Archie
By Magicon
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Species: Earth Pony
Cutie Mark: Orange solar rays symbolizing his enthusiastic spirit and his practically never-ending energy to do tasks and complete them as well as his generally fun-loving personality.
Personality: An enthusiastic and excitable earth pony, what Archie lacks in strength and wit is compensated by his abundant energy. When focused and directed Archie is able to multi-task effectively and efficiently with the upmost spirit and skill. However, when misdirected Archie’s energy can be potentially dangerous to ponies around him, as it usually takes on the form of words that may cause harm to someponies. He often lacks the ability to stop talking for the sake of not offending somepony, which has put in him in a bind on more than one occasion. Yet he often when mistakes are made he will go to great lengths to reconcile them and apologize the ponies he’s offended. Archie’s philosophy is simple: make no enemies. While he may not get along with everypony, he respects them and will avoid making conflict or enemies out of them.

His favorite things to do are play sports, particularly tennis; play games, (cards or board games especially), listen to music, dance, and have a good time. He always tries to make the best of whatever situation he’s in by looking on the bright side of life.
Backstory: Archie was born in a middle-class household just outside of Manehattan to an account at father and a bookkeeper mother. Despite both parents working, Archie’s mother often worked from home so she was able to raise him and nurse him without sacrificing her job. Archie’s father was also loving and compassionate, with a youthful spirit that Archie was born with. As a colt Archie was active in sports and playing outside with friends. He got along well with everypony, avoiding fights, and always tried to live a happy life. As a student he exceled in science and history while performing adequately in math and English, and barely passing music and art. He loved Physical Education and took it as much as he could. It was in middle school where he learned tennis and fell in love with the sport, playing it ever since.

Archie’s fun-loving and enthusiastic personality made him many friends, some he has still kept close relationships with. He was third in his class to earn his cutie mark, but he never gloated about it. One day during Physical Education the teacher instructed the students to learn dancing, instead of playing a sport or game. At first Archie was hesitant, as was mostly every student was at that age, but overcame his hesitation when the music started playing. For some unknown reason he couldn’t resist the beat and moving his body with the music. Before he knew it he was fully absorbed in the music and learning the dance moves faster than any student. He loved it and when the class was over he saw that he had earned his cutie mark. Though Archie is not the best dancer and has learned to control himself when dance music plays his abundant energy never ceases squirming, itching Archie to get up and move with the music. When others teased him about his dancing he simply brushed it off on the outside, telling them “I do what I like and if you don’t well then, tough luck for you”. Though on the inside they did sting a little, they wore away as he got older.

Archie coasted through high school and entered Manehattanville University intending to major in business. But right from the outset he began having second thoughts about the major. Archie felt that business didn’t suit him. It seemed to stifling, too rigid, and dry. It lacked the true fun-loving energy that he was. So he began experimenting and trying out other options. One was looking into museums.

It was an odd turn for the active young colt, but he took it anyway, somewhat convinced that it was nothing more than a passing phase. Yet the more he explored the more he learned and the more he wanted to know. He found that his energy could be extremely useful in turning old and weary museums into active and attractive places, filled with creative exhibits and thousands of ponies wanting to see them. Using the existing internship system at the University Archie successfully landed an internship at the Manehattan Museum of Magical Arts and Artifacts, the same museum that Magicon was working. Though fresh out of university, Magicon was already poised to assume directorship thanks to his close relationship with the current head curator at the time, Master Piece.

Archie was amazed by the museum and fell in love with the place. Master Piece, believing the two would work well together, assigned Archie to intern with Magicon; much to the latter’s annoyance. Archie wanted to learn and do everything and anything while Magicon just wanted him to focus on small tasks just to get his bearings. While Magicon considered Archie an annoying intern who couldn’t focus, he still worked with him. As for Archie he considered Magicon a great teacher, despite his cold appearance. He knew there was warmth in the stallion; he just needed to coax it out.

Over time the two actually became rather close friends. Magicon became head curator the next year at age 23 while Archie continued interning and schooling, changing his major to museum studies. When he graduated three years later Magicon immediately hired him as assistant curator, a post he currently holds and loves it. He plans to be promoted to head curator and start designing some wonderful and exciting new exhibits for the museum.
