I would much prefer a Forum Member of the month as opposed to the FIM pony of the month. Mostly because when you're pleasing other REAL people, it feels much better than honoring ideological characterizations of a persona. If you were going to do a Forum member of the month, I would be 120% interested in helping out with choosing who gets the spotlight.

 

But then again, why make it forum member of the month? That's a bit long. Why not the week?

 

Maybe we could do both like tell the owner about this and he could give a tag to the member of the week so they could be seen by everyone and not just a few. On top of that we could also do pony of the month so people could learn more about these ponies. WUB YOU

 

I think this is a very interesting idea that could catch on relatively fast if it gets enough attention. I feel like a lot of people would like to see something like this, and I would support you in making this forum. There should be some restrictions, because the same pony would most likely be chosen over and over again. Or maybe after a pony has been chosen, that one can't be picked for a while. Good idea none-the-less.

 

Instead of Pony of the Month, I think it should be Pony of the Week. OR even Pony of the Episode? Where we would spotlight a specific episode and vote on which pony contributed most (or was just flat out awesome).

 

I would pick about 5 or so ponies and then when the number 1 pony gets picked i throw the other 4 back into a hat and then pick 5 more for the next month and put the one that won into a different hat where he/she will sit till all the ponies have been exhausted. Thanks for the input. WUB YOU

So.... A pony popularity contest?

It sounds less like getting to know NEW ponies, and more like bringing popular ponies more popularity. I really think it shouldn't be a vote... maybe like a random raffle or something. If your goal is to know all ponies you outta consider alot of them aren't known Thats just why voting wont work. If youre voting for something you know already, HOW are you going to meet/learn somepony/something?

 

I see what you are saying and that is not what i mean by voting i mean i will pick background ponies such as FleetFoot and Pokey Pierce i would choose like 3 or 4 and then you can vote on which one we should talk about. Yesterday I was chatting with a fellow Brony when we thought of this amazing idea to get everypony familiar will all the ponies and show some support to those ponies that don't get mentioned as much or desire a little credit.

 

Q: What would we do?

 

A: We would start up a forum and talk about when that pony shows up in the show, what does he/she do, what makes he/she special, we would share pictures of that pony (if any), share our opinions about that pony, talk about how much and how does he/she affects Equestria, and share stories about that pony (if any)

 

Q: How could I show my support?

 

A: Well you could vote on how often you would participate in it and to show your pride for the pony of the month you should create a picture of he/she, write a story with he/she, make he/she be in you Role Plays, make a song and or about he/she, and change your profile picture to that pony.

 

Q: Why should we do this

 

A: So people can learn about new ponies in the background that they might have missed while watching an episode or one of the more common ones and so they get to know them better then just a background pony since everypony is unique and should be recognized. It is also possible one of the mane 6 could be chosen to be pony of the month.

 

Q:Will we vote on the pony of the month?

 

A: I think that if this really becomes popular and people like this idea then I think we will vote on the pony of the month. Sadly I won't be able to tell you how I will pick the candidates but I tell you when I can.

A: No it is not, this is where i will put a random number of ponies and we will vote on which one we should choose all of them will be not very well know so don't think that one of them will be Rainbow Dash or Twilight Sparkle.

A: Maybe i have not truly decided on that yet and not sure if enough people will participate in it but if you like the idea say so by replying in the topic or messaging me.

Every comment was very useful but i have decided to go ahead and read the dresden files since that seems to be what i am looking for. I am looking for a new book to read, I am looking for a book the has to do with supernatural things such as demons, zombies, ect. nothing too dull or romantic and I have already read Darren Shan. Any suggestions?

I have just finished the first book to a 12 series book. The ending left me wondering what will happen next so i look when the next book come out and i found out that it is coming out in 3 MONTHS i wouldn't mind if i had to wait a month but three months i thought that he would have already made the next book by now. So my question is why does it take so long for the next book to come out?

Love is a feeling we all have when we meet that special someone. To die over someone is complete non sense since if you both love each other to death and one of you dies then the other one will kill him or her self because you threw away your life saving his/hers life meaning that their death will be on your hands. Also to be happy after losing your special someone you need to stop drowning yourself in you sorrows and move on with your life. There will always be someone else out there that is willing to love you just as much as the last person did.

I kinda don't want her to talk for several reasons....

 

1)Making a background character talk ruins the concept of "background character".

 

2)She wouldn't be that special anymore.

 

3)The internet would flip the fuck out like the situation with Derpy.

 

And I think number 3 is the most important one...

 

I do not belive that the internet would "Flip fuck" like Derpy since she was not liked due to the fact parents were thinking that her voice was making fun of special ed kids. But with Vinyl I do not see why you are all thinking that this will end bad what clue do you have that says this will not end well?

I know you are a DJ-PON3 fan, but I doubt she will make a significant role in the future seasons. I think The Hub did it only because the fanbase requested it.

 

I don't belive we requested it, I think it was how many people liked her that might get her a speacking role.

 

Its almost better if she doesn't because we all get to have more fun sculpting her. If she does i hope she sounds like she did in epic wub time. Speaking of which someone needs to take that idea to FOX. A DJ and a Cellist living with each other?!?!? Epic new sitcom idea!!!

The one thing that saddens me here is that very few of you have faith in how it will turn out I mean can you learn to have faith, people are going to hate it, there is no way around that someone in this world hates something everyone else likes there is no way around it. Also I am not understanding this whole backround thing like she won't be a backround pony anymore? That just doesn't sound right, their getting a speaking role but lots of other backround ponies got to speak why not Octavia and Vinyl? Also they won't stop being backround poines I bet you that they will pop up again in the backround in special events like when they go to Canterlote and only giving them a speaking part might take them further and they will only be side charatcers not main characters.

 

I never was a big fan of DJ-PON3. I think her role as a background pony if fine. I mean she only appeared in 2 episodes for a few seconds. Why would they make an episode about her?

 

That is like asking why did they give derpy a speacking and I never said they were going to make an episode i said that Octavia is getting an episode but i is not focused on her it is focused on Rarity. But an episode with one of the mane 6 with Vinyl would make me have a heart attack.

Well, Octavia is just a background pony, so it's more likely that it will be a Rarity episode with Octavia getting a minor speaking role somewhere in there.

 

I belive that the episode will be centered around the two of them so she will have a nice speaking part in the whole episode.

Since I have been told that Rarity and Octavia are getting an episode how well do you think that will go? Will it end up like when Derpy got to talk? Also Derpy was only in there for a minute and now a backround pony is coming in and getting a full episode I don't know if i should be happy for Octavia or if I should be sad knowing she might be kicked off because of her voice or how she acts?

Wow so many people being nice unlike my school where if your not strong your left behind in the dust.

Now this is what i think on the trading card it says they might preform a duet and that makes me wonder will they both be in one episode trying to see who is better. That could be a good lesson to learn even if you share many diffrences dosen't mean you can't be thier friend.

I have heard that Octavia and Rarity are going to get teir own episode so Octavia will talk but what about Vinyl? Will she get an episode with one of the mane 6 or will Dj Pon-3 continue to be a silent backround pony?
