I made a song for Kiki Havivy as my hope that she makes a full recovery.

I don't need critiques, this is from the heart it's just something i wanted to share before I spoke to Mando Pony about a colabberation.

I always like singing along with it, despite not having an idea of what it's about, so it's nice to have what seems like a bit of context- a destroyed relationship. The same goes for the rest of the songs on Sigh No More. I'd like to figure out a bit to do with Dust Bowl Dance, I love the part where it goes "There will come a time I will look in your eye, you will pray to the God that you always denied," It's just really powerful.

 

In a related note: I haven't heard anything outside the album Sigh No More, what others are there and are they as good?

In all honesty, I don't listen to Mumford and Sons that much...I prefer the Lumineers

 

That is a good theory and all were it not for the minor time differences 5 years plus I believe. but i'm being serious here. it haunts me to this day what hidden meanings this has. so much potential in so little verses.

So as my Topic states, what exactly is the meaning behind this song. Marcus Mumford explained that "It's a very personal story, so I won't elaborate upon too much. Suffice to say, it was a situation in my life I wasn't very happy with or proud of… and sometimes when you can't describe a feeling with your own words, it's almost easier to express in a song. And then, when you get asked about the songs, it's quite difficult to explain. It's a conundrum"

Suffice to say that these words make it all the more interesting, something that needs unraveling.

here is what I have so far

(Don't waste the time that you have been given on perfecting your life and relationship. Courage could also be referring to liquid courage meaning alcohol which can alleviate problems as well as cause them, so this can be a double meaning )

You don't need to be able to sing to rap. Rapping is just speaking with rhythm and flow. But if you can't really rap either, I know a good few brony rappers who might be interested in spittin' your verses. I'll see if any of them are interested. Either way, I'll let you know what happens within the next day or so.

You're kind of missing the point, TC. Music, especially vocal music, is all about expression, getting your feelings out there to be heard. It would completely defeat the purpose if everybody only wrote love and happiness. By discounting negative subject matter, you're trying to limit the range emotion that an artist can express, and limits are an artists worst enemy. It's fine that you prefer music with a positive message, but you should recognize that as your own taste, and not try to impose it on others. Doing so is nothing but intolerant. That being said, you're entitled to your opinion, and I respect it.

 

Avaricious, love the lyrics! Do you have any way of recording the vocals? If you do, I'd love to produce an instrumental for it!

 

I'd love to be able to sing but unfortunately I cannot sing well but as long as we find somepony else to sing and credit is given then I would love for you to produce an instrumental for it. do you know any singers?

Simple: the stars.

Whenever I can see them, Anyone I meet will be good-natured, happy, etc. I've found a couple of cool things out at night.

On a cloudy night when there are none, Things just don't seem as....Good.

If I had to make a symbol of it, I probably wouldn't...It's just not the same, and it would probably end up looking like a 'gram, which ain't so good..

 

(And no, I don't just randomly go out into the the night, I have a dog to walk at near midnight.)

 

I for one adore Luna's beautiful night, It's so calm and peaceful. Sometimes I go out into the night and just meditate it's the perfect time to find a state of pure Zen. Thank you Luna for your beautiful night I do appreciate it.

Shard I for one find that a good luck charm is akin to that of a cutie mark. you will find one at the right moment you just have to be patient and it will come when you least expect it.

While i wouldn't call it a good luck charm, i do always carry around a Suicune pokemon card and a Archon of Justice magic card in my wallet, just to remind me of the past.

 

That seems quite interesting. I carry a door to nothingness card with me not for luck but purely because I like to show it around at tournaments and drafts

Okay. I'm sorry. Instead of asking I just went and edited your lyrics a little. Much more simpler to do it that way. I hope you like it cuase it took me alot of time to figure as i'm sure it did you too. You can still keep the lyrics you wrote but if you read how i've worded it above and edited it. I'm sure you'll find the whole thing alot warmer. The only part that still isn't sitting right is the last verse. Still seems funky.

 

Thanks for the edit, but the whole idea of the song is someone doubting themselves but then coming to terms with their own doubts and bettering themselves for it. it need to have the darker/colder side to it to allow for that effect.

No, I don't have a good luck charm. Not yet, at least. Although, I really do want one, I'm just not sure what it would be yet. Probably something MLP related.

 

it's up to you but don't just go get something related to something you already know and call it a good luck charm. half the time it won't work but if it does your really lucky. you have to let it find you and you will be truly lucky when it does. sometimes you will have that moment at a market looking at something in a stall your mind telling you to buy it. It's an entirely different feeling being called to something than wanting it. but i can guarantee you that it's worth the wait.

This is my necklace that I wear everyday. It reminds me of the Princess of the Sun and whenever I wear it I seem to be the most lucky person alive.

wearing it I have found money countless times, gotten my job baking which I couldn't live without, opened so many rare MTG cards, had life threatening accidents only to come out unscathed.

Not really I just followed the most basic rap layout that i have seen. intro, small verse, small verse, chorusx2, small verse, small verse, chrousx2, rinse/repeat.

Woah, bro! Nice. Although, as Twilight Circuit has said, You can get your point across without swearing. When you swear a little, It sounds worse than it actually is. So you either have to swear like Rai's Hell,or not at all. Personally, I recommend you don't swear at all. You are a pretty good lyric-smith. If only that were a word, lol. That could be your rapper name. "Lyric-Smith's great feedback from his work on the MLP forums has made him decide to go vinyl, and get a gig!". Although, You really need to lay off the foul language. I get offended easily, so it might just be me.

Getting punched in the throat by a boxer puppy, he popped up off the grooming table to try and play with the brush and jabbed me right in the throat, talk about sucktastic, not to mention I work in a glass box and there were people watching as I gasped for air and tried to remain calm.

I slipped on some random puddle of water near the sink, and hit a pipe with my foot under the sink. Luckily one of my co-workers caught me so I didn't fall too hard. However, the pipe broke and was spitting water out of the pipe. My boss got it repaired the next day and it costed $120 to fix. O_o

 

did the bits come outta your pay or did the big boss jus' not worry so much about it? Some bosses can be nice like that or maybe i'm jus' lucky.

oh it very much will I am quite the disaster area when it comes to accident's. Twilight aint got nothing on me, falling piano's pfft. All in the day in the life of this here pony.

I've had stuff falling of shelves on me at work. I didn't squeal, but I did exclaim "holy shit!' rather loudly and jumped back, which caused me to knock other stuff down. Came out unscathed, but I still got in trouble :/

 

I have things happen like that more often than not at work. I have developed the art of using the Gaelic tongue to swear so nobody (unless of course an Irish fella walks on by) is offended.

I work the ovens at a bakery and burn my arms at least 3 times a day.

You would not believe what happened to me at work,

I knelt down to put cheese in the fridge and accidentally kneed the supporting bar which caused all the shelves to tilt downwards on top of me and me to squeal out in fear for my life like a little girl.

Have you ever had fridge shelves careening towards you? It sucks, I promise. It makes you squeal. Not scream, not gasp, not cry out in pain… It makes you squeal. Specifically because every muscle in your body, throat included, tenses up as hard as it can. It’s awful. Just awful. So uhhh… Yeah i had every reason to squeal

Cut to the part where I’m huddled on the ground twitching, drooling because I’ve lost all motor control.

more specifically my boss Tim just staring at me while i'm all like "why can i hold all these shelves" and him being all "because you rack disiprine"

but still evenything fell on top of me, it bucking hurt and i want to hear some work related incidents/mishaps that everypony else has been in.

I would marry Fluttershy so that i could live with her in that beautiful open field, in her wonderful cottage. that my dream home. So I can tell her I love her every day and see that beautiful, sheepish tender smile that she has when she's happy . Just look at her.

Growing up has never been an easy task for me. while I admit that I do have it better than most I will also admit that the ideals that some have it better are flawed. I am a very sick individual and while leaving for Equestria in the body of a pony sounds like a dream come true for me, it is just that. a false hope, a fools errand, a castle in the sky.

Sadly it will never be and as I say this now everypony I am half expecting to be whisked away and proven wrong but know in my heart that it will never happen. While I am fed up with this world I still have my friends whom I love, my Family I would never wish to lose even if I know they are safe and all of you. my Bronies I could not in good conscience leave you all to the rot of this world while I experience that which you all seek. Eternal happiness, bliss, love and a life in Equestria.

While I say all this now I can tell you all that this just goes to show, we already have all that here. We have happiness, bliss, friendship and we make our own Equestria right here. we may have our limits but those boundaries help us grow for the better.
