Appearance: Amber is a yellow colored Appaloosa with a brown mane and tail as well as brown spots across her flank. She almost always wears a wrist watch and a leather vest to keep away the chill of high altitudes.

Cutie Mark: A ship's helm because of her excellent piloting skills and love of adventure. She got it from safely landing a loose hot air balloon on her sixth birthday.

Personality: Amber has very tomboyish and gamine attitude, she often considers herself "one of the guys" because she relates better to stallions (and prefers mares over males when it comes down to romantic endeavors). Amber is very hard working and level headed when faced with a problem, although she can become quite a spitfire if she is insulted in some way. She is notorious for holding grudges.

Backstory: Amber grew up in a small country town well away from any of the large industrial cities of Equestria. She was the only daughter living alongside 5 older brothers, all being raised by a single, overworked father. Because her dad was so busy holding down multiple low-paying jobs just to keep his family alive, she spent most of her young childhood helping around the house and roughhousing with her brothers.<br /><br />On her 6th birthday, Amber's oldest brother took her to a fair in another town to celebrate. While there she accidentally let loose a hot are balloon with her inside. Because there were no pegasus' present all the bystanders thought that she was a goner. What they didn't expect was for little six-year-old Amber to fly the hot air balloon safely to the ground as if she had been doing it for years. When she hopped out of the balloon she had a cutie mark for her natural ability to pilot airships.<br /><br />As soon as she was old enough to leave the nest, Amber waved goodbye to her dear brothers and tired father, all of which were homebodies that didn't like the idea of leaving their house and family. Amber was more adventurous however and bought a small steam-powered airship with all her savings money (plus maybe just a little she had swiped from here or there). She got together a small crew and started a small business trafficking cargo between the bigger cities (and also taking questionable side-jobs from the highest bidders). She still works there to this day, although she hopes that one day she will breakaway from her everyday life and go adventuring beyond the farthest reaches of Equestria.
