Appearance: Carter is an Earth Pony but a different species of one. He's a cross breed in which a rather Moose-like genetic is present, thus giving him the pair of antlers on his head. He has a dark grey body and a light brown and grey streaked mane and tail. He's not blind, but he wears a monocle because he feels his talent of art is stronger while seeing through a clearer image. Carter wears both a coat and beret due to cold weather where he lives.
Cutie Mark: The grey heart sketched by a pencil represents Carter's cutie mark in which he has a passionate behavior and love of the things around him. He always enjoyed looking at scenery. Everywhere he went, his eyes absorbed every detail of everything until he grasped an emotion from what he saw. One time when he was little he found himself in the midst of a small area the size of a playground. All that was there were trees, but they were cold, snowy, gray trees. No leaves or vibrant color to be found. Quickly, Carter reached for his sketch book and began to draw what he saw. However, when he was finished with what he saw, he added what he felt. He changed the time of day in his sketch to nighttime, a large glistening moon in the horizon, and put a bench in the center of the trees. There on the bench he put two ponies. A boy and a girl, staring into each others eyes and gazing distantly with thoughts of happiness for each other. He smiled with warmth as he added a heart, a bright red one, right in between them. The sketch and everything in it was a symbol. "When things seem grey, there will always be another to brighten your color, until that color is at it's most vibrant." That is what Carter said after finishing the sketch. Essentially, when things seem down, another can make a broken heart surge with life. Here, is when Carter earned his cutie mark. His pencil, the symbol of his creativity, and his sketched heart, the symbol of his love and passion everywhere he goes, and in every line his pencil draws.
Personality: Carter is always in a lovely mood. He's not significantly bouncing with joy, but nor is he pouting with sadness. He's right in the middle. He has a passion for all things, especially the beautiful mares. He often likes to express himself through art and acts of kindness. He can be a little stubborn at times but he's otherwise friendly and tries to keep a serious attitude.
Backstory: Carter comes from a line of a specific genetic in which there are antlers present amongst the head. However, it's not entirely uncommon for where he lives, which is a rather Alaskan type place, but it's uncommon enough for him to be picked on. It was rough growing up, but as time went his antlers became a sense of fashion for him, and other ponies made fun of him less. If there's one thing Carter enjoyed, it was art. He always admired the personality and expression that was put into it. His parents weren't artistic at all, in fact they were rather greedy business ponies, but Carter didn't want to take that route. Instead, one night, he was up late in his room and took a single sheet of paper and a pencil, and began to draw what he saw outside. It wasn't much. There was a sidewalk, a lamppost, and a drizzle of snow about. When he was done, it surprisingly didn't look too bad, but something was still missing. Day after day he spent drawing and imagining, until finally he came across an area of inspiration, in which he had a sense of emotion surging through the place. After drawing and coloring a rough sketch, he added his own things, until he felt a sense of love and passion flowing through the lines he had drawn. Once Carter, the age of 15, found what he had done, he earned his cutie mark. From then on, he continued to add his own touches of inspiration to each sketch, until he was well known for his passionate creations, and majored in creativity.
