  1. I'd be sitting in my favorite chair, glass of my good friend in hand while remembering what made life unforgettable. Eeyup.
  2. Well, lets see... Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind Legend of Drizz't by R.A. Salvatore (or, really, just about anything by this author) Gaunt's Ghosts by Dan Abnett The Horus Heresy by multiple authoirs (starts with Horus Rising by Dan Abnett) Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman Dragonlance Legends by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman The Black Magician Trilogy by Trudi Canavan The Sword of Shannara Triology by Terry Brooks Discworld by Terry Pratchett
  3. I've gone for sensation, fantasy, narrative, and abnegation. It seems most games I play fit into these: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (fantasy and narrative) The 3rd Birthday (fantasy and narrative) Silent Hill (sensation and narrative) Hot Shots Golf 4 (abnegation) Just to give an idea of the games I've been playing lately and hoe they fall in the categories I'd chosen.
  4. You know what they say about great minds... Like you say, I imagine that Saddle Arabia doesn't have the same critters, so such a precise display with unfamiliar creatures would be more impacting in a demonstration.
  5. Yeah, this. Also, while levitating the ursa was awesome, it was still just one thing going in one direction. I imagine this was less about power and more about finer levels of control. When she does levitate things, it's rarely (if ever) more than one item, and never in multiple directions at the same time. Precision can be just as impressive as power.
  6. Yup, I'm certainly all for the empowerment this series provides. Especially as I shudder to think what kind of ruler Blueblood would be.
  7. True, and a good observation, though he isn't considered a ruler, either. I don't think any male pony is, it's a very matriarchal society.
  8. I can see, what with Shining Armor being married to Cadence, that Twilight would technically be some form of royalty. I have a few concerns about her ever ascending to rule, in either the Empire or Canterlot, though: -Firstly, how do we even know she's even being groomed for some sort of ruling position? I know nothing overt has been shown/said to this effect, and I can see why it's a popular theory, but I just don't see it being viable. All things considered, including the events of Boast Busters and Magic Duel, I have an easier time seeing her following in the hoofprints of Star Swirl the Bearded and revolutionizing/expanding the boundaries of magic. - Secondly, I have yet to see any ruling pony that isn't an alicorn. There have been those thinking that, after being deemed worthy or having progressed far enough in her studies, she would be made into one. I can see why this, too, is a popular theory, but if there was a process to create alicorns, and it isn't a product of genetics at birth, why are there so few of them? - Thirdly, lines of succession. Assuming my previous two points aren't an issue, alicorns are presumably immortal, so for her to take the reins (as it were) in either court something would have to happen to Celestia, Luna, and Cadence. And that's assuming Cadence (or any of them, really, though Cadence is the only one in a position to do this) doesn't give birth to an heir. Now, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the idea of a Princess Twilight Sparkle, but through my thoughts and observations I just don't see it being in the cards. If you know something I don't, or see that I've missed something, please let me know as I find this to be an interesting topic. Sorry for my little rant
  9. I just listen to music and dive into a hobby. I leave that generalized because I have a tendency to shift focuses with my hobbies from time to time. To give an example, if I'm feeling angry/upset/otherwise unsettled, I'll find something soothing to listen to (Ponyphonic's "Lullaby For A Princess" being my current favorite) and sort my comic collection, or read a book, or play a game. Something not too thought intensive that lets me set some sort of mental order.
  10. No change for me either. It's been Applejack at #1 for me. After that it's been Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Rarity, and Pinkie. The last four can shift every now and then, but Applejack and Fluttershy have pretty solidly secured their places now.
  11. Considering how she reacted when she was almost 'tardy' in Lesson Zero, or how she went all OCD (or CDO, that way they're in alphabetical order. AS THEY SHOULD BE! ) when getting ready for her test in the beginning of season 3... No, I just don't think she's at a point where she can handle it.
  12. All in a day's work with my blessedly cursed life Seriously, though, I just can't see them not getting their marks at the same time. Unless it's turned into another 'patience is a virtue, don't let it stop your friendship' lesson. Which would make me sad in my heart.
  13. This pretty much covers what I was thinking. If she was gonna have a zap apple cutie mark, then I figure this episode is where she woulda gotten it. Besides, breaking up the CMC? What is this craziness of which you speak? No, I wouldn't be surprised if, while somewhat individual, their cutie marks had some sort of relation to each other's. Would make a heck of a season opener/closer.
  14. I do like it, though the newer stuff is just (to me) starting to get pretty boring. The occasional new show or remake of an older one is what catches my attention. For example, I just picked up parts 5-8 of Hellsing Ultimate, and they had a movie come out last year called Redline that was all sorts of awesome. Other than that, I tend to stick with older shows like Fist of the North Star, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and the like.
  15. I guess I can kinda see where you're going with this, but I'd find it more interesting that Princess Cadence's cutie mark and the crystal heart are the same design. Combined with the fact she's referred to as 'the Crystal Princess' by one of the locals, makes me wonder where Cadence came from originally. This is even more true when you look at the snowflake on the flag of the Crystal Empire and how similar the layout is to the layout of the streets. What's been pointed out to me is the cover of said book has Stars and a swirl, which leans more towards Star Swirl the Bearded in my mind. Considering Twilight's obsession with, and talent in, magic I figure it more likely she'll be headed in the area of revolutionizing magic. Just my thoughts on what I've witnessed so far.
  16. Never did like the Baby Cakes episode, though I've seen it a few times and I find I'm a bit more tolerant of it now. It just never really caught my interest much.
  17. Hiya, Obsidian! Yeah, like you say it's dependent on what you're considering. I can see going for Sombra as I consider what he did in the past, and am even turning my vote over to him as I was just mainly focused on his results in the episode itself. I would, though, still say Chrysalis is a close second since she was able to (for the most part) pull her scheme off right under everyone's nose.
  18. Gotta say, well thought out argument for each of the villains. I can see why Sombra would come out on top with what you say, though I was looking primarily at their actions upon showing up in the series as opposed to what they did beforehand.
  19. It's true, though I was referring to that when I put the ' went into Celestia's house (taking her out in the process)' part of my post.
  20. Queen Chrysalis. I'll grant that Discord actually accomplishes more against the ponies, but to be honest he's just too amusing to be all that intimidating. Sombra, in the past, may have been the most intimidating. The problem with him, though, is in his actual debut as an active character all he did was growl, glare, and fail. Chrysalis, however, actually went into Celestia's house (taking her out in the process) and almost took over with a zerg rush. a better set of guards in her prison cave, and she probably would have pulled it off. In terms of bullies...Gilda. Babs came around in the end, and while Diamond Tiara's peer pressure/blackmail in Ponyville Confidential was pretty bad, Gilda's actions just seemed more malicious overall to me.
  21. Silent Hill: Revelation. Went and saw it in theaters, and it wasn't very good. I'd played Silent Hill 3, so I got some references that you wouldn't get otherwise, but overall just a blah movie.
  22. Looking at them all, I wouldn't mind more Fluttershy or Applejack. We may be seeing more about AJ, though, with episode 9 of this season, Apple Family Reunion. I'm also down for anything that expands on Spike's character. My bad, guess I need to read a little more thoroughly before answering. I wouldn't mind seeing more Applejack/Fluttershy interaction, or more Spike in general. Or Rarity/Fluttershy? Can't really think of much interaction between them, though with my memory that doesn't really mean much. The way some of the season has gone, I wouldn't be surprised (but I would be happy) to see some Luna/Twilight Sparkle interaction.
  23. I vote no, just because...well, if I wanted a show like the Simpsons or Family Guy, I'd watch Simpsons or Family Guy. There are so many different shows of that type (Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, Bob's Burgers, etc.) that I think it'd just ruin the show. Not to say I'd stop immediately. I'd be willing to give it a chance, but...I wouldn't hold my breath.
  24. I'm holding with the thought that the book has something to do with Star Swirl the Bearded (stars and a swirl on the cover?), though whether it leads to the character appearing or her taking his work and moving it a step further? Can't say, though either option would be exciting. There's also something to the thought that it could be something to do with Luna. Maybe the 'next level' of her studies is learning from Luna? A friend if mine believes we'll see more of what may have lead Luna to becoming Nightmare Moon as the season progresses, which I would be ok with.
  25. Thanks! I've seen the episode, but appreciate it anyway. Haven't gotten to marathoning them yet, but there's always this upcoming weekend.
