Appearance: <p> White coat with defined brown hooves and a curly/wavy gray mane. </p>

Cutie Mark: <p> Eighth note with three blue waves inside the circle part, kind of like a Wifi signal. Represents her talent in music, and her tendency to keep to herself. </p>

Personality: <p> Extremely shy and quiet, but can take charge if needed. Overly cautious, particularly about how others see her. </p>

Backstory: <p> Where do I begin? Well, she was born as a unicorn in Canterlot, and grew up there. She was accepted into the Royal School for Gifted Unicorns and studied there, where she met and somewhat befriended a colt named Gibbous Eclipse, whose dad was an important royal guard. One day after school, her brother, Maestro, who was also a student at the school, decided that it was time to help her find her Cutie Mark. Given her family, 3/4 named for something musical and 2/3 having got their cutie marks for something musical, he decided that music was the most reasonable option. Staring with his instrument, the trombone, they worked their way around until they got to the violin. Echoed Melody picked it up and played a beautiful tune, where she got her Cutie Mark. A little while later, Gibbous Eclipse told her that his dad was called on a special mission, and, seeing as he had no other family, was being sent to live with a family in Ponyville until his father returned. That day came, and she returned to being a loner. As she got older, she would use her free time helping out with various things around the classroom. Her time at school eventually ended. </p> <p> She spent her daily life around her family. Maestro eventually went off, travelling across Equestria in an orchestra. Echoed Melody, on the other hand, found a passion in composing. All went well, until one night, she woke up in the middle of the night. Unable to go back to sleep, she got her violin and started playing the tune that earned her her Cutie Mark. Many townspeople gathered around. She went outside, where the others gathered. Here, she realized there was no light, so she cast a light spell. It didn't work. She tried talking to the townspeople, but they could not talk back. She was the only one who could make noise. The townspeople eventually led her to a pegasus, who was surrounded by light, but couldn't speak. He introduced himself, by way of dirt writing, as Beacon Bright, a Cloudsdale native who was training to become a Wonderbolt at the academy, but was encouraged to find one who could make noise after he woke up bathed in light. Well, they did a little reading, and found that the cause of everything that was going on was the Orbs of Light and Sound, which must have been displaced from their proper places. They journeyed to the castle to find the cause. </p> <p> When they reached the inner part of the castle, where the Orbs were, light and sound was available in that room. They found a pegasus with chains around her wings. Her name was Scarred Wing, and she wanted to prove that pegasi could be just as good as the unicorns she grew up around, who believed that being a unicorn was the best way to be. After a talk, and a small fight (and a pretty awesome musical number), she eventually saw the light, and let the two restore the orbs. They put them in the correct places, and a blinding light/fog enveloped the area. Echo and Beacon found themselves in a starry, dark blue place. </p> <p> The two princesses, Neura and Heartwing, appeared, and told the two of a prophecy in the time of a princess named Litera, where a generation of royals would be chosen by the universe itself. Everyone had always assumed two ponies would be born alicorns, but they saw that the two exceptions were the ones chosen. Beacon expressed his concern about becoming a Wonderbolt, and the princesses informed him that he would have to give up that dream if he desired to embrace his destiny. However, there was one thing the princesses could do at that time.  </p> <p> The light was fading, and Scarred Wing was calling for her two new friends. Two figures emerged from the fading light. It was Echoed Melody and Beacon Bright, but with one key difference. They were both alicorns. The two princesses came in and explained to Echo, and Beacon, if he chose to accept it, what being a royal would encompass. They left, leaving Beacon to think about what he would do, as the princesses, including Echo, would work on the enchantments on Scarred Wing's chains. Later, Beacon came in and announced he would become a royal like Echo. About a week later, a dual coronation was held. Her crown-bearer was her brother, who she owed a lot to, Maestro. Beacon chose his best friend from his childhood, Legend's Quill. The day after, Neura and Heartwing started training the two how to properly run a kingdom. </p> <p> One day after that, an all-out attack was launched at the castle by what seemed like a single, extremely powerful pony. Echo ran into the room where all the action was happening, only to find Heartwing and Beacon on the floor, knocked out. Neura was standing between them, staring down the enemy, a pony Echo immediately recognized, Gibbous Eclipse. Apparently, his father never returned, and he came to hold a grudge against any and all alicorns, as that's who he blamed. Echo tried to get him to stop, but, being an alicorn herself, he denied knowing her to begin with. Eventually, he was captured and held for the royals to judge. The time eventually came. Beacon suggested they banish him to the moon, as he heard from Legend's Quill. All agreed, except for Echo. She knew the pony he used to be, and saw that pony inside of him. She stopped fighting fairly quickly, much to her later regret. So, he was banished for 100 years. Almost every night, Echo would go out and talk to her old friend. One night, the other royals saw her, and reduced his sentence to 3 years. </p> <p> One thing you have to know about Echo, she sometimes gets extremely worked up about the smallest things. The night Gibbous was banished, she ran into her room, crying. The royal guard stationed outside, a unicorn named Iron Heart, couldn't help but worry about her, so he went in to calm her down and cheer her up. He listened to what she had to say, and helped her. The two quickly became friends.  </p> <p> Now, her relationships with Iron Heart, Beacon, and most other ponies have only grown stronger. She has developed a crush on Iron Heart, and she thinks he likes her, too. Beacon has grown to like Legend's Quill.  </p> <p> Keep in mind this backstory is very much condensed, and still very much a work in progress. So much is in here that I can't write down, as I can't find how to write it in the same way it's in my mind. </p>
