I read the fanfic "Friendship is Optimal" (and some of the spinoff works) a year or two ago, and later decided to try FiM. I was pleasantly surprised (well... ignoring the first 2 pilot episodes) and have been a huge fan of FiM ever since (though I have not looked at G3 or G5)
Other thoughts / random things about me:
- I like playing Hollow Knight
- I prefer Faust's original view for the world (the diarchs akin to Greek Goddesses, Earth and Pegasus pony magic to make plants grow and control the weather, etc)
- I am in favour of Twilight's alicornification
- Favourite season finale: Twilight's Kingdom (almost entirely for the brilliant animations in the fight scene)
