whew it took longer than i hoped to get it done,rl has ben more than staggering as of late.

now as you all may know a month back i hosted the mlp plush poll! the ballots were counted on may 26th,the season 4 finale!

The winner of said poll was none other than fluttershy!

so the fun part began soon after!

then doom...

it took a looooooooong time and trust me there was a crazy amount of debating as to what type of fluttershy i would make.

many of the canidate ideas will be executed later...;3

ive made art, and animations as well as plushies

So I want to learn to animate but all the programs I've tried have been crap and extremely frustrating to even draw a line. Personally I'm hoping for something like Flash MX, which I've used before.

ive ben playin pokemon sence it came to the states way back when..now if i meet a new player gods im so excited to help someone get into something, to share what i love about a specific game/comic/show/anything really..

i dislike when people have an elitist personality this happens alot, they believe they are better than the new commer for no other reasoning other than said person is new and therefore worthless to thier fandom..

I myself am an avid cosplayer and enjoy meeting new ones to the herd of many and offer friendly advice to them on how to improve the next time while pointing out what they excel at.

this goes for anything i do this with be it animation,art and general sewing.

Im an old hat at alot of things so when someone new shows up to anything i do I try and welcome them the best i can and set them up for sucess like many of my kind friends have done for me before.

new things can be intimidating and just because you only know the mainstream version of something dosent mean you wont learn to love it for the whole that it is and appreciate it more sooner.

 people have to remember new people are good friends you havent met yet.

ok so as a plush maker heres a few things, firstly it pays to make your own plush pattern. 

now i know it sounds difficult beyond all reason but its actually very very simple.

if you have a basic idea on how to trace ponies you can make a pony pattern.

seccond, most good top grade patterns will never be released for free by the plusher, it takes buisness away from the plusher if someone else can make the same plush for less.

for some free ones i would reccomend the voodo tiki pattern as a basis on how to make a plush pattern so you can see how many pieces are required and what so you can better improve upon them

Every little rate counts, if i win and have the chance at the dream job ill be making a full set of theese , one for every character and then one for each major known song series such as the story of evil and the seven deadly sins.

at the age of five my kindergarden class had the whole 'when i grow up' thing going on so i took it to heart and i told my mother and then everyone else.. 'when i grow up i want to make cartoons, and work for disney' nearly 20 years later and im realising that dream, never once stearing from that path, drawing nonstop my entire life and hungering to try every arts and craft i could think of i am a well rounded animator with amazing adaptation. I wanted to make 90's disney traditional animation...

and so because disney no longer produces animation like that im trying to make a studio with some amazing friends who share the same heart i do, we want to tell stories like disney used to, ones that captivated us and stuck with you...

To me its just like asking why people put ponies in socks and stockings, why give them milkshakes?

i was wondering this due to around 21% of my 15 bucks going to various places before i even get it... so like 15% goes to mlp forums,3% to paypal,another 3% for conversion from cad to usd.

if i increase my sale prices it would mean less work for me and less madness like this.

also i was thinking of selling 16x20 canvas paintings as well in my store for around 60 (10 goes to supplies and 10 to shipping)

ok then guys im in a pinch, having no job is bad enough but when the company my beloved room mate got me a sewing machiene through decides to take a whopping 500 from her without her permission shit gets real!!

excellent we have some ponies!!! yay ok bits of fair warning, shinni greatly dislikes ponies as a whole, in her eyes they take all of thier gifts for granted ie life,and having thier own species to frolic with. shinni puts on a very nice front most times while wishing contempt and horrible misfortune upon others under that smile, she hates hot weather and well being a kirin hates alot of things but has a strong sence of true beauty.

Shinobiashi works as a model by occupation, wearing outfits made by canterlots elite day in and day out is tiring for her, once a month on a moonless night she must rest and revert back to her kirin form so she can maintain the shift for another lunar cycle.

due to being a deity and truly immortal she dosent need to eat so she has plenty of bits to spare, living in a paid for luxury building and all of her amenities paid for by her modeling agency she has plenty of bits to spare and lives in the search of true beauty.

in this she is in her pony form and an easily recognized mare super model, having her own celebrity status due to her 'charm' 

it is here that she searches to find a place to belong, to find once more another truly beautiful soul

I'm more of a computer nerd and love doing anything on a computer. If anything I wonder why people draw traditional art. (Don't get me wrong, it still looks good, but I'd rather do it on a computer if given the choice.) 

 

(Kinda offtopic, can you use a touchscreen computer in lieu of a drawing pad?)

I actually use an asus eee slate as my drawing pad..its a very slim and lightweight tablet with a full computers capabilities

I used to be primarily a traditional artist until I started my animation course at uni 3 years ago and was forced to start learning to use tablets and digital software.

 

Contrary to popular belief, painting digitally isn't necessarily easier then painting with oils or watercolours. (Unless of course, you cheat, which is very easy to do with digital software).

It is however, quicker, and far more convenient. You don't have to worry about which brushes you have, which colour paints you have, sharping your pencils, getting rubber crumbs everywhere, making sure that you have good lighting (which is impossible in my room) or any other annoying peeves that come along with drawing and painting traditionally. 

That, along with the fact that digital art is very popular now days, and that it's much more industry standard then traditional art, is probably why most MLP art (and fan art in general) is digital.

There are certain challenges that come with traditional art that you have to get better at, but there also challenges that come with digital art that you won't have to deal with when using traditional mediums. 

 

The same goes for animation (at least, for 2D cell animation). But I've had a lot more experience with digital animation then working with a lightbox, so I might not be the best one to comment on it.

 regarding lightbox animation I find it easier to go the traditional route I dont have to worry about stupid things like autosaving,updates or toggling frames...ugh I hate that...I just draw,lightbox,check ink it and scan...cel painting is its own beast and is an artform...due to the digital age its sad to say 2d animation (traditional) is a dying art form.

I generally use a combo of paint too sai and photoshop cs6 for the paintings and use illustartor cs6 for vectors.

when I animate I will generally for puppets make the parts in illustrator and then animate in flash or I will make the animation in photoshop or sai if im going for more of a traditional feel.

but I do love occasionally sitting down with some good tunes and a light board to crank out some animation traditionally

I would move into the house me and my roomies wanted,give some money to each of my friends whos helped me so much and of corse my family while saving 250k for a rainy day.

I think she should sell her non-pony stuff on ebay like everypony else. Why is she allowed to sell non-MLP related stuff on here? It's weird.

 

But since it seems that it's possible to sell things like that around here, maybe I should ask if I can have some of  mine "auctioned" off too since I'm also moving soon and I could use the bits. I got a lot of sports cards and autographed things to get rid of.

 

I'm not bidding for this since I'm bidding for Nightmare Rarity. I would probably pay 1000 yen for it but I am not interested.

I would like to clearify my situation if I may..I dont own anything aside from  a duffel bag of clothes. trust me id sell stuff if i owned anything XD the only things i have of any value I cannot sell being they are what i do my commision work with which literally is how i am able to eat..not kidding. I am thrilled you are bidding on my painting, i truly am. i am constantly looking for work in my area which has ben a mass failure but i must digress at the moment in time i have to sell art to survive thus the term starving artist ;3 rest assured nightmarity looks much better in person than with a camera phone pic..
