  1. The werepony nodded, murmuring an agreement on vengance. But looking for trouble never was a good idea. He glanced at the woods, wondering what Epic and Renegrade were doing. Perhaps they'd come to their senses. Spidey wondered if he should go try helping them with whatever they were doing.
  2. Spidey flipped the long, grass-like fur out of his eyes, back bebind his doctor scope. He avoided eye contact, unsure which side he as on. He realized he didn't have to pick a side- he could just be on his own or become the peacemaker. The colt had fresh ideas for whatever this "band of monsters" needed, and Darkshift probably had ideas of rebellion, or something along those lines. Dr. Grayburn raised an eyebrow, observing Darkshift. "'Superior', eh? Do you want no one superior over you, or any other monster, for that matter? Is rebellion against the ponies' cruel shunning of monsters what you want?" He beckoned, his hoof tapping his chin in speculation.
  3. Dr. Grayburn flinched. 'Dog-breath'. 'Useless.' He knew Renegrade and Darkshift would probably never get along with each other. He had tried to intervene, but the argument was too quick. The young colt frowned at his fellow werepony and then at the direction they left. Although he didn't agree with the two, Renegrade didn't deserve being called 'useless', and Darkshift equally deserved a say in "The Family". With nothing to do, he trotted towards Darkshift to try to redeemn his reputation in the group. Perhaps they would find some agreement if they'd just had help. "Hey, Darkshift. How're you doin'?" the pony greeted, offering an ear to listen. "I know you don't agree with them, with their "monarchy"," Spidey rolled his eyes, "And I don't either. Maybe we could compromise, try to... yah' know, forgive each other..."
  4. Spidey rolled his eyes at the thought of a 'civilization'. Living in the Everfree forest. How typical ... He watched as the scene played out before him- and he agreed with Darkshift. It was unrealistic, and just, well, too degrading for a monster to do. If you're a monster, shouldn't you act like one? Dr. Grayburn didn't answer that question; all he knew was that he'd rather live alone, or with fellow wereponies as himself. The colt didn't want to be governed by two love-struck ponies who thought all rainbows (thus, Epic Rainbow) and love were gonna come from making "The Family". It would really just be a pack of monsters, rejected from society. And the Royal Guard wouldn't take that lightly. He kept out of the fight, frowning. Ponies got too defensive sometimes, tryin' to act tough. It particularly annoyed him that Renegade was quick to accuse. Jealous? Yeah, right... "Nay," the werepony left the tree, "I've gotta agree with Darkshift- we're monsters and building a 'civilization' could provoke a war between monsters and ponies eventually. And how many monsters are there? Not many. So, I am proud of being a monster, because I can't change it. I probably won't be terrorizing Equestria, but I already lost my family, and makin' a new one isn't gonna be the same as the old one...." Spidey's ears twitched nervously, casting a glance at Darkshift before looking at the others' input.
  5. Dr. Grayburn looked towards the direction the group was heading and sped off to catch up with Darkshift again. He was beginning to get really bored. So, the colt transformed into his werepony-self and raced off into the trees (cause, you know, wereponies can do that). His limbs were very long, his fur somewhat thicker, especially his mane. Spidey didn't exactly have claws, more like little sprouting that helped him grip onto limbs easily. The transformation was always delightful. He looked down below at the other ponies- he resembled a spider now! Dr. Grayburn sat on the tree, ears perked as the others continued on. The werepony's eyes widened, spotting a pretty yellow pegasis in the window. She seemed amazed and fearful. Within a blink of an eye, she had her lights, illuminating the dim evening, and was quick to cower under her covers. He paid no mind, expecting nothing less of it.
  6. Spidey's ears flickered nervously, noticing the new-found love Epic Rainbow and Renegade suddenly possessed. Jeez, they sure get along well... His attention were quickly captured by Darkshift's standoffish regard towards the two lovebirds. With a steady trot, the colt swiftly made his way to the fellow werepony, glancing up with wide-eyed wonder. He was quite the child, yet could only feel slight fear and awe towards the mysterious werepony. "Hai, Darkshift," Dr. Grayburn grinned, eager to impress, "Whatcha think of us monsters bein' in one place? We could call ourselves, uh, the... the Les Miserables, or the Disharmonic, or...," the pony tapped his hoof to his chin, then quickly thought of a long-awaited question he'd always wondered about his species, "Hey, do you transform on the full moon, or is that just some old mare's tale?"
  7. 120000@$% YES! I would LOVE if Discord would sing :3 Dat voice.... am I the only one who thinkz that voice is asexy? fanboyism aside, I've always wanted that draconeques to sing. Now THAT would be epic and definitely a signature of De Lancie's role in the brony community / the show. He's a brilliant singer in Bronies, and if Daniel Ingram composes it... H.A.M. I kinda though bronies would have a good Discord dubstep, but oh well~ (correct me if I'm wrong). Come ta think of it, is John De Lancie a brony or just a supporter of his character and his fans?
  8. Probably my favorite episode, tied with Lights, Camera, Mongoose! Sunil's accent... <3 I loved it when he dressed as a nurse ad sung in Humanarian+Wolf-I-Fied :3 Anywho, good review. I wish there were more fans, but its too early to tell if it'll really make it like MLP. Just hope there's (show quality) improvement in S2! and memes...
  9. I really do love the characters, but I'm kinda beginning to wonder at the point how similar they are to the Main Six. I'd kinda be a retake, but while some similararities are OK, too many is not. I really am questioning if there is anything signifigant in personality opposing/unique in Minka, Penny, and Zoe compared to Pinkie, Flutters, and Rarity. Maybe I'll do an analysis.... BTW, Sunil is best pet
  10. My headcannon is that Discord is a lot more child-like that he knows. Remember how he treated the ponies like "dolls" to make himself laugh or whatever instead of making them obey his every whim or work like most villains? Trixie, Chrysallis, Sombra, they all had different motives. Discord only wanted to make Equestria his magical playground, it seems. So, when he was banished, it seemed that all his little tricks and such were harmless until it got out of control. I think he treated them like real-life "dolls"(in a sense) to amuse himself with and stuff when he was bored, and when he did get bored and tired with them, he probably tortured them more or messed up Equestria badly in a fit. Something big happened to make them banish him for 1000 years. If we only knew what..... And if Discord never had a friend, maybe it's because he never grew out of something-- he never learned to empathize with ponies and see them as "people" instead of just toys. My other headcannon is, like Discord, the Elements of Harmony can "poof" to any place in Equestria when used. Like, when Twilight and the Elements used it against him, it didn't matter if he was on the other side of the world or anything, the magic used to stone him was powerful enough to travel wherever the magic was focused on by Twilight Sparkle (which was Discord) and stone him. My other headcannons include: Discord has some sort of physic mental power, Discord/Celestia never happened (or at least he broke her heart so bad that he was stoned for 1000 years), Discord had a jacked up childhood (why he's so unsympathetic to the ponies as individuals), Discord won't fall in love/at least won't notice any mare's feelings for him in that way. So, I have a lengthy blog post on it as to why I believe these things, if you want: http://mlpforums.com/blog/832/entry-5152-headcannons-analysis-discord-ramble/
  11. Dr. Grayburn's pupils shrunk significantly. Becoming tiny, round spheres shifting up-and-down, left-and-right. He squeaked, hiding within a bush, his long legs shaking in freight. Gently placing a hoof on a branch to see who made the dreadful scream, the green colt spotted the lone zompony resting in despair on top of a rock. The colt's ears perked as he saw Epic Rainbow arrive, soothing and merciful towards the new-comer. With his tail between his legs, the young werepony stepped out from the nightshade bush. Spidey crept close to the ground, straightening when he realized the zompony was just a friend in need. "I-If anyone's hideous, it's me," he murmured. "All f-full of fur and creepy eyes and fangs when I turn to meh true form. At leas-st you're just a regular dead pony, I'm just a timber wolf waiting to pre-ey on ponies," Dr. Grayburn sighed. "And that didn't stop me from esc-escapin' 'fore th-they c-could....," the colt trailed off before shaking his head vigorously to forget, "I'm s-sorry you feel that way, but we have a group of monsters with us, too. One is even a zompony. I'm Dr. Grayburn, but most call me Spidey..." The young colt gave a small, reassuring smile.
  12. I personally think femininity/masculinity are both based on society's standards- I generally like both sides of the spectrum, certain aspects of each. Perhaps I'm "fememasculine" or whatever. Wait, what? what? ah... *relaxes* Uh, ANYWHO... I'm interested in hunting, hiking, fishing(even if it does kinda bore me when I don't catch fish), bee-bee gun games (have no one to play with tho :'(, I want a short boy cut(and I mean boy), and a mustache :3 Yeah, I'm weird. Once I had a dream I had whiskers on my sides and lip (in a mirror), got nervous at first then excited in the dream. Had to wake up tho :/ I'd like to try archery, wilderness stuff courses but $ real tight right now :'( I am not at all afraid to get my hands dirty I've always had an interest in nature. I also like video games (but they can get old on me quick sometimes), computers, science... I've had a few unintentional "ho hay" moments and other Easter eggs that I didn't notice until I thought back on them. RL Example: (on the topic of cheerleaders) Me: Do you want to be a cheerleader? Friend: Wait, I don't think I'd want to be. Me: Why not? *smirks* Friend: I'm not even-- I'm not exactly the type... *embarrassed; laughs* Me: *ROFLS* (anyone could mistake this as flirting, especially considering she was my best friend and how much we talked in that class, but I wasn't. This led me to think it's the reason why me and her were separated on the next sitting chart *shrug*) I'm socially awkward around guys and girls; girls are just easier to get along with, I guess, but they're not as "cool" and relatable as guys. What I do like about the girl spectrum is feminists (unless they're crazy), the sense of female empowerment as a theme (think Mulan), the "freedom" of experimenting (whereas, as a male, connecting with your feminine side is a lot harder). Well, there's not a whole lot I like about it; and the gender role, the sexism that women can get is terrible. I'd rather be a guy than a girl, due to the stigma chicks have sometimes (prostitution, video hoes, remarks suggesting girls are the weaker sex, etc. that I see very shameful to our gender). I don't appreciate the sort of attention females get sometimes, and how everyone automatically assumes girly = stupid; I don't like that I'm called a "girl" when people say little things like "you scream like a girl", "you run like a girl", etc. Girl = what I am, biologically; So they're saying, you run like me/us, you scream like me/us (even if I don't necessarily scream/run like a stereotypical girl, it's offensive) I don't want to be considered weak and unable/unwilling to do something men can do/socially required to do just because I'm not very strong (which is not because I'm a girl, I don't work out) doesn't mean that I wouldn't work out and be willing to do what bodybuilding/survival men can do. Of course, men have their bad side of their reputation, and women do, too, but biologically I'd rather be a guy, even if I'm not a lesbian.
  13. (What I meantersay was GREAT character development, plot, etc. W/out following MLPFIMs episodes).
  14. I don't understand how bronies place MLPFIM on a high pedastal; as a children's show, it's much better than average. As a family show in general, it is pretty good, perhaps more uniqu. Comparing the new style of MLPFIM, to the style LPS typically had before the show, wouldn't you say there is a resemblance in eyes- the most signifigant trait of both styles. Naturally, with the success of MLPFIM, Hasbro gave the show a similar style to suggest to bronies that LPS might have something in store for the whole family- adults, too. Like good humor, interesting characters, etc. I personally enjoy the show(LPS)- And like S1 of MLP, there were some great and bad moments. IDK, maybe Hasbro will continue the show and with S2 make it more like MLPFIM- In a GOOD way. As in, character developement, plotting, writing, etc. Only time will tell, but it is more of a kid's show than MLPFIM, it did have a few pop culture references (Star Trek, Thriller, etc). This may just be only the BEGINNING of new, great show (based off their original, bad 90's version)
  15. YAY PRINCESS MACINOTSH :3 @@Half-Note[/b], This topic really isn't serious, but why should any topic regarding MLP be serious (a family show)? People make a big deal out of everything sometimes; like EQG and Twilicorn. Haters gonna hate, best to just wait til' S4/movie before judging the princess thing and the highschool humans plot. Anywho, I definitely like the idea of Princess Macintosh. Would make a funny and cool fanfic
  16. I've never read much of Roman literature, but I still think the Odyssey was amazing, regardless of what type of literature it is. What Roman literature have you read? I never really got the chance to read Alice in Wonderland nor Throught the Looking Glass, and I enjoy ancient/old children's literature like Winnie the Pooh and Pinocchio (excellent classics, in my opinion). How did it compare to the movie? Was it as good or much better?
  17. "Oh yeah, and the fan fics too? Screw them to hell, literally. FiMFiction is cancer, and here's why......most of these stories serve no rhyme or reason. In order for a story to have beauty, one must embrace their writing with the utmost of care, which fan fiction writers rarely do." Yeah, I can agree on you with that one. There are alot of 'dirty' ones, too, like the "Mature" entitled ones. I don't agree with making things PG-14 or up when it comes to fanfiction-- PG-13 is decent, age-wise, and PG is much near my range. I do really like some fanfiction they have on there, but it seems to get a bit hard to come by. I've never heard of the people you talked about, the "e-celebs", but they're definitely not worth my time to look up. I don't blame you for avoiding drama or anything like that. I would probably do the same if it really became a "plague" of negativity to me, but so far I've been subconciously avoiding the EG n' Twilight board. Hopefully people will get their senses once S4 comes.
  18. D: Whoops, I kinda get them mixed for some reason *shrug*. I don't know, I thought Ray Bradbury wrote something with the title a year, so I guess I automatically assumed it was Ray Bradbury's... Sorry. I haven't read Antigone, but I saw a play about it at school. I might try it, but I remember it being good, a bit like Romeo and Juliet-- I didn't like Romeo nor Juliet, but the poetry was great. Yeah, I'm gonna have to give Antigone a try sometime, and Hamlet, heard they were really good.
  19. The Odyssey is great- I also like ancient Greek literature. I'm a fan of his, too; made a linoleum carving of E.A.P with a dragon; my avatar is a close-up of him. That was a really sweet gift your grandmother gave to you I've got his completed works all on my nook, but it sure doesn't beat the feel nor look of a real book. I also have H.P Lovecraft's completed works on there, too, have you read him?
  20. I've read the Time Machine, it has long descriptions and such and a bit confusing-- not a light read, either, and I haven't gotten around to finishing it yet. I'd probably have to read Ulysses, since it does parrallels the Odyssey(so I've heard). I'd have to read it, been hearing a lot of good stuff about 1984 by Ray Bradbury. I've read Fahrenheit 451 and this other short story by him about a man who gets arrested for walking at night instead of being home and watching T.V(I don't remember the name). I can understand why Bradbury disagrees with television, but you have to admit, the film industry introduced a whole new canvas for artists, actors, directors, etc. to work on. The filmmakers would want people to watch and enjoy their stuff, but not at the expense of their health when they watch T.V too much (at least, that's what I'd want if I were one)
  21. I think there's a book section, but I saw no posts and it didn't let me make a topic so, I'm posting here. It seems to me everyone is posting about music, t.v, etc. so I feel a bit out of place (maybe just me). This is meh first topic/thread, so don't leave me hanging :'( I've read some pretty great classics like Call of the Wild, Edgar Allan Poe stories, Great Expecations, The Odyssey, Animal Farm, etc. I guess in highschool, you're required to read the classics (but I still enjoyed them) and next year I'll be rquired to read Rasin in the Sun (I'm also in Pre-AP English). I hope to become an author and write great books, and I figure these Classics were so great that they passed on down to our generation. So what's better to read (and learn from) than the Classics? So, I'm just making this to talk about the Classics of literature, how they influence your writing, what would you reccommend, etc. You can talk about anything on here, about all types of writing(from poetry to screenwriting, everything), just keep the book discussion on stuff you either really love(so much so they're your favorites), and mainly stuff that are considered Classics. Try not to discuss things too "mainstream" or modern. Just some rules: - no manga/anime - Respect and no flaming - try to give feedback, ask questions, make comments, give writing advice, etc. This is gonna be sorta like a "club" thread, so if all goes well, people will reply more and always find something interesting here to talk about - to join this "club", all you have to do is participate regulary, get to know people, and have a good time To "leave", all you have to do is stop posting. - Keep the books discussed PG-14 or lower; if something is past PG(aka Parental Guidance)*, then state so. - Keep discussion PG-13 or lower(no signifigant detail il; be courteous to younger viewers - no advertising - if you wanna have your writing critque, do it at the right time. Do not critque one's writing by posting, but do it by PM - Rules subject to change * = have been changed/modified for better understanding My booklist: Harry Potter series, Nurse Matilda(book that inspired Nanny Mcphee), A Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Time Machine (H.G Wells), The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, 3 Muskateers, etc... I reccommend: The Adventures of Pinocchio--- The original 1883 Italian book, long before all the adaptations. Very good read, and my favorite fairytail, as good if not better than the 1940 movie. (free ebook) http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/500 or http://manybooks.net/titles/collodic500500.html
  22. YAY TEEN BRONYS *ahem* ponyloners ASSEMBLE Heh, just had to add that... Anywho, since every teen else is introducing themselves, I'm fixin' to be 15. I've no brony friends, and I'm quite introverted, but loud when I want to I love to draw, write, etc. I'm also a furry and a bit of a babyfur. I like different things: science, zoology, animation(learning), music(duh ), nature, hiking, amongst things. I'm quite open minded, and I want to be a director, artist/animator, writer, and a side of zoology or somethin'(yeah, kinda hard to d0...), and I'm also up for any collaboration, right now. I've got good morals and big dreams, even requested Pinocchio(1940) on the Friday Movie Request Thread (which also has the Poll for 6/14 movies, so vote for your movies) n' read the 1883 Italian book because I feel it really represents my dreams, I guess, so it's one of my fav movies of all time. I like to learn new things and such, as well as read books. I'm also big on childhood things-- I'm a nostalgia fan and plushie lover, daydreamer :3. I also support Love and Tolerance. So, if anypony wanna get chattin' or collabin' on fanfiction*, animation(er, I'm learning, so I can help with ideas/writing/storyboarding), don't hesitate to PM me
  23. Like he said, amazin' stye, great work. The facial expression on the first Luna one is great. Love them both. Wish I could color as well as you :/ but I'm very traditional, so...
  24. Just so you won't be lost, uh, the mponies are all headin' towards the Everfree cuz of risk of being chased away by Ponyville ponies. So, you could pop up in the Everfree, if you want...
  25. Spidey raced off towards the Everfree before the siren even said a thing. It was his first time in the mysterious forest, and being a werepony, he'd fit right in. The young colt nearly forgot about the group, and glanced back. He figured they could talk and such on their way there. Dr. Grayburn scraped the earth with a hoof, before taking off once more and disappearing into the bushes. He didn't really seem to care, just kept going until he was at the edge of the forest and nearby a pretty little cottage. Inside the cottage, a pretty little filly slept dreamily. She had a long, tough day of goose chases, yardwork, and other chores to do. (wanna introduce Fluttershy into the his scene while all the other monsters catch up :3 ? Er, I'd like to play her for a little. Hey, maybe one of ya'll ponies could have a romance w/her. Sorry, just randomly thought up this plot, since she does live by the Everfree and she's so good with animals.)
