  1. From what I saw from the videos of the brony con, that wasn't that much compared to comic cons and fur cons. If I went to bronycon, I would just dress up as Spiderman. Why, you ask? This:
  2. I haven't been active for a very long time, so I figured I would re-introduce myself since I'm sure many people don't remember me because I didn't post that often. I suppose I wasn't active and was just lurking because I was shy of posting because of the overwhelming number of members on here. For those who don't know me (which I assume a lot of you don't) I am Elric. Fascinated in dreams and the paranormal, writer/poet, fencer, amateur artist, musician. Currently, I am working on a short story that once finished I will release a chapter every week. I have also been studying blues guitar for about 2 years now, as well as finished a class in small animal care and management and have knowledge on most rodents held as pets, and dogs and cats. As for MLP, I would have to consider myself a casual fan of the show. I don't really have a favorite pony. It's really just too hard to choose because they are all likable characters. I suppose if I was forced to pick I would be split between Fluttershy and Twilight Sparkle. Anyway, I look forward to meeting everyone. Expect me to post a lot. -Elric
  3. So, I have been working on a short story for quite a long time. If any of you guys bother to read it, I would appreciate any comments/critiques on the writing and story. I've been working really hard on it lately, so I can eventually release a chapter every week. I started around January of this year. So, here you go. Really hope the people who read this enjoy it! If you don't, tell me what you didn't like. -- Prologue: It seemed there was a voice calling to me in the beginning; Find me... The voice called to me and I had an urge to answer it, and I took the bait immediately. For every quest there is an end. Mine, although I haven’t found what I was looking for, has ended. Here I am, the fox that was so determined to find what he was looking for in a cage hopelessly laying on the ground. A prisoner of humans. I am Elric, and this is my story. --- Chapter 1 I was the last one to open my eyes. All of my brothers and sisters saw the world for the first time before I did. Eventually they all left to start their lives, as for me, my eyes were still sealed closed. Mother was worried for me, but she still took care of me. She fed me her milk for food and although I never got the chance to ever see her, I distinctly remember her voice. I remember her voice, a voice so soothing and peaceful it could lull me to sleep at times. She would sing to me. She would say my name and when she spoke I felt so safe, like a guardian angel was carefully watching over me. Before I would fall asleep I would hear her voice whisper my name. “Elric.” She said my name so smoothly and I always remember her comforting warmth. It all changed though. One day my mother went out. I felt her warmth leave me and felt the chill of wind for the first time. I waited for her patiently almost positive she would come back to see me and I would hear her comforting voice one last time. She never returned. My eyes cracked and for the first time all I saw was light. At first it was startling to see for the first time. I was completely comfortable with the darkness I had seen for the first few weeks of my life. The light was so bright to my eyes. Before I knew it the light turned into a blur and that blur turns into shades, and the shades became more and more distinct until they were colors and objects. This was the world. Strange, mysterious and frightening. I knew that I was a fox. I knew how to walk, and see. I didn't know much. For the first time I looked around to see where I lived for the first days of my short sheltered life. A little tunnel under the ground. Warm, secure and dark, but as I looked at the blinding light ahead of me I couldn’t shake the feeling of lurking danger. I used my strength that I didn't even know I had. I must have developed this strength all this time I was laying down against my mother, when my eyes were still sealed shut. Before I knew it I was standing. Steadily I put one paw in front of the other as I made my way towards the light which was blinding me. Step by steady step I inched towards it. Soon I started to move a little faster, and before I knew it I started to walk and was out of the old shelter in which I called home. Giant trees loomed above me, and the leaves on the ground seemed to have completely covered the mix of dirt and grass. It took me awhile to get used to this world I was so suddenly thrown into. So strange and full of wonders, it was hard getting out and on my feet. I was confused, a little bit scared, but I managed to survive. I learned how to get my own food, hunting came natural to me and to be quite frank it was a thrill to chase down your food to eat. Not only a thrill, but also rewarding as well. I learned the ways of the forest, the seasons and the weather patterns and dug my shelters before rainy nights and blizzards. Time passed and I began to forget about my mother and that old dark shelter. I became independent and I soon knew a part of the forest like the back of my paw. I survived, and well... thats it. I didn't have any motive in my life except to simply survive. One night I had a dream. In it I was in pure darkness. It surrounded me. Then suddenly, out of the darkness came a light, and with the light I heard a voice repeating: Find me... I awoke in my den startled and panting. It was then I realized it was merely a dream. Then I realized what I had to do. I remembered my mother’s soothing voice. It was the same voice in the dream. I suddenly knew what I had to do. I was going to find my mother.
  4. Well for those who still remember me, I'm back again. Going to try to be more active. Again.

But you already established yourself. It will take a great amount of time for people to completely forget you. The person in question here has <75 posts. You have over 1000.

      So?

Doesn't mean that people recognize me...or care.

  5. Mainly because it is better than most cartoon these days, and reminds me of the old days when cartoons were good.
  6. Do they really have to say it? I don't understand why they have to mention it as long as they follow the theme. Some books have a title that the characters never mention in the book. For example, I read a book called Sailor on the Seas of Fate but none of the character actually mentioned "We are sailors on the sea of fate..." Sometimes titles are just for letting the audience or readers know what they are reading/watching.
  7. I really need to post more around here...

  8. I live my life by more of a set of moral values than a set religion. I am somewhat Christian (even though I never go to church) but I do appreciate a lot of other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. In my opinion all religion is kind of the same set idea, that there are beings higher than us.
  9. I drew a Zebra today.

  10. (My most recent poem) Pulsing in my mind Like an endless headache My thoughts No longer clear to me Desperately making my way Through this vast fog, I know I have ventured too far No longer able to escape The path I pave on my own For I know, No one else can do it for me Long winding roads With paths taken My past left behind Lost, I search... For something Anything And for a moment I see a faint light I follow it Forging my path along the way A distant future ahead, And the past left long in the fog ---- Comments and Critiques welcomed as always.
  11. Yes, I draw. I am learning how to draw, actually. I've been drawing about every few days. Most of them I don't share, but I do upload some of them online. Critiques/comments are welcome and always will be because I'm really trying to improve. If you want to see more of my art (which improves as you go to my most recent pictures) go here: http://superdarkyoshi.deviantart.com/
  12. Every time I read something about the banning of books I think of the book Farenheit 451, where firefighters actually burned books. In the book, all books were banned from reading because it provoked thought. Books are usually banned or challenged because they have offense material. Most of the time in other countries, the government mainly monitors what books are released to the public, because books provoke thoughts and if a book was released showing the negative aspects of the that certain government, it can provoke thinking and even rebellion against that (usually communist) country. In looking through the eyes of a communist I would say that banning books is necessary because some books can provoke thoughts that could lead to the people uprising in that country and of course a dictator does not want that at all. However I do not think in our case living in a democratic republic, no book should be banned. Mainly because we have the freedom of the press, and have the ability to think for ourselves without our government monitoring what we read. I really don't think anyone should say what we can and cannot read, because its really up to yourself to decide what you want to do or read or say.
  13. Those people who suck up to you in school because they want to copy off of your work. Or want to be in your group just to copy off of you.
  14. People who make opinions quickly without actually researching or knowing any facts.
  15. If rabbits are stressed enough in the first few days of their babies birth, they will eat them. Horses sweat. Just a rumor (I haven't actually verified this yet) but if a male lion is lazy enough that he doesn't want to get his own food, he will eat his own cubs.

    mega thread Anime Discussion Thread

My favorite anime series include Shiki, Higurashi no naku koro ni, kara no kyoukai, code geass, and serial experiments lain. I'm a big fan of deep stories. Although I don't like the "Hey, were not going to tell you anything about the series, BECAUSE WE CAN!" Oh yea, and gurren laggan is probably one of my favorite action animes. I'm currently watching Mirai Nikki. It's kind of similar to Death Note in a way, but actually entertaining throughout the whole series. I haven't gotten bored once while watching while in Death Note I definitely have.
  17. By reading the op I am guessing you are trying to make cartoon realistic. Remember, it's a cartoon. It's probably just a normal thing to practice magic. If you want to think realistically though, it could be a alternate universe. I think my most realistic theory is that Equestria exists in a time before time itself was even recorded by humans and where magic actually existed.
  18. So, besides ponies what are some other things your a fan of? I am a furry, and a total John Mayer fan. I also like Crash Bandicoot. I am also fascinated in the paranormal and dreams.
  19. It somewhat helps me get connected with people and family I haven't seen in awhile. For instance, since I am moving from where I currently live, I will probably use Facebook to contact people if I need to. Otherwise, not really.
  20. It can't be any worse than telling your friend your a furry. I'm sure it will go smoothly.
  21. Heterosexual. I don't really worry about it too much though. I mean, I'm not looking for a roman-candle-fireworks-hollywood kind of love. Most people aren't but I know some people who are. Anyway, the reason I don't really care is because your sexuality is just one aspect of yourself and people shouldn't take it that your sexuality is who you are.
  22. I love hot tea. I started drinking it every morning, since it is pretty cold outside. I am not a very big fan of coffee, so I drink hot tea or hot chocolate. Not that I don't like coffee, I just don't like drinking it in the morning. It's more of a night drink for me.
  23. Big spiders kind of scare me. Other than that, I'm not really afraid of any other insect or animal (mainly because study them and handle them at school).
