    That needs a group work and A LOT of time. Maybe the creators of the show (privately; not Hasbro as a company because it wants the herd to grow because of $$$) would find the best solution, because we are interested in their work.

    EVERYTHING should have it's rules. Even physics have rules. Otherwise it's utopia or it's nonsense. First rule of becoming a brony is having something in common with MLP:FIM. I can finish some fan work which I started (I have some ) and then, watch the show and fanart not commenting, discussing etc. and make a comeback in some years when the whole thing becomes quieter and only true fans are left. I have done such thing many times and it worked. There were some worse things about the thing of interest BUT people left are mostly those who I want.

    You are right, that's too short to feel this. I was doing such things on YouTube before even Lauren thought about drawing first FIM character. I said before, there's too much of such sites. These sites are just clones of each other. Hope it does. But it still will be left broken. I know it from one game. (Tibia) Not only. But spoilers should be made. As dirty I wanted to say... I just don't know how to explain that. It's like some parts of the fandom are making it worse and can become dangerous for it's "health".

    So I have recently felt something weird, that Brony herd is becoming more dirty(?). Really the group has no rules, no one specific goal. First I thought of starting an alternative one. But that's too hard and it needs time. I'm not even a good leader/creator/founder. Do you also feel like this? That our community is becoming less valuable, less... royal. 10 year old kids are joining just to be "k3wl". Some time ago there was only 4chan, EQD, Ponychan or some other sites. Now? Thousands of tumblr blogs, millions of wordpress pages, clones of EQD. What was also brilliant about Brony community that in 90% anypony could understand each other. But like everything which came out from 4chan was eaten by brainless sites like 9gag and people, who don't even understand what's something about, and they start doing the same things they see. It happened to lolcats, rageguy, awesome face and many other memes. At first MLP was also a meme. There was hope that it would become just an awesome hobby, interest, point, thing. For some time it was. However... It is dying. Even if the cons and meetups are becoming larger, the community is... crumbling... falling... breaking up. Also haters are more hating. And sometimes I understand them. Many fans have left the herd, explaining it with the problem of r34 or trolling. But I think they left it because... Because of this what I described. There are a lot of similar examples. When I started watching the show and then by looking on the awesome art made by fans, I started calling myself a brony. And I thought this group would be stable, long living, special. But it became just the fad. Yes, the fad a.k.a. trend. And people started watching it for mainstream. Do you also feel like this? P.S. Saying "you have only wrong day" or "look deeper and you will see the awesomeness" won't do anything. I feel so since long time. P.S 2. Sorry for possible mistakes. It's 11 p.m. and I'm not a native English speaker.

    So do you remember pink version of Luna? Now look here Colors are similar especially pink and yellow. Does it mean that Cadence was designed even before season 2? Or just coincidence? But still games on Hubworld and Hasbro are the most mysterious part of MLP. Anypony got Flash Firebug Pro? Would be useful.

    My friend is not a brony, he's also not a hater (that much). But he likes .MOV series. Once when we were going back home from school, I was throwing quotes from APPLE.MOV. Suddenly my other friend, who was walking before us and with whom I didn't talk too much, turned around and asked if we watch the show. This was my first brony friend (her). Then my younger cousin was a brony hater, but after a month he became interested in the show. So I showed him some sample episode and he loved it. Now he's also a brony. ;P

    Making a distro doesn't mean changing software and adding media to some other. This is just spin off/derivative from other. Making a true distro is tuning up kernel, recompiling, creating own installer, changing the way fs works (see /mnt and /media), changing shell, userland, initramfs, providing own resources, repositories, drivers. A long time ago I read some funny article and here's quote "every hax0r have his own linux distribution. You make it by downloading one, changing every name and logo, burning it on several CDs and giving it away near church". That's the today's meaning of "distro". And this one is wrong. That's actually funny, but you can make it as true virus or more by making the person watch an episode.

    Ok but look: isn't it better to create pony desktop enviroment (like GNOME, KDE) which could be installed on probably ANY modern distro WITHOUT drive formatting, etc. rather than creating the entire distribution with kernel, userland, new server for repositories and what's one of the most important: support. If I see the message: "Kernel panic... --sleeping forever; Error %s", would you be able to help me? Because making new distro is associated with a lot of bugs and the ones we see are lead by COMPANIES.Look for e.g. on iPodLinux. Last change was in 2009. But the project was brilliant and since that year, iPod unlocking gone forward. However, today nobody knows about it. (http://ipl.derpapst.eu or (dead) http://ipodlinux.org). Or ponyware... You can just create sever with repositrories (deb, rpm packages, source tarballs) and you can have that "ponyware" on ANY distro and EASILY installed. @topic: U know I like this idea, I think it's very constructive and may provide a lot of integration in "pony community" ( ), but it's kinda waste of time. If you are really bored, than that's ok ;P. "Is it based off another distro, or is it independent?": that's also interesting question. IMO it SOULD be based on Fedora Sugar. Why? It's lovely looking, eye candy ( <-- ʇnoqɐ ʞlɐʇ ) and what's awesome: it's social. How? You have an interactive map with users connected around the world. And that would be amazing. You will be able to know anypony using this OS, avoiding use of slooowww... browserrrr...., intee...rrrrnet and online user inteface (like this IPB) waiting for replies by clicking F5 every 2 seconds, while you can talk with anypony around and no need to send invitation. It' slike PonySquare but faster and compiled. Ik it's a distro for kids, but I have installed it once, it was kewl, but the problem was mostly about "activities" and my WLAN card (it stopped connecting after 2nd boot). So recreating this OS it a pony way would be the best idea on the Pony <-->Linux project, of course IMO. (check out this "activity" LOL http://activities.sugarlabs.org/en-US/sugar/addon/4034 )

    So... As my special pony talent is programming, I always wanted to develop sth related to ponies. I don't want to write the whole long, long, long (int xD) story, so I will only write what... what I want. I made a simple game... Maybe it's not game... It's more like interactive fanfiction... More reading than game, but I hope that next chapters will be more interactive. It takes 6 minutes to make it in the fastest way from the beginning. UPDATE 14/07 Chapter Two finally came! More interactivity, more chaos and choices! This may take longer depending on your luck. P.S. I need a name for this game. If you enjoyed playing, maybe you can find a proper title. I want this game to be Luna/NMM/Moon/Royality related, because my fav segment of FiM is royality ;D

    I had such idea before, but... Does it have any sense? There's too much ditros for now. Many of them are even forgotten. Some need "adoption". IMO we should better focus on developing themes and GUI, which firstly is simpler to develop, secondly it will be more portable and last but not least it still can be related to ponies. But if you want to train yourself or train dev. with a group that's a very cool idea
