Appearance: A very large and imposing grey coated colt. With dark yellow eyes and a matted black mane and tail. He has a curved scar below his left eye and a huge straight one across his flank as well.

Cutie Mark: Sometimes hard to make out because of his scar, his cutie mark is a hoof wrestle between to ponies. Some believe that his cutie mark represents his incredible strength but in truth it represents his inability to give up.

Personality: Very cold and stoic, he can get frustrated at other ponies at times do not being as determined as he is. He can also edge towards the paranoia due to his familiarity with betrayal.

Backstory: He was raised to two earth ponies smiths in Canterlot city, and had many chores at a young age. He became more obsessed with how to use them then how to make them, much to his father's disappointment. He really favored the halberd and as soon as he could forged his own, a guard captain saw him practicing and decided to help him enter the Canterlot Guard School for Gifted Colts. He was outclassed by most of his peers however who's fathers where guards themselves and had groomed their children for this life, he kept friend though constantly reading old training manuals for old masters ideas on wielding the halberd and sparring to apply me, until he graduated valid victorian, he then got his cutie mark. He was recruited for the night guard and was assigned the task of body guarding princess Luna. He then dedicated himself to his service. However one day, on leave he and some other guards went into the everfree forest by Ponyvile to try and test their skills against the inhabitants but as they where walking a manticore jumped them and tackled Darksteel before he could unsheathe his weapon form his back and his fellows ran off leaving him. Later he woke up in a hut next to a zebra who had saved him from the manticore, he would live but the scares would be permanent. Angry, Nightsteel resigned from his position and decided to train in hoof to hoof combat as well as his weapon. Zecora taught him basic movements from the land beyond the Everfree and he was resting from a long days practice when he felt the explosion.
