Cutie Mark: Chilltide's cutie mark is a light-blue snowflake covering a yellow crescent moon. It seems to represent both his calm and cool nature and his talents and interest in areas of magic that involve the moon, the tides, the ocean, water, snow, ice... and the like. He earned it at a somewhat young age, and shows it off quite proudly. While he isn't one to boast often, he certainly likes to use it to draw attention at times.

Personality: OVERALL: <br />Chilltide is known for his calm and confident behavior, but he can be anxious at times and most of his personality is just a facade. When he's in the presence of fewer people or those he trusts, he tends to show more signs of anxiety and can have a temper. Not only is this because he bottles up his emotions in order to react positively in public, he is also very sleep deprived. He "suffers" from what he calls mild insomnia, but the lack of rest is usually caused by simply staying up late. Whether this be because of studying, partying,or actual insomnia, it certainly takes both a physical and mental toll on him. At times he does show extreme fear of certain things, and if he has been driven to a breaking point or has been made open for some other reason, he explains that he is haunted by nightmares almost every time he does sleep. He isn't as athletic as he boasts due to his fatigue and can become weary after performing powerful or demanding spells. Even so, he does know how to be kind and cool in public and is rather popular for it. His most prominent talent is the ability to calm or soothe others, even when he himself is distressed.<br /><br />COLT STAGES: <br />As a colt, Chilltide is less sociable and although he may be popular his confidence is underdeveloped. It's more usual for him to become anxious, stressed, and sad at this point, even though he hasn't quite come out of his shell yet. He hasn't grown completely used to the common people of Manehattan at this stage of his life, so he tends to come off as somewhat narcissistic and rude when speaking with them. He can be enticed into becoming friends with less wealthy foals, but they must first recognize his background and accept his behavior to change it.<br />As an adolescent he is more comfortable in his new location, more social, and less prone to being visibly upset. He also reaches his cutie mark slightly before adolescence. During foalhood Chilltide may be 8-12, and during adolescence he may be 13-17.<br /><br />YOUNG STALLION STAGE: <br />Although Chilltide has achieved a very high social stature and has made friendships with most of his classmates through kindness and charisma, he seems to care much more about his education now. He plans on becoming a powerful magician and an expert on the moon, the ocean, and water/ice in general. This may be difficult due to the fact that he gets the least amount of sleep in this stage, but his determination may make him a bit less likely to talk to his friends frequently. Often times he seems to be in a hurry, and will pretend not to notice others who approach him. He does resume his calm and charismatic nature, but is much less flamboyant. He is open to a special somepony, but spends so much time with friends or studying that he doesn't stop to consider one. In any scenario in which he is about to start his studies in Canterlot, he seems visibly more anxious. In this stage he can be anywhere from 18-20.<br /><br />STALLION STAGE:<br />This stage can take place anywhere from during Chilltide's Canterlot education or any time onward. He can be 21-30 here, and his knowledge and magic skills grow depending on the age. At this point he is much more well-rested while still retaining some bad sleep habits (can still be an insomniac depending on scenario) and also more mature. He isn't as talkative as he was before, though not still not timid. He is much more open to those he cares about while trying not to act angrily or out of control. Chilltide hasn't forgotten any of his close friends and will probably try to keep them for as long as he can. He is more likely to try and find a special somepony as he wants to try settling down after finishing school.

Backstory: Chilltide was born in Canterlot into a wealthy family of three, including himself. His parents were both very proper, his father being a part of the royal guard for a time before retiring and his mother being a skilled magician. As such, he was raised with very good manners but somewhat of a lack of respect for common people. His education started at a young age, and he was forced to learn difficult forms of magic and science as soon as he had a basic understanding of reading, writing, and mathematics. School became stressful and torturous for Chilltide, and may have gotten worse had his parents not dealt with financial troubles. <br /><br />Although they retained most of their wealth, they decided to give up their larger home in Canterlot for a house in Manehattan. A change involved in this that Chilltide and his parents weren't fond of was both Chilltide's switch to public school and the integration with less wealthy folk. His parents did recognize the presence of an upper class full of celebrities and business people, and such was part of the reason the decision was made. <br /><br />Chilltide would soon be relieved of most of his stress since school would be much easier, but occasional nightmares would still loom over him. He turned out to be one of the wealthiest of the colts and fillies that attended his school, which of course made him very popular among the crowd. Unlike the other ponies of his stature he was never unkind to anyone and didn't take his position too seriously. Along with the good relationships he had with almost everypony at school, he would end up making much closer friends along the way. While he more or less stood by them throughout the years, he would sometimes drop in social stature.<br /><br />After getting a normal education, he asked that his parents enroll him at a school of magic in Canterlot, and they obliged. It would be of no harm to stop by a few places on his way there, and on his path he eventually ended up meeting new ponies and hopefully creating more friends than enemies. After finishing his studies in Canterlot at the age of 22, he became a very skilled magician and gained a great deal of knowledge on the subjects he studied. He never forgot about his friends and tried to stay in contact with most, writing letters and eagerly awaiting his completion of school. He planned to spend the rest of his life with his friends and to keep improving until his name was known widely around Equestria. Royalty was far off, but he had learned he could settle for less.
