Appearance: Tall and broad, even by diamond dog standards, Butch usually sports heavy and ornate armor, though he has recently taken a liking to tuxedos and fur coats.

Personality: Despite his brutish appearance, Butch does sport his species' low cunning along with a tenacity that enables him to slowly figure out problems that he can't be solved with his fists.<br />

Backstory: Butch started out like many diamond dogs: As a minor bandit chieftain in the mountains south of Equestria, doing light mining and robbing unwary travelers.<br />His turn of fortune came five years ago, when a Saddle Arabian caravan that Butch and his boys were laying in ambush for, was attacked by another diamond dog band. Enraged by such a lack of professional courtesy, Butch and his boys swooped down on their rivals, driving them off with a with a flurry of punches, kicks and thrown rocks.<br />The sheik leading the caravan thanked the perplexed Butch for "coming to his rescue", gifting him with a crate of gems and promised him even more, if he and his dogs would escort the caravan out of the mountains.<br />Soon Butch realized that working for ponies was more profitable and less risky than robbing them and got into the protection business on a big scale,hiring more diamond dogs and setting up an agency in Canterlot.<br />Soon he expanded his business into providing security for gem mines, which proved so profitable that Butch was able to buy a luxurious mansion in Canterlot's noble district.<br /><br />Since then Butch has shown no sign of slowing down: He is currently employing more than 200 diamond dogs, along with a dozen griffons for escorting airships and a flock of unicorn lawyers that help him get away with some not-entirely-legal business practices when it comes to dealing with diamond dog competition. He has also established himself as a part of Canterlot's upper class, whose members tend to value wealth far above such trivial things as species and manners. Butch regularly throws balls and parties and is known for giving generously at charitable auctions, once even buying a dance with princess Celestia.
