Appearance: Dawn (Dawna) Shimmer is a yellow unicorn with an orange mane and blue eyes.

Cutie Mark: Dawn's cutie mark is a sun with sparkles surrounding it, exhibiting her talent for magic.

Personality: Dawn is an assertive, loving filly who'd do anything to keep her sister out of harm's way. She tends to get overexcited about anything with magic envolved, such as her class trip to the royal library. She's timid around new ponies, but not as much as Dusk. She hates to see a friend in a bad situtation and does anything she can to assist anypony who needs her.

Backstory: Dawn Shimmer is the older sister of Dusk (Duskie) Shimmer. They're both daughters of Sunset Shimmer and her fiance, Dark Moon. Dawn was about 3 years old when Duskie was born. The two sister grew very close, and found out their magic was so connected it caused them to have moments of random and complete syncronization. Duskie and Dawn were stargazing when Dawn's cutie mark appeared. The fily's eyes began to glow as she painted the colors of the sunrise, which in her name, later was called the Dawn. This happened around age 8, when Duskie was 5. Dawn and Dusk soon found that their mother was pregnant with another foal/foals.
