I feel like something was missing =( the end was really rushed.

I really like this theory. If hatching a Dragon egg was the standard test to get into magic school, there would be more dragons around Equestria- it seems like Celestia should have one to do the same tasks Spike does. Spike has something to do with Twilight's destiny, that much is sure. I hope his backstory gets explored more, personally, because I'm sure that it intertwine's with Twilight's somehow.

The episode wasn't centered around Rarity, so it makes sense that her character is going to come off as a one-dimensional Diva. Having Sweetie pull the carriage was meant as more of a gag- it is a cartoon aimed at little girls. We know from other episodes that she isn't like this- she actually embodies her element perfectly, but that's for another post. I think when we get a Rarity-centered episode we'll see her more in-depth character traits.

I agree with this post. There really isn't anything wrong with Pinkie this season- this seems more like a thread made to pick apart what people don't like about certain things that happened with Pinkie in season 3. Pinkie has had a lot of character development over the series, but at her core she is a happy, fun-loving pony. She is going to make bad puns and jokes that not everybody likes, because that is what we have come to expect from her. In episodes where she is not the center, she is going to have one-liners and gags that are used just for comedic effect. When she is the center, you see other sides of her, for instance Party of One. It's the same as any other pony- Sleepless in Ponyville was centered around RD and Scoot, but Rarity had Sweetie Belle pulling the carriage for some laughs. It showed Rartiy's diva side and made her one-dimensional, but we know from episodes centered around Rarity that that isn't the case and isn't her character. Same with pinkie. Just because of a bad lettuce joke, it doesn't mean they are ruining her character.

I'm with everyone else who is calling this bulls***, there has never been a legit leak from a dev team anywhere on a social site. (at least as far as I know). Derpy's a fan favorite and sells a lot of merchandise. They aren't going to get rid of her anytime soon, she pulls in a lot of money- and it was an accident, at that! Alicorn Twilight is probably going to happen. When is anyone's guess, but everything is pointing to Twilight being some sort of new-age leader. Her character has developed so much from season one, and for her to be under Celestia's wing of all ponies is a strong indicator that she is being groomed for something. Besides, it will be a good thing to show where alicorns come from- I'm wondering myself.

I actually really liked Spitfire in this episode. She seems like more of a leader. If she was all buddy-buddy with RD it would have seemed like it should have caused a conflict between Rainbow and the others for "favoritism". The focus was on the RD/LD conflict. We've always seen Spitfire in a non-leader setting (the gala, hurricane fluttershy) and this episode gave us the opportunity to see the leader side of her, and show exactly why she trains the best flyers in Equestria.
