. She's a wonderful protagonist who drew me into the world of pony through the wonderfulness that is FiM. And my favourite song for her is a remix of one of the best songs in the show, by the strangely obscure artist And The Rainfall (and ofc the OG is by ultimate musical kahuna, Daniel Ingram)
QuoteRainbow Dash
Rainbow Dash is the sharp extroverted edge to the nerdy cutesiness of the show, and she has some of the best songs that peer into her depths. She's not my favourite pony, but she is one of my favourite subjects of pony songs. I could go with so many, but I'll settle for a recent one.
QuoteRarity
Rarity is the most cross-gen of the ponies. Tabitha St Germain, her voice actor, added so much to Gen 3, and if you love this character then I strongly suggest that you check out G3. My hoofness, if she isn't one of the stars of G4 too, though. This pony, not Pinkie, is the one to watch for the best jokes. However, like her Gen 3 portrayals, Rarity lacks a lot of the depth of the other chars, which has left her lacking in the fandom love department. IMO songs are no exception to this, but there are still some fabulous ones. My pick is a total cheat, as the artist does amazing songs about all the Mane 6, but the one about Rarity is particularly good.
QuoteApplejack
Applejack episodes are my consistent favourites of the series, because they frequently cover the topic of family and childhood, which are topics I love to cover in my own writing. I have a big sis' and a momma whom I associate with this strong, feminine, figure. Applejack and Dashie are Faust's legacy to pony, but Applejack is the perfection of Bonnie Zacherle's ideal, while Dashie subverts it, and I much prefer AJ to Dashie as a character as a result. Anyhoof, my favourite song about this pony is inevitably a tear jerker... individuals may pass, but families never die.
Quote@Silly Druid would love to hear yours! And if you know any other music ponies, then feel free to tag 'em

Please make an effort to tag your topics with relevant words. For example, if your topic is asking bronies what they would do if Rainbow Dash flew up and began to flirt with them, you should add tags such as Rainbow Dash, flirting and hypothetical to it. Tags are a great way to see at a glance what a topic is about and help to keep content organized as the community grows.
I dunno, it's innocent enough
and doesn't bother me... it just sounds a bit fandom circa 2012 to me. The site feels a like it should be a lil more innocent than that, but then I do spend a lot of my time in very innocent pony servers (despite, um... some things
)
