Species: Earth Pony

Cutie Mark: He's a blank flank, and doesn't really care. His special talent is to help others, but he likes helping ponies, so he doesn't seem to realize that's special.

Personality: Despite his age he is very wise. That's because he learned a lot from the books he'd always read when he was young, always applying the book's aesops to himself (so if a book ended with the lesson "don't judge others before you get to know them", he'd learn not to do that). Because he never had others to talk with, he never seemed to develop much of a personality, aside from what the books taught to him. Because of this, he is calm, generous, kind, loyal, humble, righteous, respectful, tolerant among many other virtues. However, this is all a mask: he does not act so virtuously because he's that much of a good guy, but rather because he knows that's how a good pony should act. In reality, he has a bad temper, is impatient (he can pass as being patient because he knows complaining won't make it faster) and egocentric. However, he still has some true virtues that he always demonstrate, primarily honesty and curiosity (although his honesty can become pretty blunt and even brutal if he's not hiding his true personality). He also has a dislike for authority: he believes that the best kind of government would be an anarchy, but that everypony would need to be as smart as him (something he considers impossible) for it to not degenerate into chaos, and so sees government as a necessary evil he can tolerate so long as it doesn't get on his way. He considers himself to be smarter than everypony else (opening exception only to Princess Celestia), although he doesn not equal that to being better than others, instead he believes that everypony has equal value, which is part of why he hates the idea of government. The thing that angers him more is somepony trying to force their will on others, as he believes everypony has the right to do whatever the hay they want, so long as it is not bad for somepony else.

Backstory: I'll rewrite his backstory once I learn to make a good one. For now, what matters is that he comes from Manehatten.
