  1. I love it for the characters. I am truly swept away by how wonderful and flawed they are. So few shows or books or movies have such well thought out characters, so it is amazing to see such in a children's show. Albeit, even more than that, I think I love the fact that while they're all girls, the series doesn't force the "this is what a girl must be like stereotypes" that are found everywhere these days. I truly hope that any young girls watching this show take the message of being able to be a girl and be diverse to heart.
  2. I have "Sunshine, Sunshine, Ladybugs..." stuck in my head!

I had the find a pet song stuck in my head when I went to bed last night so I couldn't sleep at all XD

I didn't like find a pet as much as the other songs.

  3. I think something like this would make for an awesome episode actually. What would happen to the Mane 6's personalities if they were different colours. Or even, what could happen if ponies had their Cutie Marks swapped?
  4. I agree. This late in the game, putting in a sudden new element (oh look, Twilight found a book about a seventh element!) would just come off as being strained. I also rather like that the Mane 6 are all girls. I find that in a lot of kids' shows, they try to balance things out too much by having equal amounts of genders in which case the characters then also seem to fall into stereotypical roles (and a lot of shows involving a group of boys will have at least one token girl). However, I would quite like it if we saw more reoccurring characters the likes of which Big Macintosh, Cherilee, and Mr And Mrs Cake fall under, and wouldn't mind if maybe they were male (and not drawn weird, too many male ponies go a little too far in the redesign for my liking).
  5. So how long do you think the Brony community will survive? I know that in the here and now, it'd be easy to shout out "Brony 4 Life!" but do you think that will be the case? Once the show is over and done, will it be time to pack up the ponies and years later, look back upon this part of your life with fondness (or ruefulness or bemusement) or will the ponies still be displayed proudly and you'll be gearing up for that next Brony convention or meet-up without missing a beat? I am genuinely curious, because as I was looking around for a good MLP forum to join, I would often come across people announcing that they were leaving the community, and while I realize interests wax and wane more than ever these days, I considered the whole of Bronydom and wondered if they could be comparable to the fans who remain true to series like Star Wars, Star Trek, Firefly, and Doctor Who, where despite there not being new content for many years, continued to be devoted, erstwhile followers. For some reason there is a lot of Sci-Fi that persists through the ages, but given how creative and open Bronies are, could this be just the same as those enduring classics? Can MLP:FiM become a real classic?

Welcome to MLP Forums, Squeek! I hope you're enjoying the site so far. :-)

  7. I'm a bit of an oldie, 1982 for me. Female. Favorite colour is green, beating out purple by a hair. (That's odd, when I first visited this forum and found this thread there was a poll here... now that I am registered, there is no longer... sadness.)
  8. HelloHello, I'm a noob to the Brony community and still a little shy (the greater majority of you are all so young!) about coming into it, but my desire to discuss the series and fandom with others has won out and brought me here. Twilight Sparkle is my favorite pony, perhaps because I identify with her the most, but I would be very hard pressed to come up with a second favorite, as I find I enjoy all the others immensely and am thrilled to see such indepth and diverse characters (in a "children's" show of all things). Other than MLP:FiM I am very into Sci-Fi and Fantasy. I also enjoy Anime and Manga, Ball-Jointed Dolls, and Steampunk. Anyhoo, let's keep it short and sweet for now, and see what may come! Thanks for having me.
