Cutie Mark: Dragonbrand: The brand is a marking that replaces the cutie mark of those that go through the Rite of Dragonfire. It signifies that said pony’s destiny has been influenced by an Elder Dragon. Only the Elder Dragon who gave the pony their mark knows the full extent of the pony’s altered destiny but rarely are The Branded meant for anything less than a grand destiny.
Personality: Diamond Dust is a good natured mare; although she has a bit of an ego from being treated like nobility growing up. Due to the expectations of those around her, Diamond Dust can be unnecessarily hard on herself at times. In conversations she is very blunt and to the point. She finds it a bit weird that in Equestria their leaders are ponies and not dragons; even if those ponies are Alicorns... Her favorite color is blue.

Alignment: Neutral Good
Backstory: Diamond Dust is a pony from the Dragon Lands south of Equestria; born and raised in a tribal-like society centered around the worship of an Elder Silver Dragon by the name of Glimmer. When she was a young filly she was called upon by the Elder Dragon to undergo the Rite of Dragonfire.

The Rite of Dragonfire is in her culture a great honor; as it’s a sign that the Elder Dragon has a grand destiny in mind for a pony. However the trials are not easy; especially for ponies so young. It tests not only their strength, but will and heart as well. Not every pony called to undertake these trials passes.

However through the grueling tasks Diamond Dust managed to shine; and she passed the trials. As a result she was granted her Dragonbrand a symbol of the Elder Dragon’s grand plan for her a somewhat augmented form of a pony’s Cutie Mark.

Diamond’s trials didn’t end there though as she now had to learn to control the Draconic power flowing through her as a result of the rite and while she and family was cared for from then on, her training always meant there was little time for other concerns such as friends.

When Diamond came of age; the Elder Dragon once again called upon the young mare. Diamond was asked her to go out into the world to act as the dragon’s herald with the hope that Diamond Dust would use her powers to help out those less fortunate and stop those who would use their power for evil purposes.

The nearest inhabited lands to her own was the kingdom to the north of Equestria. At first she had a difficult time fitting in; what with her draconic features and unfamiliarity to Equestrian culture; especially the reverence of ponies as their deities and leaders rather than dragons; even if those ponies were Alicorns.

Unfortunately Diamond Dust wasn’t entirely sure what she was supposed to be doing in Equestria. She was always told that a grand destiny waited for her, but she was never told she would have to find that destiny herself.
