I don't think the writers in G4 considered Celestia or Luna as "Gods". I mean, we have episodes like "A Royal Problem", "Horse Play" and "Between Dark and Dawn" that show them both more "human". Despise their longevity they had to come from somewhere. Maybe by definition Skyros is a McGuffin, and I prefer it that way rather than just being forgotten as an irrelevant detail.

Does this count as shameless self promotion? If it is. I just hope it's not against the rules. Wow I arrived late to the party... But I know why the races separated. However in order to understand why, there is an obscure piece of lore, you need to be aware of: The Guardians! The Hidden Lore of MLP G5 - The Legend of the Guardians The Guardians where three ponies chosen by unity crystals, to protect all the tribes. However, the guardians had a fight with each other and convicted each of their tribes to live separately from each other. That's the short version. I don't think Skyros is abandoned, but... I'm pretty sure we will not see any of the G4 alicorns in there . For your second question... I admit I have a head-canon, but it's what it makes most sense: 1. Natural born alicorns come from Skyros, Like Celestia and Luna. 2. Ascended alicorns, like Twilight and Cadence had to be transported to Skyros, in order to transform them into alicorns. So perhaps the "Astral Plane" is in Skyros. 3. Flurry Heart was the first born Alicorn in Equestria, since she was the daughter of Cadence, but until that point. No alicorns had children with other equestrian citizens and they didn't know if the alicorn gene could be carried by an ascended Alicorn. All of the other Natural born alicorns are from Skyros.

If there are they are probably in Zephyr Heights, since it has the larges population in Equestria, and means and interest to have that kind of agencies. Maretime Bay and Bridlewood are just too small settlements.

My estimate is 150 years. With 40 years from Twilight's coronation to the arrival of Opaline, being the most idle moment. I'm actually working on a YouTube video about the breach between G4 and G5, it will be ready on 2 to 3 weeks. Does this count as shameless self-promotion? Probably yes.

I honestly believe is good. I really like the characters, and the world, and with time the stories are getting better.

Well... I obviously can't tell you what to like or not, and I know there were MANY problems in production to that made a mess of things. The fact that ponies of the G5 have only one cutie mark for rendering problems(or tu cut rendering time for a rushed production) didn't gave a good impression to the fans. But to claim that there is no continuity? I don't think so. Let's remember that it was G.M. Barrow who made the Screenplay for the Movie, and she developed the concept of Make your Mark as series. She was also an official writer in the G4 and she wrote most of the "chapter" books for Friendship is Magic (Where she enjoyed including some of the fans trends and characters. ) I admit there is a visual disconnect from Friendship is magic, But I see some strong connections story wise. Let me ask you a question... What if those "inconsistencies" where intentional? What if there is a reason to be explored in why the dragons look like that and have cutie marks? Please don't suffer G5. Its really interesting.
