Appearance: Blue Note prides herself on keeping her appearance up. Her mane is elegantly kept, and she enjoys styling it sophisticatedly. It's usually put up, so she can better keep it in order. Her tail and main are a dark blue, complimenting her light blue fur. Blue Note likes to keep herself "presentable". Her eyes are a shade of deep purple. She has an average build. She wears glasses when she's working.

Cutie Mark: Blue Note's cutie mark is a single eighth note being written by a quill. It represents her talent for composing music. It bears a striking similarity to Inky Pen's cutie mark, her best friend (in some universes).

Personality: Blue Note's outlook on the world is pessimistic. She will always will assume the worst, in life and in ponies. She does show shades of optimism when it comes to her dreams, or when she meets a pony she really trusts.<br />But trusting is difficult for her, and she has few friends as a result. She is willing to do a lot for her friends, and tries to be supportive. However, she doesn't quite believe herself a worthy friend. She isn't sure if her friends need her, or if they'll always stick around. <br />She's reserved, but never has a problem using sarcasm when need be. She can be very blunt, and will lash out if a pony pushes her too far. Her negativity is off-putting to many. Approaching her is difficult, but she does make a better friend than she thinks.

Backstory: Blue Note had an unhappy childhood. Her mother, Sky Note, was a flighty pegasus that ultimately was not interested in raising a child. Her father, Proof Hooves, was the more responsible of the pair, but he was largely incapable of understanding and raising his daughter. <br /><br />Sky Note left her at an early age. Blue Note believes she went back to Cloudsdale, and dreams of one day going there to find her, to get her side of the story.<br /><br />Proof Hooves was never the same parent after she left. Blue Note was a reminder of what he had lost. He would only call her Blue after that. The tension between the two increased, spilling over once Blue Note got her cutie mark. He had supported her clarinet playing and music lessons when she was a filly, viewing it as something for her to do, but he didn't approve of music being her special talent. It was too "flighty" and "not important enough". This made Blue Note feel unwanted and unappreciated.<br /><br />When she was old enough, she auditioned for music schools around Equestria. She chose to go the prestigious music school at the University of Manehatten, where she graduated with a degree in music composition.<br /><br />Blue Note moved away after graduation. She encountered a bit of beginner's luck and managed to get a composition commissioned and published. She is still trying to break into the business, however, and she hasn't gotten much other composition work. She takes other musical jobs to get by, like street performing and teaching. She loves getting performance gigs at actual venues. She keeps at composing, and hopes that one day she'll break into the business.<br />
