Backstory: Copper grew up on a farm out in the west between Appleloosa and Dodge Junction. He lived there for a few years with his parents and older sister and three younger sisters.

One day when his father thought he could use some quality time with Copper, he took him to meet his granddad who lived near the woods of the Everfree. His granddad cooked moonshine in the woods, because it was a good way to make bits and most ponies wouldn't go looking for stills in the Everfree. Coppers grandad and father showed him how Moonshine was made, they even took him on runs sometimes. From there Copper grew to love the process that goes into making moonshine.

Before his father met his mother and started their farm, he use to be a train puller for the Appleloosa railroad. So sometimes he would bring his family on trips to the city on the train. Copper would love to hear stories of his fathers times pulling the trains. Sometimes when they were on trips Copper would sneak out of there happen and head to the train engine and watch the ponies pull the train with all there might while seeming like they were just out for a nightly jog.

One day when he was fourteen his granddad asked hos father to do a quick delivery for him to Ponyville. Copper stayed to help his granddad while his father went to do the run. While he was cleaning he found a jar of moonshine his father forgot. He ran to his granddad to ask if he could go after his father before he got to far. His granddad said he could, it didn't take more than a second for Copper to tack of in a puff of smoke.

Copper loved to run, his goal was to be as fast and strong as his father and the rail running ponies he used to sneak out to watch.

Copper ran as fast as he could till he was neck and neck with a train. Wanting to test himself he started racing the train. His legs were on fire but he didn't give up. He started running so fast that he soon got to the front of the train where the rail runners were. They looked at Copper in surprise.

It was the first time ever they've seen a stallion as young as him keeping up with a train. On the other side was his father, he was running with some of his old friends while he ran his delivery. He was also surprised to see Copper along with being very impressed.

His father maneuvered around to the side of the train Copper was on. In on motion, Copers father scooped him up on his back while he kept running. Copper was panting heavily on his father back, but he was still able to place the jar in his father carrier. That was when a flash of light came from Coppers flank to reveal his cutie mark.

Even though he was still out of breath he had enough strength to hug his father.

When they got to Ponyville, Copper was the one to do the delivery. His granddad and father even let him keep the bits as a gift for getting his cutie mark. HE was also able to get whatever he wanted from town. The first place Copper wanted to go was the hat shop to get himself a red bandanna like the train runners wore.

While he was there his father got him his own hat as well. For Copper, it was the best day ever.

Copper now works as a train pulle and a moonshine runner for his granddad.
