Cutie Mark: A plant stem and two berries forming a bass clef. He has two main passions/talents so...yeah. But he's more shy about his singing than his farming.
Personality: Bassberry is a very shy pony. He's also paranoid about or scared of a lot of things. He spends most of his time alone, singing to himself quietly on his farm. Ponies assume he has a quiet, high-pitched voice and that he's probably weak since he's small and cute and shy, and he doesn't talk much, but he actually has a very deep bass voice and would probably win in a fight.
Backstory: Bassberry grew up on his parent's berry farm. They mainly grew blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries though they also had blackberries, huckleberries, and salmon berries on their property, but not in the farm section. His mom died when he was fifteen, and then his dad died when he was barely out of high school, and he inherited the farm at 21. The farm had been mostly U-Pick, but he fenced off the raspberry section, since they're his specialty berry, and he didn't want random ponies handling his precious plants. He also expanded the farm section of the property to include the other types of berries, and organized them a bit more, so now he has six types of berries on the farm. Throughout his life he'd loved the berry plants and he'd always helped his parents out with the farm. He was a very normal little colt. Then he started going to school and things got bad. The Apple family was well known and respected, but his family was not. And apparently that meant that farming berries was something to be laughed at. He continued to get shyer and more withdrawn until eventually he just ignored everypony and would only talk to his plants. When his voice changed in middle school it was very very deep, and he began to sing to his plants, thus discovering his love for singing. It was then that he got his cutie mark.
