Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this marketing report also imply that MYM will end after Secrets of Starlight? That'd be pretty disappointing if it did since it's way better than TYT. As for the special, I'm not sure whether they'll actually bring Glimmy back or not, but the purple and turquoise coloring of the logo is a little suspicious.

Make Your Mark Chapter 4.
CorvetteZora replied to CastletonSnob's topic in My Little Pony: Make Your Mark
*Spoilers! (Duh)* This chapter has definitely been a solid improvement over the previous ones. It's continuing the trend of better animation that we saw in chapter 2, and did a good job with storytelling and character development as well. As far as characters go, Izzy and especially Pipp absolutely CARRY this chapter, and I'm happy to see Misty and Opaline get some much deserved screen time. Everyone else meanwhile is still fun to watch but I would like to see Sunny get more time in the spotlight since she is the protagonist. Story wise, I'm glad to see the show introduce some more complex and grown-up plotlines, the best examples being the Sunny vs Opaline fight and Pipp/Zipp handling their mom dating Alphabittle. While learning that Opaline had grown up alongside Celestia and Luna was a cool addition to the lore, it does create a small plot hole given that Twilight was never made aware of her until after she became ruler of Equestria. The songs for the most part are average except for "Show Me Your Pony Moves". That song was amazing and is easily one of the best G5 songs since the movie. Some of usual criticisms still apply, like rushed pacing and some animation quality inconsistencies, as well as the show's strange release schedule and lack of proper seasons. Overall, this chapter was cute and entertaining, and I hope we don't have to wait the better part of a year again for the next one to be released. -
I honestly think it should've been more like Steven Universe in that regard. Speaking of that show, instead of Friendship is Forever or even Pony Life, G4 would've really benefited from a SU: Future-style epilogue series set during the era of The Last Problem. Even if it ended controversially on a darker note, it would at least set up G5 and give us a hint at what went wrong after FIM.

What do you think of Tell Your Tale?

The first half of the episode was enjoyable enough, but I didn't enjoy the trash song, which was a shame since it was actually pretty catchy. To me the song downplayed the fact that she was literally swimming in garbage a bit too much, and seemed more like it was glamorizing dumpster diving and not teaching the importance of recycling.

What if Sunny frees Cozy and takes her into her care?
CorvetteZora replied to FearTheBelle's topic in MLP Generation 5 (G5)
It wouldn't be impossible to bring them back, although I wouldn't mind them introducing an all-new villain as well. I personally like the idea of all 3 villains returning for a season finale as a way to bridge the generations without having to reach into the Mane 6 fanservice box. I'm not quite sure how Sunny and co. would defeat them, maybe they could figure out how to petrify them again but one of the villains escapes, similar to how Chrissy did after the S7 finale.- 14 replies

I lurked on this forum for waay too long but I finally joined after G5 was announced. Happy 10th MLP Forums! Too bad we can't hire Pinkie to plan a party for it...

I was pretty busy last week so I had to wait a bit before seeing the movie. Avoiding spoilers is HELL. I am so happy to say that I was very impressed by this movie. All of the worries I had began to disappear when the first clip of Izzy at Sunny's house was released and went away for good once I saw the film. Tbh, the trailers do a pretty bad job of promoting the movie and make it seem like some cringey trolls clone for kids. First things first, I loved them giving the Mane 6 one last hurrah at the start of the film (including evil Rarity lol). Sunny is a very grounded protagonist who never feels like a Mary Sue. Izzy is soo adorable (and my favorite), and feels like a more toned down Pinkie with a bit of Sonata Dusk thrown in. Hitch is a well-rounded character who wasn't made too macho or too wimpy. Pipp and Zipp deserved a bit more screentime but were still great characters that had a nice 'royal family' dynamic with Queen Haven. Even though most people didn't like him that much, I would've actually liked to see more of 'Emperor Sprout', he could've actually been an intimidating villain if they made him a bit more serious. Compared to the G4 movie, this film may have actually had a better story, since it managed to introduce an entirely new generation of ponies. The old movie, in comparison, was more of a celebration of all things G4 and had tons of material to work with. I think I'm still a bit too biased to the G4 characters to say the new movie's better, but I think I'll like it even more once the show comes out. Regardless, this movie captured the same grand scope of storytelling that G4 was known for, and like the previous movie, was only held back by its length. Hopefully if there's another cinematic G5 film it'll be 2 hours long. There weren't really any dull moments, and that scene at the campfire was a real tearjerker. The songs were pretty good, I especially enjoyed Fit Right In and I'm Looking Out For You. The rest of the songs were good, but Danger Danger was a little too silly for me. As for Sunny becoming an alicorn, I never had a problem with the whole twilicorn issue and I don't really mind this either. I don't think the horn and wings are permanent but instead they'll be like the 'pony up' from Equestria Girls, except a bit more 'on demand'. The movie was pretty political in the first few minutes but never too aggressive with its underlying message. Although the story was a bit predictable at times, and the pacing/ending was a bit rushed, I don't think it made enough of a difference to ruin the movie. I'd be willing to forgive the writers for not including what caused Equestria to fall apart as long as they cover it well in the tv show. Overall, this movie was a solid 8.5/10. It was very well made and was only affected by a few minor issues. I cannot wait for the premiere special next year.

Pipp Song ‘Glowin’ Up’ Released
CorvetteZora replied to Tom Gallagher's topic in My Little Pony: A New Generation (2021)
I really want to like this movie and give G5 a fair chance but this song sounds a little too generic for me. On its own it's not terrible, but the only problem is that compared to the fairly high standard set by the classy Daniel Ingram soundtrack and 'Rainbow' from the 2017 MLP movie, it feels like a bit of a downgrade.
