Born and raised in Griffonstone, Aria was often the odd one out in her group. Others didn't call her a "true griffon". But she didn't care, this didn't stop her from trying to do her best to succeed in this cruel world. Or, at least, she thought it was all cruel. The day those two ponies came, and helped out who was considered one of the meanest griffons, her view on the world changed. She didn't know what overcame her, but once she came to the age of maturity, she fled Griffonstone to make something of herself. She went out on a soul searching journey, where she met many kind ponies, and other creatures alike.
Eventually, her journey lead her to the mountains, near the village of Yak Yakistan. She hadn't noticed at first, but through the howling winds and the blowing snow from the cliffs, she heard a pony cry out for help. A unicorn, hanging on for dear life. He was adorned in mountain climbing gear, and accidentally took a wrong step, causing the platform below him to come to a crumble. As fast as she could, Aria came in and helped the poor stallion to safety.
"Are you okay, sir? You need to be careful. One wrong step, and your very life is at stake. You're lucky I was here to save you." She told him, her voice stern, yet still filled with worry from what almost happened.
"Thank you, thank you SO much!! There's not enough I can do to repay you for what you've done! Here, take this, I insist, it's the least I can do for your troubles!" The unicorn took out 10 bits with his magic, handing them all over to Aria.
She was shocked, she didn't expect to be paid bits from saving this stallion's life! At first she wanted to give them back, but she could tell he was that kinda guy who would go above and beyond to pay someone back for doing something so drastic. She thanked him for the bits, and proceeded to guide him all the way up the rest of the mountain to Yak Yakistan. Parting ways with a couple last thank yous from the unicorn, Aria waved goodbye and headed back down the mountain-side.
What she did that day felt... Amazing, and not just because she got paid bits for doing it. Saving that unicorn's life filled her heart with so much joy. It nearly overwhelmed her to the point where she was gonna scream. From there, it was decided. She's going to stay here on this mountain-side, and call it her home. She'd find a cave that very same day, where she'd sleep, eat, stay warm, and stay sheltered from the conditions of the harsh landscape. She wouldn't be lonely a lot, as she could just visit the yaks, or fly back to Griffonstone if she was that desperate for interaction. But another good chunk of her interactions would be through her side hustle of guiding ponies and other creatures alike up the mountain. All for the low price of just 10 bits!
From there on out, Aria would live the rest of her days as a slight recluse. She'd get her food from hunting other animals, of which their pelts would become soft layers in her cave to sleep and rest on. The bits she'd gain would buy her other things, such as pillows, good wood for fire, and a nice little pastry as a treat every now and then. This, this is what Aria wanted. She was doing her part, and she found solitude in the last place any pony would think.
Before you get to meet her, from the outside she seems like another typical cold hearted griffon. Often aloof to random people, she rarely opens up to others. She's had trust issues since childhood, and it takes a long time for her to open up to someone. But once you get to know her, it's like she's been a friend since childhood. Always having your back, but would still step up to the plate and call YOU out if you end up doing something wrong. She wants the very best for those she trusts, but she's not afraid to tell them the harsh truth as well, even if it breaks their heart. However, unlike gaining her trust, losing her trust is a very different story. It may be hard to gain it, but it's very easy to break her trust too. Although easy to break her trust, it's hard to know how exactly that happens. And she doesn't tell that to anyone, even those she trusts the most. If that does somehow happen, she doesn't get angry or anything. She tells them that their friendship is over, takes the high road, and leaves them forever. She wouldn't ignore them if they were to meet her again, but she wouldn't be buddy-buddy with them anymore.
A hybrid between a snow leopard and raven. Her body, tail, and back legs represent the snow leopard parts. Her front legs, head, and wings that of the raven. Her mane, a beautiful greyish white, that transitions into a vibrant sky-blue all the way to her chest fluff.
Her best potential came out when she saved the unicorn from falling to his doom! If she were an earth pony/unicorn/pegasus, her cutie mark would definitely be something resembling a mountain, along with a symbol that has to do with helping others. Perhaps, a heart with a repeat symbol surrounding it, with a mountain in the back of it?
