Personality: <p> Lazuli is generally aloof and difficult to make friends with. However, should you manage to gain her trust, she will almost definitely become the most loyal and protective friends that you will ever have. She's quick to anger, and sometimes overly emotional if you manage to hit one of her few soft spots, but for the most part she hides her emotions (besides anger) quite well. As of recent years, however, she has been trying to fix that.  </p>

Backstory: <p> Lazuli grew up in a land called Bellephron during a period of time that it was ruled over by a pony named Tempest Diadem. He was appointed Duke of Bellephron many, many years after Equestria formally took the land over, and he slowly implimented policies that allowed him to exploit the land for its rich stores of gems while keeping the population in check. Lazuli was the first foal born to a family with two - which was explicitly illegal at the time. When the guards came and removed her younger brother from the home, her parents were arrested when they tried to take him back. Lazuli fled, living with a friend's family in hiding for several years, but when she turned sixteen she moved out and went out on her own.  </p> <p> Eventually she found herself in Canterlot, where she made a name for herself in the criminal underground. After finally being caught by the Guard, she was given a chance at redemption by joining up and serving Equestria. She took that over the option of being jailed, of course. However, despite her natural skill with fighting and her enjoyment of the Guard life, she soon found out that Princess Celestia was the one who had appointed Tempest as Duke of Bellephron - which set her anger ablaze. She abandoned the Guard, fleeing to Manehatten before they could catch her, and once more turned to crime. Robberies turned into contracts to intimidate, then contracts to injure, and eventually contracts to kill. She became one of the most notorious assassins in Equestria at the time - Dusk Rider, and was wanted nearly everywhere.  </p> <p> When she finally was caught, her story was one that at least managed to move a few hearts. She was not granted mercy immediately, but after a long, hard battle against the will of the Princesses, she was given some degree of freedom. After a faked execution to take the public eye off of her, she was sent on her <em>last</em> assassination - to kill Tempest Diadem.  </p> <p> When she returned, it wasn't viable to let her live anywhere heavily populated, so she was sent to Ponyville. There, she lives with Tempest Shadow (or as she is known now, Fizzlepop Berrytwist) and other ponies, most of them having very little knowledge of her past. Now, she simply wants to avoid all memory or mention of the mare she once was.  </p>
