• Atlas

    Gabriel Smith

    • Age: 21

      Gender: Male

      Species: Earth Pony

Cutie Mark: It's a Pony silhouette holding a large orb over it's head. It's tied into his enormous size.

Personality: Atlas usually shy's away from contact with Ponies...not that many stick around for a conversation with him to begin with. This is usually weighed out with him being an extremely compassionate character, which is as much of a strength as it is a flaw.

In addition, Atlas flat out refuses to handle another Pony in most circumstances, paranoid that he might accidentally hurt them.

Backstory: Atlas was a Pony in a rather unfortunate series of circumstances. Even before he acquired his Cutie Mark, Atlas also had the humiliation of being the smallest pony in his school. As you'd imagine, Atlas was constantly teased and bullied for his size, and had few friends.

Then one day, Atlas got bigger - a full couple of inches actually. At that point, nopony saw it as anything out of the ordinary. In the space of a month however, Atlas was the size of his teacher, and within two he was twice that.

Naturally, people started to panic. Atlas began to feel gradually more alienated as time passed. It was the townspeople however, who hit upon the solution.

Atlas was set to work, plowing the fields and attending to other menial, repetitive tasks. Atlas was scolded when he refused to do work, or tried to take time off.

Eventually, Atlas decided he had enough. One day, Atlas finally snapped. Now the size of a small house, Atlas used his size to destroy the village. By the time the local militia arrived, the town was in pieces, many of the Villagers had been hurt and the giant was nowhere to be seen.

Atlas had however ran and ran when his senses returned. He'd ran into the deepest, darkest recesses of the Everfree Forest. Ashamed at his actions, Atlas chose to dwell within the forest and refused to come out, competing daily with the other monsters that lived there for rest and resources by day, and by night with his own twisted nightmares. Atlas learned basic survival skills, even learning some forms of fieldcraft, and used his innate abilities as an Earth Pony to cultivate and maintain a "garden" of sorts, which served to keep him from going crazy.

Yet, Atlas himself deep down longs for being accepted by someone. To that end, Atlas sometimes tries to find his way out of the Everfree, in the hope that he might find others like him.
