Appearance: Bardic stands taller than the average pony and is less bulky - having the blood of the horses of Saddle Arabia in his family.<br /><br />He has a deep orange coat and a dusky red mane and tail. They grow in such a way as to appear perpetually windswept after growing up in a land set by desert winds.<br /><br />In his homeland, Bardic wears light, cotton robes. These shade him from the heat during the day, and help keep him warm at night. When in Equestria however, he wears one of the simpler, cultural garbs of the Saddle Arabian ambassadors - bands of metal studded with a number of large Sapphires. While he has no ties with the rulers of his homeland, he has found that by appearing in such a way he is able to influence certain individuals more easily.<br /><br />Finally, Bardic also owns a set of armor. While this is mostly for decorative purposes and research value, it is still perfectly functional. This is his least often worn garb - since he is unsuited to combat in any form.

Cutie Mark: Bardic's mark is a feather quill surrounded by stars: representing his knowledge, love of research and reading, and the magic carried by words rather than conventional spells.

Personality: Bardic is a very methodical character: he thinks every action and word through thoroughly before acting or speaking. He has great respect for stories and songs, whether written or verbal. He believes that words carry a magic of their own, different to unicorn or Alicorn magic.<br /><br />Bardic reads every story he can and is able to recall tales he has heard years ago almost effortlessly. He loves to tell stories to anypony who will listen, for entertainment or to pass on the messages that they carry.<br /><br />The huge number of books that he has read and re-read over the years, scouring for information on anything and everything - has led to him having a very diverse skill set. He might never be able to master an art - nor have any of the benefits that talent or skill can provide - but can recall methods, techniques and information at a textbook level within a moments notice - allowing him to improvise in situations where he would otherwise prove utterly hopeless.

Backstory: Somewhere in Bardic's family history, his ancestors immigrated to Saddle Arabia. Over the years his unicorn bloodline has merged with that of the horses there. His overall appearance mostly resembles that of a unicorn, however he stands slightly taller with a more wiry build, and is far less able with conventional magic that they are. <br /><br />In addition, Bardic never really practiced any kind of physical training: he is slightly below average in terms of strength, speed and stamina, at best. Even if he has no pinpoint weaknesses in any of these areas, he doesn't have any particular advantages either.<br /><br />Instead, Bardic practices his skill with words: inspiring, misleading, tricking and convincing others through persuasion and song. He is convinced that the old tales which speak of this as an actual form of magic are true and seeks to achieve this.
