  • Bladewing

    Bladewing

    • Age: 18 (in appearance, possibly much older)

      Gender: Male

      Species: Pegasus

Appearance: Gray coat, black mane/tail with white streaks, and green eyes.

Cutie Mark: Bladewing's cutie mark is a dark gray dreamcatcher with a silver sword across its length. The sword symbolizes his proficiency in combat and the dreamcatcher represents his ability to manipulate his enemy's thoughts and emotions.

Personality: Very quiet and generally laid back. Nopony ever seems to pay any attention to him, but he uses this to his advantage. He's very friendly and talkative once you get to know him, but he otherwise keeps to himself. He is very honorable in combat, especially against others who share his views, but if his opponent begins using tricks, he won't hesitate to do the same.

Backstory: Bladewing was born in the Rainbow Factory universe. One of his parents is arguably the best assassin in Equestria, the other is an elite changeling from a lost changeling tribe. He was born to be a spy for the lost changeling tribe in an attempt for them to reclaim their foothold in Equestria, but as a foal, he was abandoned in the Everfree Forest. By chance, a wandering pegasus found him and brought him to Cloudsdale, where he lived in an orphanage until he was 12. When he was 12, he had ended up severely crippling one of the main bullies in the orphanage both physically and mentally, which earned him his cutie mark. The people who ran the orphanage saw this, and planned to ship him off to the Rainbow Factory as a "worker". Before they could do so, he escaped and fled to the Everfree Forest, where he lived, alone, for a year. During his time in the Everfree Forest, he learned much about the darker side of things, and one day he stumbled across a chest containing a small fortune. He eventually moved back to Cloudsdale and bought a nice house with the money he found. A year later, an Advanced Flight School took note of his impressive flying skills. In this school he made many friends, but two in particular stood out: Silverwave and Duskfire. When the time for graduation came, he had easily passed the final exam; Silverwave, however, didn't. According to the test instructor, Silverwave would be shipped off to a far away area in banishment from Cloudsdale, but Bladewing wasn't so sure. He followed the carriage that took Silverwave under the cover of a scheduled thunderstorm, and to his horror, he found that Silverwave was actually being sent to the Rainbow Factory. Bladewing attempted a rescue on Silverwave, but Silverwave got separated from Bladewing and was tragically impaled on the branch of a tree. Driven by the death of his friend, Bladewing vowed to destroy the Rainbow Factory. As fate would have it, Bladewing's brother, Nightshade, was captured by the Rainbow Factory and forced against his will to hunt down and assassinate those who may threaten it due to a collar capable of killing him at any moment, and this time his brother Bladewing was the target. Nightshade found Bladewing and an intense battle ensued, ending with the two of them being too exhausted to move. During this time, they discovered that they were brothers, and using an ancient spell he learned in the Everfree Forest, Bladewing removed the collar. Afterwards, the two parted ways, and alongside the now repentant Rainbow Dash, Bladewing attempted an infiltration of the Rainbow Factory. The two nearly succeeded, but in the end, they were discovered and captured. The overseer of the Rainbow Factory used a new machine able to directly drain spectra out of any living pony on Rainbow Dash, but before the machine could harm her, Bladewing broke from his captors and pushed Rainbow out of the way, getting his own colors drained in the process; the once red streaks on his mane turned into a bright white. Before the machine was able to fully drain him, Nightshade broke in and rescued the two, the three of them escaping and forming the foundation for The Dark Horses, a group dedicated to the destruction of the Rainbow Factory. Within a matter of months, the group grew from half a dozen members to a mass of hundreds, and within another two weeks, the Rainbow Factory had been successfully raided and destroyed. For their heroism, the princesses granted Bladewing and Nightshade a great extension to their lifespan as well as an extra "perk"; they were now bound to the Nexus, which allowed them to resurrect should they die. This also, however, caused them to be randomly and suddenly pulled into other universes should destiny decide that they were needed there...
