  1. I don't blame yea, even with a show as awesome as MLP, you can't help but get burnt out on reruns...man season 3 can't come fast enough...I need some NEW pony dag nab it!
  2. Yes, That would be awesome! Gilda: Element of Betrayal! But wait, then wouldn't she double-cross her own team!? If they do go with Anti-Elements my guess is something like this.. Trixie-Chaos Magic Gilda-Betrayal Flim &/or Flam- Dishonesty Diamond Dog(s?)-Greed Some sort of Physical Manifestation of pinkie's dark side Pinkamina-Anger (because chaos magic!?) Diamond Tiara or Iron Will-Brutality
  3. I think this video is a good answer to set question. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvXsc18VP0c OK well maybe not that much, but I do try to watch it whenever I can, so yeah (almost ) every day during the summer, weekends during the Fall (Darn you college interrupting my daily dose of ponies!)
  4. Trolls (parasprites) do what they do because they are idiotic man-children who sadly have nothing better to do with their time and have to justify their self worth by trying to pointlessly anger &/or bully others. ....And because people just like to abuse the anonymity of the internet because humans by nature are arguably fairly immature/juvinile creatures. And of course some people like to bash anything they dislike &/or don't understand.
  5. Every fanbase has its fair share of troublemakers, but from my experience so far, Bronies arn't anywhere as bad as most modern anime fans & gamers. But thats just my personal opinion.
  6. I envision the same thing for Gilda as I do for Trixie, returning as an antagonist but eventually becoming an ally after she has learned her lesson. They could also do an episode about repairing friendships centered around Gilda & RD.
  7. @Regality: Thats the thing though we don't know what kind of Dragon Spike is or how he ages in comparison to winged dragons or ponies. @Twilie: I agree, this is a kids show, no need for romance, spike & rarity won't start dating during the show, but I could see them ending up together or it hinting at such in the series finale (which hopefully won't be for many years to come as this great cartoon deserves to go on...FOREVER!!! lol.)
  8. I would say Power Rangers & Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog were my favorites as a kid, I was also rather fond of Ducktales & X-Men. Then in my tween/teen years I enjoyed the 2003 TMNT series and Teen Titans, but my favorite toon from the Y2K decade hands down is INVADER ZIM!
  9. I don't hate ANY of the characters. Remember what Twilight...er I mean Clover The Clever said in Hearthwarming's Eve, hate is foolish. lol. But seriously, I just love the cast of this show in general, even horribles, spoiled, bratty characters like Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, & Trixie have a certain level of charm to em.
  10. Thats because your taking human logic and trying to apply it to a cartoon world. And as stated in Dragon Quest ponies don't know that much about dragons, spike has been refereed to as a baby dragon merely because of his short stature and the fact Twilight belives (as she has no reason not to) that all dragons are the same and have the same life span, habits, etc. Personally I believe Secret Of My Excess & Dragon Quest were made to retcon that, I mean even Zecora Mentioned spike was maturing. Not to mention on the back of the SOME MLP Trading card it calls Spike's growth Spurts "Teenage Growing Pains" So at the very least, while still small in stature, Spike like the rest of the mane six is more comparable to a human teen then a baby or adult.
  11. It was mentioned by RD that Discord made it rain cola on cloudsdale at the start of ROH, so yes, it can, it just takes abit of chaos magic, lol. But considering Equestria seems to have pegasus regulated weather, i'm sure a storm happening there is very rare, and would only result from a malfunction from one of their various cloud/weather making machines/factories.
  12. In many works of fiction its established that Dragons have the ability to mate with any creature they wish. And again theres Kirin which are basically unicorn/dragon hybrids. Plus again I know people hate this agrument, but cartoon logic does not equate to real world logic, we've already seen this in a way with the baby cakes, one being a unicorn and the other a pegasus while both parents were earth ponies, sure Mr. Cake gave us some quick explanation as to how that happened, but heck even he didn't seem to belive it with his whole "That makes sense right!?" comment, lol. Basically in any work of fiction the only real limitation should be the writer/writers imaginations. At least IMO any who, thats why series like Adventure Time &/or Doctor Who are so popular, anything can happen. And in a way I think thats why MLP is so popular as well, its a magical world of talking pastel colored equine, dragons, griffons, etc, the possibilities for story telling are numerous! And I do agree that age isn't that big of a concern, I mean i'm sure as Tardis knows the good old Doctor is married to a woman (River Song) who is around what 800 something years younger then him? Thats a pretty big age gap right there, lol.
  13. I would say on top of the obvious ones of getting dirty, being embarrassed in front of others, and letting her friends down. I personally Belive Rarity probaly fears for her little sisters safety, despite their bickering I bet Rarity would be devistated if anything bad ever happened to Sweetie Belle. Oh and she's probably afraid of Opal...that cat's claws are SHARP!
  14. Personally My theory on Spike is this. 1. We know he's not like other dragons, he has no wings, and as shown in SOME, no matter how large he gets he'll never grow any. 2. I believe he was given to Twilight for a reason, and Celesita is probably the only one who knows the truth about Spike, weather she will ever reveal the little guys origins, or where his egg came from, only time will tell. 3. In relation to #1, due to the lack of wings, I belive Spike to be the dragon equivalent to an earth pony, potentially meaning he will be able to live with the ponies and not outlive them by too long or cause too much trouble even when older *but this is a cartoon and cartoons live forever so worrying about stuff like that is abit silly I guess, lol* *I mean Bugs Bunny is pretty spry for someone who's over 70.* 4. I also think Spikes growth might be related to his emotions, I like to think that greed isn't the only thing that can allow him to grow, and that eventually his love for his pony friends will allow him to grow into a more noble form. 5. Spike & Rarity will work out on the soul purpose Hasbro needs an excuse to make Kirin Pony toys for G 4.5, lol. Thank you, that is all.
  15. @Writer: Actually season 3 is only 13 episodes because the initial order for the series was only 65 episodes which is the usual number of episodes ordered for toons such as this. But of course due to its popularity, it will indeed last past the 65 episode mark. My guess is that Season 4 will be the usual episode count again, hopefully. I for one agree with others though, it would be nice to see a theatrical feature down the line. I mean if we can get 3 explosin ridden overrated big-budget Bayformers films, no reason we can't get at least one solid MLP feature. Heck they could even try to get Lauren Faust to come back to work on it, yeah...that would be pretty sweet. But ahh enough of my rambling, back on topic. Yes, yes there will be more seasons past three, but weather we just get one more or a dozen more, it all depends on how much $$$ & ratings we poor into the franchise, and the HUB.
  16. Oh great, another one of these...oy vey. I understand why people ask stuff like this, but really people? 1. It's a Cartoon 2. WE DON'T KNOW ANY OF THEIR ACTUAL AGES (Lauren Faust herself has said the mane cast weren't given actual ages but were mentally the equivlant of human teens 12-18.) 3. There both mythological creatures I mean if a Dragon and a Donkey can get together in shrek (and c'mon we know that Dragon was much older and larger then that donky, lol) and aliens can get together with humans, bald martial artists can marry androids, Spike & Rarity getting together isn't that far fetched or odd. And yes technically Spike is the youngest of the group, as he was hatched when Twilight was a Filly (my guess is only slightly younger then the CMC are now) But still, I dont' see any reason the two characters can't end up together once all is said & done. Of course the two developing an actual romantic relationship during the show just isn't going to happen, this is a kids show after all, and its FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC NOT FRIENDSHIPPING, lol. But yes I for one do expect Spike to win over Rarity once the show comes to a close, just like I expect to get to see what the CMC's cutie marks will be and Rainbow Dash to at least get offered a chance at the Wonderbolts. But again not until a series finale, final season type situation. Maybe a film. But ahh yeah, I don't think anyones to old or to young for anybody because we don't know any of the characters actual ages.
  17. I'm pretty sure the team that works on the show has already confirmed the series will be renewed past the initial order of 65 episodes (seasons 1-3) they keep hiring more writers & staff...so yeah there will be more past season 3, how many, well thats all up to how well the merchindise & toys sell, and how good the ratings are. So yeah like they say $$$ & ratings talk, you want more pony buy pony swag and watch the show when it airs on the HUB.
  18. I miss the way anime was in the 90's back when like video games it was just for us old fashioned nerdy types... most modern anime is just otaku pandering drek in my personal opinion, hardly anything that still grabs my eye anymore aside from the occasional theatrical feature or something from the Noitamina Block. Studio wise still enjoy Gainax & Madhouse works, but overall yeah most anime made over the past 7 or so years...not really my cup of tea honestly. But hey to each their own.
  19. I'll be the brash one to say it.. I LIKE MERRIWEATHER WILLIAMS EPISODES!!! Honestly I for one LOVE her episodes (sans Mare-Do-Well, which even it has some charm to it after afew watches.) But yeah I think people are unfairly critical of her episodes just because she had a weak start, I mean again IMO aside from MMDW, the rest of her work, "Hearthwarmings Eve", "Putting Your Hoof Down", and "Dragon Quest" Have all been pretty enjoyable epsiodes, infact I would say their some of my favorites of season 2. Anywho, getting on topic and ranting aside. What I like about MerriWeather Williams episodes are that they (IMO) Actually do feel simmilar to toons from the 90's early 00's. Some people comment on one of the reasons they like MLP is that it reminds them of some of the toons they watched in the 90's, I think Williams episodes have that feeling the most. I also like how she, like Larson isn't afraid to develop the characters & the world. Admitingly she may develop the characters by showing their more negative sides, traits, but thats not a bad thing, giving depth to a character (IMO) involves showing the best of their positive & negative sides. As for the Episodes themselves Mysterious Mare-Do-Well: Admitingly a weak episode, but it does have alot of nice visual moments, the Darkwing Duck, Batman:TAS & Spider-Man references are nice. And it was fun to see Rainowdash let her fame go to her head to the point she was desperate once it was gone. Yeah the way they attained the moral was flawed, her friends shouldn't have tricked her, or at least apologized to her after she did to them, but meh still a decent romp. Hearthwarming's Eve: I really like this episode, not only do we learn how Equestria was founded, but the moral about how Hate is foolish and only leads to death & destruction and love can bring salvation really resonated with me, sure its abit cheesy, but its heartwarming dag nab it, and a heck of a better Holiday special then you see from most other media/shows these days, lol Putting Your Hoof Down: This episodes is just fun, Iron Will is a fun character, and Fluttershy being assertive is just awesomely entertaining, sure she over does it and becomes a jerk, but c'mon its such a jarring 180, how can you not enjoy it!? And again the moral is solid, its important to learn to stand up for yourself in a civil manner. Dragon Quest: Ok yeah I can see why people complain about this, it doesn't really answer any questions about Spike or Dragons, and the sparity pandering feels tacked on, but dag nab it, its still an enjoyable episode, I like the development we get for dragons & pheonix's, seeing how they live out in the badlands and what not, also the symbolism of Spike Riding the black sheep on his way to catch up with the great dragon migration was just great! And personally I don't mind the Spike/Rarity thing taking a 180 from usual in this episode, it was fun to see Rarity finally giving him the affection he wanted but Spike being to embarrassed/distressed to enjoy it. So yeah MerriWeather's style may be a bit more brash and cynical then a few other writers, but I for one think far to many fans are overly negative towards the poor gal merely because she had a weak start, she's been in the business for a long time, she knows how to write a toon, don't believe me just go look at her work on Angry Beavers, Adventure Time, Spongebob, etc. And I personally consider her one of my favorite writers to work on the show along with M.A. Larson, Megan Mcarthy & Cindy Morrow! I also LOVE M.A. Larson & Megan McCarthy! I look forward to seeing more of Larson's & MerriWeather's work in season 3, but sad Megan left, she wrote some pretty good eps. You know what, ALL the writers on the show are AMAZING in their own right, and all deserve a big thumbs up, high five & a hug!
