Personality: Quite dark to strangers. But friendly to people he likes.

Backstory: Overall and Childhood-Darklight is a Unicorn. He was born and raised in a poor family in Canterlot. He was bullied by other kids all his childhood. Not only mentally but also physically, he has been a loner all his life. Without friends. His only goal in his childhood was to get some friend and be liked by other kids and such. <br />Later: Dark Night never had much of a purpose in life, He thought about himself as ugly and useless(Even thou he was quite a charming Stalion with many abilities), becouse thats what the bullies made him belive. When he turned 18(or whenever Ponies reached Adult) he decided to commit suicide. Finding his life pointless and sad.<br />The day before he planned to kill him self he saw Princess Luna, She was still young since this happened before she was banished to the moon. He saw her walking by the street. He found her to be the most beautiful mare hes ever seen, and had a sudden crush on her. She also noticed the quite handsome stalion and their eyes met once. Dark Night promised to himself that he would get her heart. Making that his primary goal in life. So he joined the Equestrian army/Canterlot guard(or whatever military there is in equestria)He climbed the ranks quickly. His earlier life made him into a tough stalion. He climbed the ranks really quickly along(Because Princess Luna kept an eye on him and tried to guide him into the royal guard) . In about 2 years he managed to get into the Royal Guard. Still not reviling his feelings to Luna. He stays under the Royal Guard. Proudly servicing Princess Celestia and most important for him Luna.<br /><br />Luna made him her personal guard. But yet they never spoke. Both of them were too shy.(Yes Luna also had a crush on him)<br />Until one day when both of them somehow got the curage to talk to each other. And revealed their feelings. That was one of the happiest nights Darklight even had. <br />Sadly years later Luna got a weird obsession about the lack of love she was getting from the ponies that slept at night. And rebelled against Celestia. That was something Darklight could not stop. Right before Celestia cast the banishing spell upon Darklights loved one, he managed to get in the middle of the action and try to stop it. Trying to kill Celestia before she cast the spell. But he was quickly overwhelmed by guards. And after everything was over, sent into the deepest cell of the Canterlot Dungeons. Destined to rott. But against all odds he stayed alive. Nobody knows what power kept him alive. But for 1000 years while Luna was gone he didn't die. Even thou he was tortured on a daily basis for the first years. And then left to starve. He lived.<br />When Luna was back, Celestia noticed how sad she was, not having anyone she can share anything with. She felt guilty for (As she thought) Murdering the only friend Luna really had. She sent a group of guards to al least give him a proper burial. But against all odds the guards found Darklight alive. And quickly took him under medical attention. When he got better. Celestia chose him to be Captain of the Lunar Guard Immediately. Just so she would see Luna smile again. <br />Sadly The Princess of the Night didn't remember him. The spell that sent her to the moon took away many of her memories. Darklight being one of them. But he tries to rebuild. Again slowly trying to get to know her. And maybe rebuild their once existed friendship.
