Good morning, Night Sky, I had a talk with Samurai Equine about Princess Celesita and DrWolf's video about her.
Celestia is a kind and gentle Pony, it's like DrWolf said, Celestia could have been vindictive about it and left her previous enemies Discord and Nightmare Moon to rot for eternity, but she did not. Actually the first episode of the show MLP FIM was endearing and is one of the best in the series for me, because her reunion with Princess Luna showed just how deeply she cares about the importance of mercy in maintaining peace and order in a kingdom, by not promoting violence, she is inspiring Ponies to be so much more peaceful to each other than the world humans inhabit will ever be, collectively the human condition is too far gone and are on a path to extinction IMO.

I applaud this guy for his thoughtfulness. He may be putting too fine a point on it though.
Remember, the Crew of the Enterprise D was always very short on patience when it came to Q, at least until his later appearances.
FIM could simply have chosen to substitute Princess Celestia, who is in charge, for Captain Picard. I don't think anything scarred Princess Celestia worse that the rupture with Princess Luna.
They had everything back where it needed to be and then thanks to Discord, Legion of DOOM.
I think everyone was ready to murder him at that point, though not in the same way or to the same degree.

Oh I agree, and about the fight between Luna and Celestia at the beginning, 1,000 years prior to Friendship is Magic, I'd imagine this would have left a deep wound in Princess Celestia's psyche, heartbroken she had to do the unthinkable to save herself and Equestria from an out of control Nightmare Moon, this may explain one reason why she is so merciful, she has seen the ugliness of violence firsthoof, realizing this, she does not want other families to feel the same way. That's love and the beauty of her inner strength.
it's also as we discussed, there are hints to eastern mythology being woven into MLP FIM as well, Friendship is Magic extends to all living beings, the more they learn about relationships and how to treat others with kindness, the more justice there is. It's sort of like Oneness and universal love promoted in Buddhism.
