Alicorn Twilight, Removed Derpy & More Hasbro Control Rumors
Dtox replied to Mister Jack's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
The only thing that I'm worried about, if twilight was to become an alicorn, is what that would mean for the rest of the show. I don't mind her actually becoming an alicorn, if that's something that celestia has been planning for her this whole time, but that would obviously make for a great deal of change.- 336 replies

I'm thinking of something, I might do more of the other dwarves, or perhaps of bilbo or gandalf. Hard to say really, my inspiration to draw is often spontaneous, will have to wait and see .

I watched the Hobbit recently, and thoroughly enjoyed the film, so much so that I felt an overwhelming desire to draw fanart from it. Balin was my favorite dwarf of the group, so I chose him to draw, and I had a lot of fun with it. tell me what you all think.

Drew up a pic of fluttershy as a sister of battle, a female soldier of the inquisition in the imperium of man. The image was a bit of a pain to finish, her head area was especially annoying to get right. Her face was initially supposed to be more cute and innocent, but I decided against that and went with something less orthodox, so I gave her a more battle-hardened look. Hope you all enjoy.

The only issue I have with this episode was how poorly written spike was. They made him seem incompetent, and that whole "dragon code" thing was shoehorned in rather hard, despite things in the past completely contradicting it. It had a rough start, but it got better as it progressed. my favorite part of the episode was the timberwolves, and I laughed my ass off at how the big one died choking to death on a pebble (spike throwing the rock sort of reminded me of david and goliath). There were plenty of funny moments amongst the other ponies as well. So yeah, merriweather shows once again that she still has much to learn about some of the characters. It's amazing how much her episodes hit and miss, just the contrast between episodes like wonderbolt academy and mysterious mare do well.

Is the fandom a lot more "limited" than it seems?
Dtox replied to Zacharias's topic in Sugarcube Corner
It's a matter of advertisement and publicity. there's a lot of content to sift through (various brony artists/musicians, game makers, etc), and a lot of people have those select few names that they've come to know and talk about. I personally stick to just a select few artists in terms of music and artwork, most of which could be considered "mainstream" to the fandom, but I have also branched off and found works that are unconventional. As well, the only brony games that I can think of right off the bat that I'm looking foward to are pony kart and fighting is magic. It's like with anything else, those with talent need to get themselves noticed, and the fandom holds a ton of talent. that's why people go to conventions and showcase their stuff, as well as submit their works to websites like equestria daily (I personally get excited when something of mine gets featured in a draw friend, because it means more exposure). -
Another sleeping pony that I decided to draw, this time with applebloom, taking a break after a good bit of hard work. Despite this being an absolute pain to finish (it was nearly finished before I realized some terrible mistakes that I made, and had to redo a good portion of the body/head), it was a great joy to draw. Hope you enjoy And, in case anyone was wondering, my deviantart is here

I'm currently doing a similar image of applebloom. I've thought about doing scoots, but if I am then it's going to be like this one and the image I'm working on, with only her being alseep.

Thank you everyone for the kind words! I actually forgot about the eyelashes and didn't realize it till near the end. I tried putting them on, but decided to go without them. I have a magic-less version

Thanks you very much! I understand what you mean. My thought process was that characters like rainbow dash, applejack, and rarity would have "mature" looking eyes, whereas fluttershy, pinkie, and twilight would have larger, younger looking eyes. I don't think it worked out too well as I had hoped. didn't help that this image was done over the span of like...a month, which was far too long than what it should have taken. I have done a ton of pictures just like that, except I drew them all as chaos space marines Eh, I have to disagree with that, I think 343 did a damn good job. Thanks btw. Fan of what, crossover? Or ponies with a more human shape? My original idea was to show rarity holding a battle rifle, but it would have cluttered the image more than it already is. I enjoy drawing the ponies in a human-like shape when it comes to things like these. they were originally supposed to be a bit chibi-er.

Drew this up the other day, and wanted to share it with yall. My drawings are often of the creepy/disturbing/violent type, so it's nice to switch it up once in a while with something pleasant. As well, this has to be one of my most favorite drawings made. Feedback much appreciated.

Finished this image recently, drew the mane 6 as spartans from halo reach. I had the idea of noble team in mind, but decided against that and just drew them with spartan-esque designs. was wondering what everyone thought.

Great episode IMO, lots of laughs and exciting moments. The continuity involved was refreshing, including pinkie's rock farm, her use of the one mare marching band, and especially those parasprites. Would have been nice if that amulet had a bit more explanation, or that they at the very least explained how on earth that merchant got a hold of it. I also very much enjoyed the ending. I know a few people have some gripes with it, but I'm glad it ended on an apology/high note.

I was never into the previous MLPs, in fact I would avoid even the commercials like the plague (being the typical "ew girly" kind of boy at the time). My older sister had them, though. She even dug out an old G3 coloring book when we were getting ready to move some months ago, and shared it with me since we're both fans of the new MLP, it was really cute lol. But yeah, I don't own any figurines, I don't even have any for the current gen. I've been thinking about getting some, though.

Alright, my opinion on this episode: AWESOME. I mean, seriously, it was so god damned fun and cute, and I loved the contrast between the real pinkie and her counterparts. Lastly, I wanted to make note of something, which is they portrayed rainbow dash BETTER in this episode, so I hope people recognize that.

I LOVED this opener, possibly my favorite by far. Sombra was a disappointment though, I wanted to see more out of him other than the whole "big bad monster hell bent on control" But, to be fair, the focus was on twilight running against the clock, with sombra being the impending force that would ruin everything. He was definitely bad ass, showing off a darker side to G4 than what was made previously. I think we even had our first death of the show (suggesting that he WAS destroyed). Also, I liked how they fleshed out cadance a bit more, especially when she and shining teamed up to stop sombra. Someone has GOT to make something out of that "heroic wife throw!" that they pulled off XD.

I don't think people actually believe/assume those things, they're just there for the sake of fanon. I think it's either funny or interesting some of the things that are established as fanon, such as lyra's obsession with humans, or scootaloo being associated with chickens. Again, I'm unaware of people who ACTUALLY believe those things to be canon, and I personally find it all amusing.

This actually makes more sense than "help." I've always understood that some people have essentially made themselves a bit better and more positive since getting into the show/fandom, but the word "help" always bothered me in some way. "Motivation," on the other hand, sounds a whole lot better, and I think that's what people mean when MLP "helps" them. It's certainly motivated me to be better about certain things lol. But eh, everyone has different meanings for things.

Hey everyone, this is a drawing of one of my characters, whose name is Nexus. finished him recently and was wondering what people though.

Oh god, I'm trying my hardest to not spoil myself before the episode airs, and you're making it very difficult not to XD GOD I'M SO HYPED. (and yeah, who woulda thunk it, being this excited about My Little Pony lol.) I had a moment similar like that with my dad, He walked in while I was watching a youtube video of MLP. I knew he was looking over my shoulder, but I wanted to play it cool, so I didn't make it look like I noticed him (when, in reality, I was thinking "oh jeez, what is he gonna say?") Then he says "....my little pony?", and I reply with "uh...yeah....it's a parody," and after a moment he walks away. Yeah, it was fairly awkward. sometime later I explain that I did like the show, but only to avoid future awkward moments (you know, get it out in the open so that it's not a surprise next time).

Right, I just want to address something. "mary sue" is such an overused word...Just because a character comes off as a "mary sue" doesn't mean it's inherently a bad character. I mean, hell, batman is one of the BIGGEST mary sues out there, yet everyone seems to love him (as do I, just saying). Anyways, on topic. I don't exactly have an "oc," at least not one that I actively engage others with in RP and discussion. The closest to an OC that I have is my avatar, a picture that I made of Jon Irenicus (from baldur's gate 2) as a pony. I got the idea to make the ponification make sense, so I decided to come up with a little backstory as to how he became a pony and ended up in equestria. He's a villain in baldur's gate, an extremely powerful elven mage (who was exiled for crimes against his people) who sought after a power to make himself god-like, experimenting and torturing specimens with untapped power so that he might absorb them. Long story short, he gets the power he wanted, but is defeated by the hero of the game before his power was fully realized, where he was sent to hell and defeated again, trapping him. My backstory basically says he escapes hell, through some devious, otherworldly means, but is caught by some overruling force, who punishes him for defying the natural order. He is stripped of his power, his form becomes polymorphed, and is sent crashing through dimensions, where he ends up in equestria as a unicorn (whose horn is partly disfigured, to represent his exile). He now spends his time trying to understand the new forms of magic that encompass the land he now resides, where he attempts to regain his lost power, capturing and experimenting on all forms of organisms to do it. Anyways, that's the jiff of it. I'm not sure if that can be considered an "oc," but if I were to have any sort of "oc" that I would use to represent myself with, it'd be him. Now that I think of it, that might just be more of a mascot that I'm thinking of...Ah well.
