Personality: An upbeat and eccentric character, Amber has become rebellious and carefree after moving away from her parents. Amber tends to blame many of these issues on her parents treatment of her and how they robbed her of a proper childhood. She can be charismatic one moment and very emotional the next, lacking the maturity to cope with her own problems.

Backstory: Amber was born in Coltschurch, a small town to the south of Equestria. She lived her mother and father and also two older brothers, but they moved out when she was only just starting school. Her father insisted that she study engineering so that she could carry on her family’s small business. With her brothers were off in Trottingham and Canterlot pursuing their own careers, Amber was raised to meet her parents ends. She wasn’t particularly passionate about it, but grew to enjoy to technicalities of engineering.<br /><br />Overtime the effects of her parent’s pressure began to show. Amber was struggling in her other subjects at school and found it difficult to make any friends. When she did have some time to herself she spent it taking apart machines and putting them back together. Her father had encouraged this, he said it builds up skill. But as a result Amber never really felt like she had a childhood.<br /><br />When she turned twelve her parents were disappointed to see that Amber still hadn’t received her cutie mark. No matter how much she tried to convince herself that this was her calling something held her back. Over time she had developed a small interest in music after rebuilding a small stereo. Any free time not spent tinkering or rebuilding things was spent just listening to albums she snuck out of her mother’s dresser. One day her brother came to visit, brining news about his new job in Canterlot as a teacher aid. After staying for a week her offered to take Amber for a trip to Canterlot for a couple of days, just so she could see everything it had to offer. While Amber ecstatic and the opportunity their parents took some convincing.<br /><br />What was harder to explain was when Amber returned home with a new cutie mark. Many parents would be thrilled at their daughters coming of age, but there was a slight amount of disappointment. While in Canterlot she and her brother went to go see a performance, a live DJ in the gardens. One thing led to another and Amber soon found herself backstage talking to the DJ in person. Amber’s cutie mark was an audio icon, the symbol that represented her new found love of music, but also the technical aspects.<br /><br />Home life became far more difficult from that point. With her new found talent Amber became more reluctant to continue her father’s training, becoming rebellious and argumentative. Her relationship with her parent deteriorated to the point where they barely talked anymore. Amber began to embrace a new crowd, sneaking out of her room to go partying and clubbing. She died blue streaks in her mane, got piercings, and even earned herself a small criminal record. Her parents had simply given up.<br /><br />After dropping out of High School Amber moved on to pursue her career of becoming a professional DJ. When she moved to Manehattan she took gigs where she could, no matter how small. She found a job with a local appliance store as a repairpony, earning enough to keep her afloat. After a couple of years she managed to secure a fulltime job as the DJ for a club in west Manehattan. The pay was decent, decent enough that she could afford to rent her own flat. After screwing around for so long Amber was confident she was getting her life back on track.
