Alright. Here's why it would fail. First off: What is the motive of the invasion? What nation is invading? Unless this is an international attack based on an extreme motive, the attack would fail. Although there are not currently any actual treaties that protect nations that are not of this dimension from an attack by any force, the basis of social contract theory states that an attack or invasion of a peaceful nation without solid evidence of that nation being a clear and present danger to society at large will merit any measures necessary to impede that invasion. i.e. If it is just one country (or a group of countries) going after Equestria, A more powerful military will come in to stop the invasion. Secondly: The brony community would not allow the attack to happen. As promoters of peace, love, and tolerance, and as lovers of the land of Equestria, nobody in our community would allow this invasion to take place. Our power comes from the fact that we have the most intelligence on the matter of said invasion. We know everything about Equestria because we MADE it what it is. We know the topography, the culture, the biology, EVERYTHING. This means that our cooperation is necessary if the invasion is to take place. Our voice is made louder by the fact that we know what they don't. Thirdly: Humans don't understand the terrain or biology. There are hydras, manticores, cockatrices, dragons, and many other dangerous animals that humans have no idea how to deal with. The topography of Equestria is all KINDS of messed up. bogs, deserts, mountain ranges, plains, everything. All of it grouped together in a way that humans have never even imagined before. All of this makes for an extremely dangerous place for humans to even step foot. Especially if they happen to be trying to invade... Fourthly: According to fanfiction, Ponies have guns, and are damn good shots. Finally: Ponies.The dominate race of Equestria are a species with the intelligence of humans, and the physical abilities of horses. That makes them stronger AND faster than us. Oh, and by the way: two thirds of those ponies can FLY or DO MAGIC! Pegasi appear to be able to fly with the same speed, and with greater accuracy, than human fighter jets. Magic is what allows Equestria's monarch deities to move the SUN and MOON! Did I forget to mention that the royal family can both do magic AND fly? Oh hey! The elements of Harmony! That shit turns malevolent deities into STONE! The power of love is able to banish entire armies of pony like creatures that can CHANGE THEIR SHAPE in Equestria. The shyest of ponies is able to control creatures by staring at them. Some ponies are able to defy the laws of physics on a regular basis all while wielding a party cannon. Bottom line: Humans are bucked. EDIT: All this being said, the MAIN points are basically the first, third, and last. The whole idea of an invasion works under the pretense that diplomacy suddenly doesn't exist. Under the status quo, there are very few nations that would be so rash as to actually attack equestria, and of those, very few would actually be capable of doing so. ultimately, NATO forces would probably step in even without any treaties signed. Equestria has terrain and biology that we can't even begin to understand and that gives the ponies a MAJOR advantage. Ponies are a more advanced race than humans. they have physical abilities that combine those of humans, horses, and birds of prey. They fly faster, run faster, jump higher, and do many other things with greater skill and physical prowess than humans. And they do magic. final story.

Just rewatched this one for the first time. Not really my favorite. Gilda over-uses outdated slang terms way too much. She's very stereotypical. I think this ep. is pandering to the younger audience more than any other episode I can remember.

considering that most of the "parchment" that they print souvenir documents on is priced the way it is...yeah, they're probably using plant based stuff. If it were REAL animal hide parchment, it would not only be cruel and unusual, but also friggin expensive.

That's why I was trying to keep it low key. I was just making a statement that related to the thread. I have put a significant amount of thought into this subject (more than I like to admit :/ ) and that was the only way to really sum up my feelings about the subject itself. You may notice I went out of my way to make sure my statement was safe for work while still getting the basic point across.

I found this one a bit odd too. I think ponies are plenty cute without the socks.... What may have made this so strange to me is an issue of.....mixed sexual feelings.... Meaning that I am not a clopper (unless the image is of the pony in human form) but I do think that a good pair of socks makes a woman significantly more attractive.

The foundation of the fandom is the quality of the show. MLP is excellently animated, brilliantly voice acted, has great stories and plot-lines (not pony ass you dirty cloppers, you), and character development and interaction that is pretty much unrivaled by any other cartoon out there. However, it goes WAY beyond that. There are countless elements that draw all of us to the show and the fandom. One element that we don't like to admit is the irony. It's sickeningly sweet that a show meant for little girls, which are stereotypically very low quality and cheap, is this entertaining to a fully grown man. But that is just one thing... Bronies have built a fandom based around a show and a meme that has created some pretty brilliant stuff. Fan fiction, EDM, original animation, and many other types of media abound within the MLP fandom. The fandom has its own memebase site, an incredibly popular blog, many different forums, a web radio show, a fanfic site, and even its own social network. Being a brony means that you are a part of a loving community that shares a common trait and a common interest. But, possibly because of the nature of the show (I mean come on, It's about brightly colored ponies learning about the principles of friendship), and possibly for many other reasons, the brony community is stronger than any other fandom. And THAT's why we love the show so much. And that doesn't necessarily make it over-rated. It just means that we have appended a greater meaning to something that was already amazing. All this being said, I'd like to further expand my reasoning on why the show much more than an "above average" cartoon. Animation: Even "Adventure Time," which is touted to be basically one of the best and most popular modern American cartoons, cannot even touch the animation quality of MLP. There's a certain quality that MLP has that most other cartoons don't have. Voice acting: With this one, I can make superlative statements and not feel bad about it. The voice acting in this show FAR surpasses that of ANY other children's cartoon. Tara Strong is one of the most brilliant voice actors in the whole industry and the other actors are just as talented. Music: David Ingram is a BOSS. The musical numbers in the show are absolutely fantastic and wonderfully orchestrated. Mechanics wise, MLP far surpasses almost every other kid's cartoon on television right now. Plotting and Story: Each episode is plotted excellently. All the scenes are tight and conclusive, and the rising, climactic, and falling actions fit perfectly into the thirty minutes. Each story is interesting and fits in countless different references that keeps the minds of the older audience thinking. Every episode provides something new and awesome. Theme: The morals and themes of each episode are obvious, but true. Each ep is able to remind you of lessons that you have been learning all your life further drive them home. The small children that watch this show are going to be better people in the long run because of the lessons about social interaction and ethics that they learned from this show. Character development and interaction: This is where MLP really shines. The interaction between the characters rivals that of even many live action shows. Each member of the mane six have contrasting personalities that really drive the stories and provide for excellent character development and interaction. Even the secondary characters have very defined personalities that help to move the story. All in all, the story telling of MLP is absolutely fantastic and very much worthy of praise. That, combined with the mechanics of the show, makes for a show that far surpasses the quality of most other shows like it. And thus we see, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is not an over rated cartoon.

The mane six's faults and strengths are what make the show great. The one element that MLP can honestly say it doesn the absolute best in out of pretty much ALL other cartoons is character interaction. That being said, you will relate to one or two ponies more than others. I bet that most bronies, despite what they might claim, could probably give you a list of their favorite ponies in order from greatest to least. EX: Twilight: my favorite because she is smart, awkward, and adorable. Fluttershy: second favorite because she's so freaking cute it hurts. Applejack: third because she's a southerner and her sister is Apple Bloom Rainbow: Fourth because I enjoy her boyish behavior but I don't like her arrogance Pinkie Pie: So annoying and peppy (she literally bounces EVERYWHERE she goes) but she's friendly and I like that. Rarity: I love her but there are no defining features to her personality that I like in particular. So maybe someone hates on a character. Just remember that you probably have a least favorite too.
