Dorado
By AnonBrony
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Species: Pegasus
Appearance: Tanish beige coat. Short Dark Brown nearly black mane that's brushed back. Short tail same color as mane. Handsome. Golden colored eyes. Usually wears light gilded armor and a hat at times. Right ear is pieced with a small pure gold earring. Under his clothes he wears a gold necklace that bears his family crest
Cutie Mark: Bow and arrows - Symbolizes his skill love of archery and other ranged weapons.
Personality: There are only three things he cares about in the world: Himself, Money, and Mares. He is arrogant and very greedy, and flirts with every mare he meets. When he meets a mare, he acts charming and polite, like your own knight and shinning armor that would whisk you off into the sunset to live happily ever after. Yet that never happens. He usually has good charisma when it comes to mares. If it some important pony he still acts like a prince charming unless its a pony he doesn't even care about. He also loves all his weapons and would rather use a ranged one than use a melee one.
Backstory: Full Name: Dorado Oros Mercantil de Caballo. (Everyone just calls him Dorado but he calls himself El Dorado)

Backstory: He was born in a small foreign country of Espoña(Pun for España which means Spain) in the city of Maredrid (Pun for Madrid). He was born into one of rich noble merchant families, The Oros. They were the rival family of the Platas, the other noble family. Most of the ponies in La Familia Oros were either rich enough they didn't need to work or they were wealthy merchants.

Dorado's father was one of higher up more rich ponys in the familiy. He also had a mother, and a younger sister. He adored his sister the most. They were a rich happy family. He had a good life as a child. Usually getting whatever he wanted. However, he loved money a lot, he had a growing interest in fighting and warfare. Archery was what interested him the most. Even though most ponies don't use bows. One day his father decided that if his son were to become a soldier or a knight, he should probably train him a bit before sending him to the Academy. His father taught him the basics of how to wield a sword with a hoof and in his mouth, but he wasn't very good at it. Dorado wanted to try archery. His father gave him a bow and some arrows and taught him how to use them. Stand on the hind legs or fly, use one hoof to hold out the bow and use the other front leg to pull back the string. Or use the mouth to pull pack the string. Most ponies weren't great using bows, which is why they mainly either used mounted crossbows or were buckers or slingers or used cannons. However when Dorado fired the first arrow he got it close to the bulls-eye. His father was surprised. He let him try again. And the next few times he kept getting it in the center. It was at that moment he got his Cutie Mark.

As he grew older he became enrolled in a military academy where he trained to become part of the military. Unfortunately things wouldn't stay happy for long. The Oros and Platas hated each others guts. They despised the sight of one another. Mainly because they were the two wealthiest families and they were always competing in the trade market. However recently The Oros have been dominating in the market and have been gaining more influence in the city. Yet all of that changed when the King of Espoña was assassinated. There were no heirs in the Royal family so that means the titles had to fall to either a member of The Oros or Platas. But they could not decide which. The two families then began to fight, many saying an Oro killed the King in order to ascend to the throne. For the next year or so the families would argue even more, and eventually fights would happen on the streets and ponies would begin to die.

After a long quarrel an heir was decided, and that heir would be a Plata. Knowing a Plata as King would spell doom for his family, Dorado's father quickly decided to flee the country before things got out of hoof, taking their wealth with them.

They, Dorado's sibling and parents, finally found their way to Equestria and settled in Manehattan where his father set up a trading company that helped him sustain his families wealth. He quickly became one of the Manehattan elites.

Dorado, having military training, became a Royal Guard though his main job was just to guard his families money and valuables. Now, he loved being rich, and there were many beautiful mares in Manehattan, but he still yearned for more, mainly more money of his own. So he traveled and adventured often, exploring his new home of Equestria and meeting many different ponies. Usually taking mercenary jobs as well, just for the trill of it. Being the pony he is he also wouldn't even hesitate if he had a chance to steal money either, which he saw as a thrill too. Eventually he decided to fully leave the Royal Guard so he could go on these adventures and he's being going on them for many years now. Going back to Manehattan whenever he wanted to relax. Dorado would obtain nice weapons for his adventures as well. Why use a regular crossbow when you can afford nice fancier ones and even get some nice gilded armor as well? He also began to train himself in other ranged weapons as well.

Now with the political unrest Dorado is hoping to use his families power and wealth, and his own prowess in combat to make his family the most powerful in Equestria.

(This part of the Bacsktory is was specifically made of Equestria Divided)

After a long quarrel an heir was decided, and that heir would be a Plata. The new King despised the Oro family the most, especially because of the recent fights. He hated them so much he decided to make them pay higher taxes and to stop all trade with them. The Oros eventually started to lose a lot of money, become in debt, and be poor. They had lost all their power. The King eventually decided to ruin the family even more by putting secret bountys on some of the family members heads.

Dorado was desperate for money. He was even kicked out of the academy for being an Oros. He and his family with eating rations and were wearing peasant clothes. But his father hasn't song his gold necklace yet, the one that bore the family crest, out of stubbornness and pride. Dorado want some gold so much, it was as if he need it to survive. One day, he was going to out for a while in the city and his family were gonna have dinner and stay with other family members. But he didn't really know much about that. He stayed out for a long time, and even heard about the bounties. He saw the reward was high, but it meant killing some family members. He was desperate, so he decided to go for it, he didn't mind if some died as long as his parents and siblings didn't...

He didn't go back home that night. Instead he prepared. There was a bounty for the family staying in a certain building and he would not get the reward if they weren't all killed. He didn't recognize the building, but apparently the one who gave him the job said they were sleeping in there. He dawned on a mask and few up to the window of the room they were sleeping in. He went through and in the bed room he saw a couple sleeping in the same bed. It was too dark to see who it was. Even though he disliked used close combat weapons, he knew trying to use a bow might be too risky, considering they are sleeping. He drew a knife and stabbed the stallion, killing him. The mare then woke up and screamed only to have Dorado silence her. Th scream woke up the occupants of the room adjacent. Dorado knew they would and heard them faintly. He took out his crossbow and loaded it then waited for some pony to come in. A Stallion opened the door and before he could say anything Dorado shot the bolt at him and killed him. He loaded the crossbow again and proceeded to the adjacent room where the last pony was. He opened the door and held out the bow. A Candle was lit and he can see a mare cowering in the corner of the room. The mare looked up at him and uttered the words "please don't kill me."

It was his sister. The one who he adored the most.

It was that moment he realized what he had done. He just killed his own family. He didn't know they were staying there for the night. He didn't know who he was killing. He took the job blindly, just for some gold. He looked at her, she didn't know who he was. He decided to finish the job. He aimed the bow, "Forgive me" he said and fired. He killed the ones he cared most about. After that he began to cry intensely and muttered to himself, "I'm sorry" over and over and over. He eventually heard ponies outside that sounded like guards. He acted quickly, he took the necklace off of his late father and fled the area without being caught. He then collected the reward money the next day.

He betrayed his own family and knew it be best to just disappear. He recently heard about the Royal Sisters in Equestria disappearing. and how conflict has begun to stir. He decided become a bounty hunter and he took a boat to Manehatten.

Over the next 15 or so years of his life he would live in Manehatten and take up jobs killing and being a hired assassin for the House and even take some jobs being a mercenary or a guard. He would become a Pony of Fortune. He would call himself 'El Dorado' obtain some armor that he would have gilded to look like it was gold. And even get some new weapons (some coming from Earthborn) and train himself better in many different range weapons.
