Backstory: Coriander was always destined for a career in food, and from a young age showed a stroke of genius when it came to cuisine, able to transform a selection of boring ingredients into a culinary delight with ease. Unfortunately, Coriander was born in Canterlot, where there were countless others like him, and the gourmet food business was a tough one to break into.<br /><br />Working as a chef in a small restaurant called the 'Basil and Tomato' on the outskirts of the city walls, Coriander also had a strong interest in solving mysteries, seeing himself as a champion of justice for the locals, who usually cannot afford a proper detective.
