My Rarity Equestria Girls doll in a Monster high skirt and bow. Along with the things she came with. (Minus the MLP toy.) So that is the real deal of the doll.
So you own Monster High Dolls? Would you mind posting comparison pictures of the Rarity doll and an MH doll? From a picture posted over at /toy/'s MH General, the EQG dolls seem to reach the MH dolls to their shoulders.
It'd be highly appreciated!

I think Ink Rose from youtube has the best interpretation. It falls in line with how I've personally have viewed the sisters to be. Basically members of a race that are the pony equivalent of the Tolkien Elves.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFv1pcJe00U
She also refers to what Cadence and Twilight are as "Artificial Alicorns".
Taking into account the Pony Elve Equivalent Theory, and interpreting them as a race that somehow has near died out. I've thought of the intentions of StarSwirl's spell to be an attempt at creating Alicorns in order to bring the race back to it's former glory. But I may be wrong as I don't really recall the words of the spell.
Show spoiler below (sorta)
In an interview with lauren faust, she was asked whether twilight will outlive her friends, being an alicorn. Lauren Faust answered that twilight, despite being an alicorn will not outlive her friends.
Meghan said that. Not Lauren.

Lauren said they're young adults with a 12 year old mindset if I recall.
The EQG universe is just a universe where the ages and lifepspans of the FiM characters work differently. Just because it's an alternate universe, doesn't mean your counterpart has to be the same age as you.

Discord isn't, really a dragon though. They would have called him Discord or something like, a creature made from the parts of many other creatures, but you could still very well be completely correct.
His species' name basically translates as "dragon horse" from latin to english. Plush his body shape resembles an asian dragon. While I feel Discord is more equine than anything else. He gives a strong dragonic impression.

I dont understand why Lauren's intentions or opinions are even relevant anymore considering she hasn't done anything for mlp since season 2. I mean dont get me wrong I love Lauren she is the reason we even got mlp in the first place but I dont think she is the be all and end all for ponies considering she openly admits she hasnt watched most of season 3. I just dont understand why people keep bringing Lauren up when Megan Mcauthy is the one currently in charge.
Cause she had a vision. A vision that's the reason we like this show for in the first place and why many fear Hasbro's meddling. A vision that I say trancends more than why this show is awesome.
Also.

As much as it pains me.
Lauren actually had this/something along this lines planned.

People keep overlooking this little comment of her's during her recent visit to /mlp/.

Has anyone read the summary for EQG? Someone steals a crown from the Crystal Kingdom and escapes through a magic mirror that transports one to a human realm. Twilight chases after them and ends up there.
I placing my bits that Miss Lucha Mask here is the one who stole that crown.

I'm not saying that it's canon, which I understand it is. All I'm asking is if it will become an actual episode, perhaps even the two-part S4 premiere!
I seriously hope not.I read that novel. That novel is just shallow and cheesy. I know it's for little kids. But oh my god, considering the vast world Equestria is set in, they go for some silly repetative takes on things. Only thing worthwhile is the fact that two popular characters return, and are apparently buddies now. But they've been demoted to lackeys, heck novel even calls them that.
-
That novel's apparently canon. So I doubt that after Twilight going through so much trouble for that spell that they'll have her resign the title and wings.

Met many of them at conventions. Don't give a damn. Why should I care about any of this guys? I'm actually annoyed by the big deal made out them in this community. The fandom puts this people on pedestals they do not deserve to be in.
Though, I will say Dusty is a very good guy. Having met him at BronyCon and Unicon was nice.

I do feel Rarity is the one that designed this outfits. Wish I could say the same for the alicorn sisters and Cadence though. Lol.

As much as I'm loving the comics so far. I have to agree with this. And I'm getting the irking feeling that contradictions may arise. But there's also the fact that FiM is going to span into novels, with the first one centering around Twilicorn and Cadence's rise to Princesshood. Meghan McCarthy mentioned to me at the signing in Unicon that they plan to expand in-show mythologies in those books. No comments on her part on the comics though, but I don't think it rules out the canonicity of the comics. Andy Price mentioned in his panel at Unicon how his team is aware of in-show things in advance.I only really take the comics as semi-canon. But yes, that is a good point. We'll just have to see what the show have to say about it when or if they appear in that again? I mean, if there is a contradiction between the show and comic, I'll side with the show.
I personally like the take the comics have one the Changelings. Andy Price in his Unicon panel also mentioned how he sees Chrysalis as a monster. Only time will tell if the show will pick up on this interpretation or not.

Actually, it does not necessarily mean they don't have a homeland. They could turn those areas they conquer into imperial colonies, like an empire of sorts.
Comics explictly state they conquer, feed and move on to the next. What's the point of staying behind is there is nothing to feed off of and the Queen isn't present?
-
The comic only has one story under it's belt. I say it's way to early to say it's better.
Though based on today's released issue. I'm enjoying it's portrayal of Celestia more. Lol. Even if it lasted only a few pages. -
As much as I wish this was the case. Nope. Everything was reality. The adventures of Twilight Sparkle shall continue with her being a petite alicorn thingy.
-
Luna plushie I got signed by Larson and Tabitha. It's like the holy grail of my collection I guess. And the fact that it's proven to be so durable despite making some harsh trips make it even more special. http://imgur.com/AV9XnT7

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that no, I don't think that this was hasbro's idea at all.
Here's the thing, the entire proclaimed reason that Twilight became an Alicorn was because Hasbro wanted to sell more toys. However, I work at walmart, and frequent the MLP section. We have NO Alicorn Twilight toys at all.
And look at this here,
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12827431
This has everything from Twilight's Princess Coronation, except the wings. And if you search Twilight Sparkle on Toy R' Us, the name in toys, There is not a single piece of Twilicorn merchandise. Believe me, if this was Hasbro's idea for selling more toys, Walmart and TRU would be loaded with them.
No, I think that this was actually planned pretty much from the word go.
Dude the toy is to be released in August. If you work in retail you take notice that isles are changed twice a year. February and August. Usually entirely new toy lines or new line additions to previous toylines are released in August. Ofcourse Toys R Us has nothing listed. And TRU.com isn't the most trustworthy source. I work for that company. We sometimes get stuff in they haven't listed on their website.

Yes. Why?
Dude. HASBRO. TOY COMPANY. Since the beggining this franchise has been about selling toys. The show was made to re-launch the franchise. And if you've taken notice, since that re-launch an Alicorn Princess has been at the helm of the toy line for about a year. Celestia helmed it from 2011-2012, Cadence helmed it from 2012-13. Now it's the turn for another to take the lead. And Hasbro decided for Twilicorn.
Cadence was made an alicorn purely out of Hasbro's decision to push toysales. Twilicorn is no different. Little girls are going to go crazy over it. From a bussiness perspective it makes sense, Twilight is a familiar face, and making her an alicorn is "new". Aim for two birds to kill with one stone. You've instantly got a toy that'll translate great with the kiddies.

Some books. More from the IDW Comics. Ofcourse Season 4. And possible expansion of in-world mythology and character roles.

According to Daniel Ingram. It was Hasbro.

The MLP S3 Finale episode aired today, FINALLY!! I was a tall order from Hasbro… "Let's make it a musical", "All the ponies will change cutie marks, then they get them back, and we need songs about THAT!", "Oh, and Twilight get's WINGS." I'm not going to lie, it was a daunting task and some of the songs got shortened to fit it all in, but in the end my team and I are really proud of the music and hope you enjoy the episode. Special thanks to Will Anderson for letting Steffan and myself do the underscore for this one. Now, go Twilight! -
Possible alternate continuity that has the Mane Six as humans/humanoid horse thingies that won't accept the main show? Okay, I don't mind.
Pointless change to a main character done for no reason other than to sell crappy toys and is bound to bring more questions than answers within the show's continuity? NO.
Basically, Why Equestria Girls and not Princess Twilicorn.
-
She's not a horse. She's just a type of alicorn pony thing that's tall. Luna should reach the same height when she's fully grown. Hell, Celestia's taller than Saddle Arabian horses.
-
No one's reading the comics it seems. Because the Changelings don't seem to act like hive drones. They actually question and suggest to Chrysalis. They seem pretty sentient on their own.
-
Celestia would most likely consider peace between the Changelings and Equestria as the ideal scenerio and probly go for it if it was possible. The Changelings, not so much.

BronyCon 2014 Location?
in Sugarcube Corner
· Edited by himanuts
BronyCon's staying in Baltimore for a while. And Baltimore's fine. The location was fun and almost anything one'd need is within walking distance. Hopefully the can rent out even more space within the convention center to make things more effiicient for attendees.
And geesh. I have to make a 6 hour flight trip from the Caribbean to Baltimore, and you don't see me complaining.
