  1. This is a pretty common argument against twilicorn. "It happened too soon. It should've happened in the SERIES finale!" Well, it sort of did happen in the series finale. Magical Mystery Cure was originally written as a series finale. They didn't think they would have another season. They weren't expecting any more than 65 episodes, so that's why they chose to "end" it here. But than Hasbro gave them another 26-episode season. So now we get to see what happens next. It almost sounds like you guys are saying "I don't want to see Twilight's new life as a princess. I'm not curious at all about it." Which is fine. But if that's the case, why not just keep your original 65 episodes, and stop asking for more? If you want more episodes, you have to except the fact that the show is going on longer than it was supposed to, and naturally, there are going to be changes. Even in a show as stale as Spongebob, it has not stayed the same throughout. Also think about it. Even if this wasn't originally written as a series finale, it still didn't happen until episode 65. Not episode 3. 65 is a lot of episodes, and it's very common for shows to end with 65 episodes. Most Disney shows only last for 65 episodes, and there are only a few exceptions. I would sort of understand this argument if this show went on for 10 seasons. But until than, I can't understand why anyone would yell "too soon." But now that the show has been renewed for another season, we get to see Twilight as an alicorn. I like to think of this Season, and whatever seasons we get in the future, as sequals to the original 65 episodes.
  2. Everyone seems to think that Season 4 doesn't start until early 2014. I just want to point out that it isn't confirmed. This is what is confusing everyone: http://press.discovery.com/us/hub/press-releases/2013/hub-network-unveils-2013-14-program-slate-238-2382/ Look closely at it. There are three sections to this list: New shows for 2013, New shows for early 2014, and returning shows for both years. Everyone looks at this, and only sees "2013" and "Early 2014." Look closely, not everything under "Early 2014, is early 2014. Here's everything that is under the words "Early 2014:" "Stan Lee's Mighty 7" (Hub Original Family Movie - Animated) Stan Lee executive produces and stars in this Hub Original Family Movie as an animated version of himself, a legendary superhero creator teaching a crew of alien prisoners and their jailers, who have crash-landed on Earth, how to work together and use their powers to be superheroes. The series features brand new characters voiced by an all-star cast. The Hub Original Family Movie, which is produced by A2Entertainment, Archie Comic Publications, Inc., and Stan Lee's POW Entertainment, will serve as a springboard for a potential future television series. This is the ONLY thing that's confirmed to be Early 2014. Don't believe me? Let's keep reading: Returning Hub Original Series/Specials with new episodes (in chronological order) "The Aquabats! Super Show!" (Season two premiering THIS SUMMER produced by BatMagic) "Pound Puppies" (Season three premiering THIS SUMMER produced by Hasbro Studios) "Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters" (Season two "Clash of the Duel Masters" premiering THIS SUMMER produced by Hasbro Studios) "Family Game Night" (Season four premiering THIS SUMMER produced by Hasbro Studios and Zoo Productions) "R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: The Series" (Season four premiering THIS FALL produced by Front Street Pictures in association with The Hatchery, LLC) "My Little Pony Friendship is Magic" (Season four premiering this winter produced by Hasbro Studios) (Notice how it never says "Early 2014") "Littlest Pet Shop" (Season two premiering this winter produced by Hasbro Studios) (Pay attention to this one, because it'll probably be coming out around at the same time.) "Transformers Rescue Bots" (Season two premiering this winter produced by Hasbro Studios) "Secret Millionaires Club" (22 all-new specials produced by A Squared Entertainment to run monthly on The Hub) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Pound Puppies is confirmed to return in May, which technically isn't summer. Do you know what that means? It means that there is a possibility of Season 4 coming out in November. (I'm guessing either the 24th or 30th.) Now, I know that it could still possibly come out in early 2014. What I was just trying to do here was point out that it isn't confirmed.
  3. It could possibly be coming out this Novemeber, I haven't seen any confirmations of it coming out in Q1 2014. Maybe we should start paying attention to Season 2 of Littlest Pet Shop, because that'll be coming out around the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if MLP and LPS both premeired on the same day. The reason it's a longer wait than usual is probably because they weren't originally anticipating having a fourth season.
  4. Yeah, but I'm not talking about people who are leaving the fandom. Just people who don't like the episode. I really do think that it's unfair for someone to treat them like their criticism doesn't mean anything, even though I don't agree with it.
  5. I understand what you're saying. But if someone doesn't like this episode, you shouldn't tell them that their argument is invalid just because there's more pony in the future.
  6. As someone who actually really loves this episode, even I cringe at the "it's part of a 3-parter" argument. If you're going to defend an episode, use something from the episode. I'm tired of seeing this: Guy who hates MMC: It was rushed! Guy who likes MMC: Technically it's only part 1. Meghan McCarthy said so. They are completely missing the point. Magical Mystery Cure is still a stand alone episode, even though it's part of a longer arc. It's still ONE story. It should be treated as one story. The Season 4 premiere is going to be more like a sequal. Now I understand if they are just talking about the concept of Alicorn Twilight, and they're really trying to say that you should give Season 4 a chance before declaring the show ruined. But when they use this argument for the episode itself, that's just weak. And remember, this is coming from someone who thought this was a fantastic episode. What if we were talking about a series of movies? When people said that Transformers 2 sucked, do you really think that anyone would take you seriously if you said, "Don't worry, there's going to be a third one. Your argument is invalid." I'm sorry, but just because the arc is incomplete, does not excuse the episode from criticism. That's just ridiculous.
  7. Part 1: http://mlpforums.com/blog/707/entry-4203-in-defense-of-season-3-part-1/ Part 2: http://mlpforums.com/blog/707/entry-4209-in-defense-of-season-3-part-2/ If you've read the previous 2 parts, you've noticed that I was very sarcastic. But not this time. This time I'm going to defend the things that are much harder to defend. The Death Of Twilight Sparkle The title above is not as sarcastic as it sounds. If you haven't figured out, I'm referring to Twilight being an Alicorn. People have every right to feel as concerned as they do, so I'm not going to be a sarcastic douche here. I don't like it when people defend Twilicorn by saying "She just has wings. You're just judging her by her looks." They don't realize that she is also a princess, thus changing her role in the show. I think a better defense would be to just tell people to wait for Season 4. There's not much else you could say really. Either you like Twilicorn or you don't. I personally think Twilicorn is a pretty good idea, and I like when shows move in new directions rather than sticking to the status quo. That's just personal preference. I have no reason to be sarcastic, because those who are concerned about Twilicorn have every reason to be concerned. But please, no matter which side you're on, don't give up on the show. Give Season 4 a chance. And watch more than just the 2-part premeire. I'm sure there are still going to be some good Slice-Of-Life episodes in there to enjoy. I do want to say however, that if you really don't like Twilicorn, could you at least let the people who do enjoy it, without trying to convince them that they're wrong? Pacing: I can't say that I hate the pacing of any season 3 episode, but I can understand why many do. This season has had some very ambitious ideas, and seeing them being told in only 22 minutes feels unusual. Here are my thoughts on the pacing of each episode. The Crystal Empire- Although more development from Sombra would've been nice, I don't think the lack of it was due to bad pacing. Too Many Pinkie Pies- Perfect pacing. One Bad Apple- Different, but still okay pacing. Magic Duel- Trixie "redeemed" herself. But in my opinion, Trixie never had anything that needed to be redeemed in the first place. I never saw her as evil, but just as a show mare, who was unfairly ridiculed by the mane 6. Her "redemption" was her apology for taking her new found anger too far. I can't call this episode "rushed" because Trixie's "redemption" was incredibaly believable. Sleeplesss In Ponyville- Perfect pacing. Wonderbolts Academy- The pacing was fine \ Apple Family Reunion- Nothing I can say about pacing. Spike At Your Service- This episode suffered from things MUCH worse than its pacing. Keep Calm And Flutter On- Okay, this is a tough one. I have absolutely no idea why I like the pacing of this episode, but I just do. This episode just makes so much sense to me for some reason. Contrary to popular belief, I think that Discord's Redemption is very believable, and a 2nd part wouldn't have accomplished anything. Just For Sidekicks- nothing wrong here. Games Ponies Play- This episode suffered from having a stupid plot. I never payed attention to its pacing. Magical Mystery Cure- Another tough one, but I think this one is much easier to defend than KCaFO. The reason I like the pacing of this one is because every single part of the episode has a purpose. It's not like A Canterlot Wedding, which had a completely pointless (but still awesome) fight scene that only served as filler. There is no filler, and every single shot, every song, (even morning in ponyville) and all of the dialogue had an important place in the episode. And the more I watch it, the less rushed it feels. Honestly, the only episode that I can say I don't like the pacing of in the entire series is Boast Busters. In my opinion, it would've been better as an 11 minute episode. I guess that's it for part 3. I was going to defend Magical Mystery Cure on it's own, but I think I did that well enough in the Pacing section. But for those of you who like to defend Magical Mystery Cure like I do, please for the love of Celestia stop using the "it's part of a 3-parter" argument. Not only was it orignally written as the series finale, but it's also still technically a stand-alone episode, which means that it should be treated like a stand alone episode. I'm pretty sure S4E1 is not going to be called "Magical Mystery Cure Part 2." Everything else I have to say about the episode is a little too head-canonish. There are still 2 more parts left. In part 4 I'm going to explain why I'm not stupid for liking this season, and in part 5, I'm going to give quick reviews of each individual episode.
  8. Part 2, in which I continue to defend Season 3. Here's Part 1: http://mlpforums.com/blog/707/entry-4203-in-defense-of-season-3-part-1/ Fanfiction: This episode was just like that fanfiction that I wrote that got 2 views and 1 thumbs down. Except in mine Discord married Fluttershy and turned her into the element of Cruelty... And Optimus Prime was there... And Rainbow Dash fell in love with Big Mac's evil twin... It was still just like my fanfic. Obviously, they copied my ideas, and twisted it around, and made it MUCH worse! It's not like there are a million fanfics out there, and only so many actual episodes that eventually, some could coincidentally resemble fanfiction... The people who think this, don't realize that this season DESTROYS fanfiction. Discord is "good" and therefore, it's harder to write new fanfics with him as a villain. (although if you want to make him a villain in your fanfic, there's still nothing stopping you from doing so. Canon does not equal Fanon after all). Not Enough Rarity: I'm not going to be sarcastic here because this isn't a stupid argument, but it is a little naive. What no one seems to understand, is that the show staff doesn't plan how many episodes each pony will have. They just come up with ideas, submit them to Hasbro, and if they're approved, they make the episode. There is no "So, Rarity is going to have zero episodes this season, because we need more room for Spike." In fact, originally, Rarity was going to have a much larger role in Spike At Your Service, but the writers felt that Rarity was acting too mean, so they changed it. Better having no Rarity episode than having a terrible one right? Too Much Spike!: This is more of a personal preference, but it seems like some people like to claim that Spike having a lot of screen time is an objectively bad thing when it's not... It just means you personally don't like Spike. Characters Didn't Develop: Fluttershy is still shy?! Even after Putting Your Hoof Down where she learned how to be more assertive, she's still shy?! Blasphemy!! Obviously after that one little episode, she must be a master of the art, and thus should no longer be shy! That ONE time she used assertiveness correctly obviously means that her shyness has been completely erased. They should've changed her name to Fluttersertive! Seriously, just because Fluttershy learns how to be assertive in an episode, does not mean she's going to be a master of assertiveness.... Characters Did Develop: Twilight Sparkle, taking deep breathes?! Twilight never takes deep breathes! What have they done! Where is the sarcastic Twily?! Where is the obsessive Twily?! Where is the Twily who isn't worthy of being a princess?! Do you guys want the characters to develop or not? Make up your minds. Characters Are Flanderized: Look at Pinkie Pie! She's being Random! That's Flanderization! It's not like we all knew she was going to be this random just from watching the very first episode. What is she doing in Wonderbolts Academy?! Since when did she feel paranoid about losing her friends?! She definitely wasn't paranoid about it in Party Of One! I'm sorry, but I don't see much flanderization in any of the characters. Pinkie Pie is the same as in Seasons 1 and 2. I'd understand the claim if she was acting like her clones from Too Many Pinkie Pies, but she isn't. Cliche Episode Stories: Sigh... A bullying episode? Hasn't this already been done before? Isn't there something else they can do, like maybe an episode about Scootaloo having nightmares or something? That would be much more original. This is so cliche! It's not like the show has been able to take cliche plots and twist them around or anything. I remember a simpler time, when episodes were less cliche... Just look at Friendship Is Magic Part 2. There is absolutely nothing cliche about that episode whatsoever! Seriously, Season 3 doesn't have any more cliches than the first two seasons do... King Sombra: ...I got nothing. You win this round. Games Ponies Play: This episode sucks. I'm not being sarcastic this time. This one isn't defendable. Spike At Your Service: Worst Spike episode ever. Again, not being sarcastic. But at least this one has it's moments. But none of those moments have anything to do with Spike. You neighsayers win this round as well. Wait, Flutterbass. If you're purpose is to defend Season 3, why are you saying negative things? Easy. Because I'm trying to not be biased here. What I have posted may sound like I don't like Season 1, and love Season 3, but that's not true. I love both seasons, I just wish everyone would stop treating Season 1 like it's completely flawless, and Season 3 like it has no redeemable qualities whatsoever. I just want everyone to know that I do see the flaws in Season 3, but I also see flaws in the first two seasons as well. Next is the 3rd part, in which I defend the big stuff. The stuff that is much harder to defend, but is defendable.
  9. Well the mane 6 were antagonizing a pony who was just trying to put on a show. The mane 6 were the real antagonists of Boast Busters, and they treated Trixie horribly. I think Trixie has a reason to be vengeful.
  10. I wouldn't recommend any specific episode. By telling someone "don't watch the first episode, watch (insert episode title here) instead" you're giving them a bad impression. Not only does the first episode of any series have a lot of value, but if you actually have to put thought into what episodes you want them to see, you'll make them think that only a few are even good. Instead of telling them what episodes to watch, let them watch in whatever order they want and decide for themselves. If someone were to tell me to not watch the first episode, I would have never given the show a chance. The fact that they have to think about how to impress me makes it seem less impressive.
  11. Expanding Keep Calm And Flutter On into a 2-parter would not have made Discord's redemption any more plausible. If it actually were a 2-parter, people would still call it "rushed." If 22 minutes isn't enough to believe that Discord is good, how is 44 minutes enough? If they really want to please everyone, they'd make it into a 3 hour epic. Than no one would be complaining about how "rushed" it is. They would just scream "I want old discord back!" Magical Mystery Cure is understandable, but I still believe that there is nothing wrong with it. Here's a copypasta from a post that Glaceon made in the "Crystal Empire or Magical Mystery Cure" thread, because this is brilliant: I've read a bit more into the episode than most have, and I don't think there are any plot holes at all, not with the Apples not questioning Pinkie's presence, nor the trees losing their leaves then spontaneously regaining them, nor any of that stuff. The spell Twilight cast changed the ponies' cutie marks and destinies, not just their cutie marks. It changed pretty much their entire life stories. The Apples didn't question Pinkie's presence, because only Twilight (and by extension Spike) knew that things had been changed from how they were supposed to be; everypony else was none the wiser. Including those effected, and the Apple family, the patrons of Sugarcube Corner, and all that stuff. ((This is my headcanon, but I believe that it's a fairly good explanation of what's going on.)) The Apples didn't question Pinkie's presence, because as far as they knew, Pinkie had been a worker on the Apple farm consistently, effectively replacing Applejack in that role the moment she found her cutie mark, at the Sonic Rainboom. The same could be argued for each of the rest of the Mane 6 who were affected. The lack of foliage on the trees reflects this fact, as far as Pinkie goes. If you notice, as soon as Applejack returns, coming to realize who she is truly meant to be, the leaves return, as if they had been under Applejack's care the whole time, rather than Pinkie's, since Applejack's destiny, as well as her memory and personal history, had been restored. As Twilight helps her friends come to realize who they truly are, and who they are truly meant to be, she comes to realize this herself, and Twilight's moment of full realization comes with the knowledge and power of the final parts of Starswirl's spell, which grants her the power to become something... more. The concept of power from full realization, and my knowledge of same, comes from Avatar: the Last Airbender; only a fully realized Avatar, or an Avatar that understands himself spiritually (and by extension, in personality) can harness the extreme power that is the Avatar State with complete control over same. The concept is much the same here. As Twilight (an Avatar, if you will) comes to full realization, the door to her true destiny was unlocked, granting her a higher power; alicornism, much the same as a fully realized avatar is granted control over their higher power. Does any of that make sense? It's a lot more subtle of a thing for me to explain, but the density of MMC in itself is an art. The fact that it makes you think it, I think, what makes it such a turn-off to some bronies. It's like the argument of a novel vs. a short story; in a novel, there's a bunch of meaningless banter that is out of place, while in a short story, every little action, every little detail means something; it has to, due to the short length, a short story is so much more dense than a novel in its storytelling and its intrinsic value. To me, that makes the shorter works; the denser works infinitely more enjoyable, and as such, I think the pacing and length of MMC were utter perfection. Although his defenses of the plot holes are just headcanons,
  12. 1. If you're not completely in love with Keep Calm And Flutter On, that's perfectly fine. I'm just defending an episode I like. 2. In this universe Friendship is literally magic. Of course I took the "metaphorical" title literally. It's supposed to be taken literally. 3. No matter how pressured Fluttershy felt in Best Night Ever, her behavior was still not believable. 4. The Nostalgia Goggles argument was out of frustration that everyone points to Season 3's flaws, and never point to Season 1's flaws and call it "superior." 5. I was never trying to use logic. I was trying to use my opinions, just like you used yours.
  13. "an all-new theme." probably refers to the fact that Season 4 is going to be completely different from the rest of the series due to Twilight being a princess now, or could also be referring to the new theme song. Doesn't have anything to do With Equestria Girls. "We will unveil an entirely new intellectual property based on the brand." This just means that Equestria Girls is a new IP. That's it. There's nothing here that implies that it will effect MLP.
  14. I originally was going to make a series of threads, and I did make one, but one of the mods requested that I turn it into a blog post instead, so that's what I'm going to do. In this blog post, I'm going to defend Season 3 like it's my baby. Because I just love it so much. First, here's a copy and paste from one of my threads. Lack Of Friendship Letters: Friendship Letters. Because without them we would be completely lost. Sure, any episode could have a good moral. But without Friendship Letters, how could we ever comprehend those morals? Think of Feeling Pinkie Keen. Without the Friendship Letter, we would believe that the episode was about Religious Tolerance, but thanks to the Letter, we realize that the moral is about how you should throw the scientific method out the window if you're feeling frustrated. See, because of the friendship letter, we see clearly. Isn't it wonderful? First of all, the friendship letters aren't THAT important. Sure, they spell out the moral for the kids who may have a hard time understanding them otherwise, but they aren't 100% necessary. They could completely get rid of friendship letters and I would be okay with it. Here's why: 1. Sometimes, the moral is told without a friendship letter, so having a friendship letter in those cases would just be redundant. Look at Sleepless In Ponyville for example. The moral is told by the story. Everyone knows what it was, and we didn't need a Friendship Letter. 2. Sometimes, the Friendship Letter ruins the episode. Like Feeling Pinkie Keen for example. If that episode didn't have a moral, it would be absolutely perfect in my eyes. Another example would be A Dog And Pony Show. Because of that episode's friendship letter, it sounds like they're telling little girls that you'll get your way if you whine enough. I have nothing against the Friendship Letters. I just think kids are smarter than we give them credit for, and that this show shouldn't have to depend on Friendship Letters to get the moral across, and sometimes, the Friendship Letters can even ruin the morals. So if they decide to completely throw away Friendship Letters in season 4, I'll be perfectly fine with that. "Pandering": Pandering. Because who would want to see an episode about Twilight Sparkle? I mean really, why would they make episodes about Twilight Sparkle, if they know we like her? Shouldn't they be making episodes about Twist? No one likes her. Therefore, they should make episodes about her, so it doesn't look like they're trying to make us happy. Oh, and Trixie? PANDERING! You know why? Because we are the only ones who like Trixie, and the show staff doesn't care about her at all. Discord? PANDERING! Because we all wanted to see him reform. I think that sarcasm is enough to explain to you why the "pandering" argument is nonsense. Not Pandering: How dare they not do everything the fandom wants! Turn Twilight into an alicorn?! Just to sell some stupid toys? It's not like this show is meant to sell toys to little girls or anything... Obviously, it's based on a famous Web Comic... Really! How come Gilda wasn't in Season 3? That's what the fandom wanted. But apparently the writers don't care about the fandom. All they care about is writing stories that THEY want to write. What about us? Why don't they ever put us into consideration? I do realize that sarcasm doesn't translate as well online as it does in real life, but the paragraph above is sarcastic if you didn't know. Seriously, first bronies complain about getting what they want, and then they complain again when they don't get what they want?! Trixie And Discord: Redemption Redemption. Because what happened at the end of Magic Duel was TOTALLY a redemption. It's not like Trixie wasn't just apologizing for being eviler than usual or anything. It's not like she was the only likeable character in Boast Busters or anything. It's not like she was actually not that evil in the first place or anything... Seriously though, Trixie was never evil in Boast Busters. She was supposed to be, but due to bad writing, she was the only character I felt sympathetic for in that episode. Magic Duel, made up for it however, by being MUCH better than Boast Busters. Trixie wasn't really that evil in Boast Busters. She was just putting on a show, and the mane 6 were just being rude, and antagonized a pony who didn't deserve it. In Magic Duel, she gets her revenge, and takes it WAY too far, and apologizes at the end, when she realizes that she has done wrong. (though I wish the mane 6 would've apologize for their behavior in Boast Busters...) Discord. Because he's totally not based on Q or anything... That sarcasm is towards the people who are against Discord turning good. I do understand that some people just felt like Keep Calm And Flutter On was rushed, and that's okay. But I have to say I completely disagree. You have to remember, that in Equestria, Friendship is LITERALLY magic. That means that Fluttershy's friendship had a magical affect on Discord. If this were the real world, where friendship is only figuratively magic, than it wouldn't make much sense for Discord to have a sudden change of heart. But this is Equestria, where friendship is LITERALLY magic. No, Fluttershy didn't brainwash or trick Discord. The truth is that in Equestria, Friendship really is magic, which is why this episode works. If it were a Spongebob episode, maybe not. Nostalgia Goggles: Today's cartoons suck! I miss the 90's! It's not like Adventure Time is just as good as Ed, Edd n' Eddy or anything. The only good modern cartoon is My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, because the internet told me so. Season 3 sucks! I miss the first season! Where the morals were simple yet misleading. I miss episodes like the best night ever, where Fluttershy went completely out of character for the sake of the plot and humor. Now we have stupid episodes like Spike At Your Service and Just For Sidekicks where Spike was completely out of character for the sake of the plot and humor. He was acting TOTALLY different in Owl's Well That End's Well, and The Secret Of My Excess. Why is he acting greedy and self-centered in Just For Sidekicks? It's not like he's been greedy or self-centered before. I'm not going to be this sarcastic towards the end of the post, because some of the complaints are too valid to be sarcastic about, but I really do think a lot of bronies have nostalgia goggles. Not all of them, but a lot. Lack Of Lauren Faust: Lauren Faust. The only person who is responsible for making the show good. The writers have contributed absolutely nothing to the story, Pssh... who needs animators? Lauren Faust is the ONLY one responsible for making this show the way it is. Therefore, the show sucks now. Because she's gone. If you haven't already guessed, the above paragraph is very sarcastic. I really hate it when people think she's the only person who has contributed to the show's quality. It's such a disrespectful slap in the face to the rest of the show staff. Well, that's it for today. Tune in for Part 2, where I defend Season 3 even more!
  15. My first anime ever was Kiki's Delivery Service. My first series was either Pokemon or Sailor Moon, I don't remember which though.
  16. This is the first installment of "In Defense Of Season 3." Because I love this season too much to not defend it. This will be a series of threads, and hopefully won't piss anyone off. This in my opinion, is the weakest argument of all the neighsayers of season 3, so I'll talk about it first. Friendship Letters.
  17. Well, I think it would be quite boring if the Elements of Harmony showed up in every single opener... And I know that you don't like Spike, but he is a main character, and thus he deserves to have a moment to shine.
  18. I agree. MMC was better than TCE. But do the Elements Of Harmony really need to show up every episode? Besides, the Crystal Heart isn't all that different from The Elements of Harmony...
  19. That was just a joke... She was asked if there would be anymore alicorns, and she came up with a random, big number. There probably isn't going to be a single new alicorn introduced in Season 4. (though I could be wrong.) But there definitely will not be 53...
  20. It may have felt rushed on the first viewing, but there were no "plot holes." It's not like this was foreshadowed in friendship is magic part 2 and The Crystal Empire part 2 or anything.... Unfortunately we didn't get to learn much about this new race, and none of them had a canon name which was disappointing . Well, technically it was the arctic north OF EQUESTRIA, but whatever... I honestly don't know which I like more. I don't see too much wrong with either of them. I guess I'll have to go with Magical Mystery Cure, just because I wanted to get to know at least ONE of the crystal ponies, and that never happened. I was hoping we'd get to know a crystal pony in Games Ponies Play, but that never happened either.
  21. Two. Boast Busters and Games Ponies Play. Boast Busters has the same flaws as The Mysterious Mare Do Well, but turned up to eleven, and Games Ponies Play is the least engaging episode I've ever seen. I love everything else though.
  22. Well some people may argue that Twilight's character changed even before she became an alicorn. She developed, without getting wings, and some people are mad about that. Maybe they connect to her just like you do. And also, if you somehow grew wings one day, would you still be against alicorn twilight? I don't think Twilight's wings changed her character, it was just the character development. I do see where you're coming from though. I hate how people insist that Fluttershy should lose her shyness because I relate to her because of it. People criticize her character for regressing, but the truth is, that's the most realistic way to portray that kind of personality. People like me and ponies like Fluttershy usually regress back to our socially anxious selves. I would be very disappointed if the writers just threw Fluttershy's shyness out the window.
  23. To be honest, it really isn't a big deal. The only reason I came up with this theory is that people were pointing to this part of the episode and calling it a flaw and a "plot hole." I decided to come up with a good explanation so that not only I would feel better about it, but other people would to. Maybe if I come up with a theory for why the apples didn't notice that Pinkie Pie was working at Sweet Apple Acres, I'll talk about that too.
  24. Well, it proves that you're open minded enough to watch a cartoon meant to sell toys for little girls. BUT THAT'S IT! Being a brony doesn't make you better than everyone else. It's okay to feel proud of yourself, but saying that being a brony makes you a better person is ridiculous!
  25. Everyone thinks that this was a plot hole. They say things like "Isn't Rainbow's talent flying? Why is Rarity managing the weather? Shouldn't she be trying to fly?" Well here's my theory: Rarity wasn't trying to fly because she doesn't have wings. Just kidding! Here's my real theory: Rainbow Dash has 2 talents, and her cutie mark represents both of them. The cloud represents her weather abilities, and the rainbow colored lightning bolt represents her flying abilities. "But Rainbow Dash got her cutie mark after doing a sonic rainboom, while she was FLYING!" Yes, she did get her cutie mark after performing a sonic rainboom. But think about it. It wasn't just a trick. It affected the lives of 5 other ponies. If it could do that, who's to say it didn't have an affect on the weather? It was definitely powerful enough to curl pinkie's hair, so how could you say that it has no affect on the weather? So Rainbow performed two talents at once, thus received a cutie mark that represents both of her talents. "Since when could ponies have more than one talent?" Since 5000 B.C (Before Celestia) But in all seriousness, there is nothing in the show that implies that ponies can have only one talent. "But if Rainbow has two talents, why is Rarity only attempting to do one of them?" Because she doesn't have wings? "Than why not give Rainbow's cutie mark to Fluttershy?" That's a good question. Maybe Fluttershy could have Rainbow's cutie mark, and attempt to fly like Rainbow Dash. But maybe the writers didn't want to kill off Fluttershy...? That's all I've got. I knew someone would inevitably ask that question if I didn't answer it so I had to get it out of the way somehow. So what do you think of this theory?
